A Message From Your TP Howdy y’all! I can't believe that it's almost March. We're almost 1/6 of the way through 2021! 1.5 months till LEDCON and 3 more months till graduation! I'm so glad that LEDCON is hybrid so at least I'm able to meet with my District Board one last time before I retire. Now that it's almost March, almost all LEDCON planning has been laid out. We released the theme reveal video in December, finalized promotional items and branding, etc. I'm working on polishing up the designs for the stickers. I hope that y'all will like them! Friendly reminder that the Distinguished Website Award will be due on Monday, March 1st, 2021 @ 11:59 PM CST! If you want some last minute feedback on your website in accordance to the Distinguished Website Award criteria, email me ASAP! Unfortunately, LEDCON will be virtual this year for all club members. However, for the district board it's Hybrid, so the District Board will congregate in Oklahoma to run virtual LEDCON together. Though I won't be able to meet with you all face to face, I'm still glad I get this one final moment with my District Board. If you guys check out the "LEDCON" tab on the tokeyclub.com website, there's a registration link (make sure to share with your other club officers and members). You'll also get the opportunity to purchase some BLING for only $10! The staff designed all of the promo items, so I would really recommend them! Important W Awards distinguished website award deadline extended to march 1st, 2021 club websites are due on monday, march 1st, 2021 @ 11:59 PM CST. check the distinguished website award criteria and rubric documents on tokeyclub.com for information on how to submit. the changes that i made to the distinguished website award this year will not be mandatory until next school year (if all changes are passed at the 2021 t-o winter board meeting). as a result, i will be grading off of the old rubric, and your website will only be required to have the old criteria listed on the code of contests and awards found under the “district bylaws & codes” tab on tokeyclub.com. reference the texas-oklahoma code of contests and awards (effective 7/24/2020). the distingiushed website award (section 15) starts on page 32. click the link below to be redirected to the t-o code of contests and awards.

Webmasters s Update! outstanding webmaster award will be in effect at LEDCON 2022 i made the outstanding webmaster award this year and revised the distinguished website award. since these new/updated awards haven’t yet been passed by the district board, they’re technically not official yet and won’t be official until the next school year (20212022). the outstanding webmaster award will go into effect the next school year at LEDCON 2022, not at LEDCON 2021.
no more distinguished instagram award the distinguished instagram award has not been approved by the district administrator, so it will not be in effect. the district administrator won't approve of it because he says many schools don't allow clubs to have social media, and it'd be unfair for them. as a result, we won't have an award for club instas, but we will commend you on starting and maintaining one if you can!

Hybrid LEDCON Update This year, LEDCON will look a bit different. Due to the pandemic, we will once again be virtual, however, we hope to bring a bit more normalcy to it. We will host a Zoom Conference where we will have Welcoming Activities, Forums, Caucus Rooms, House of Delegates, a Special Speaker and of course Awards! ANYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND, HOWEVER, YOUR CLUB MUST HAVE PAID DUES TO ENTER THE CONTESTS AND PARTICIPATE IN CAUCUSES & HOUSE OF DELEGATES. Registration to attend is FREE, however, if you wish to receive the “Bling Give-Aways”, the cost is $10 per person. Registration may be done individually or by one person. You MUST register in order to receive the Zoom link to LEDCON.
