Letter from the LTG Interesting Fact about Me
Hello again Key Clubbers!
4
Some of my most treasured possessions include my dog Tofu, my MacBook, my desk lamp, my lucky penguin socks, and my Starbucks mug.
Happy April everybody! I hope you guys are doing well, staying safe, and practicing social distancing. I can't believe the Coronavirus situation has spiraled out of control since I last wrote to y'all. For me, school has been closed indefinitely and even though my school district board will reassess the situtation on April 3, there's a good chance that school will continued to be closed for me since Dallas County has about 500 Coronavirus cases. Reflecting on February, I am disappointed with the attendance at my DCM (only District Board members and LTG-elects came) and overall communication with my clubs. However, I understand the lack of motivation especially since we're just around the end of the school year. I am really striving to reach at least 5 people at my LAST EVER DCM in April. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns! This is my last month to serve y'all as your LTG. It's been an honor to collaborate with y'all and I wish y'all nothing but the best. Signing off, Alina Dam

LEDCON is Following the CDC’s March 15 announcement encouraging all events/gatherings of 10 or more be cancelled for the next 8 weeks, schools being closed and the concern of parents, the Texas-Oklahoma District Key Club has determined it to be most prudent to cancel our LEDCON. REGISTRATION–Schools who have already paid registration fees will be refunded 100%. Please send the desired check mailing instructions to Kelly Poland at kelly.poland@yahoo.com. Those who paid by PayPal will not receive the costs of the processing fees, only the registration fees. CONTESTS–We still want to celebrate your successes with you and to that end we will be accepting MOST contest entries. We are working to temporarily amend the Code for Contests and Awards to accept certain others as electronic instead of paper as well as striking some from the Code. The District Board must first vote for those changes to take affect. Due to our By-Laws, that approval date can be no earlier than April 2, however we anticipate no opposition. The contests proposed to be amended ineligible this year are the T-Shirt, Impromptu Essay, Quiz Bowl, Non-Digital Poster, Oratorical, Traditional and Non Traditional Scrapbook, Talent, Video Game and Theme Contest. The Digital Poster, Major Emphasis, Single Service, Club Achievement and Club Video are being amended to accept electronic entries for consideration. All other parameters of the scoring rubric remain in effect.

m District and Editor Hello Texas-Oklahoma Key Clubbers,
The following is an important message regarding the Top 25 Clubs in the District and all club secretaries/editors. Due to the widespread pandemic of the COVID-19, the assignments from the last month (March reports and newsletters) will not be calculated for Top 25. In order to ensure fairness for all the schools that were closed beginning early March and remain closed the rest of the month, the Top 25 Clubs will be accumulated from the first eleven months of this year. Therefore, club secretaries and editors are not required to submit reports, newsletters, or other assignments on April 5th in hopes of alleviating any additional stress. Take this time to stay safe, and T-Ogether we will conquer through this time of distress. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact District Secretary Kareena Patel at secretary@tokeyclub.com or District Editor Vivian Thai at editor@tokeyclub.com. Yours in friendship and service, Kareena Patel, Texas-Oklahoma District Secretary Vivian Thai, Texas-Oklahoma District Editor
