Welcome! Welcome back to the University of Stirling and to our next Scottish Building Society Scottish Women’s Premier League match. We are down to the final three games of what has been another exciting season for the club. Today’s game against Hibernian Ladies is the penultimate home match for the squad and the fight to stay in the top flight is going down to the wire. Ahead of this fixture the team sit 7 points clear of 8th place and relegation and depending on how results go today our future in SWPL1 could be sealed. If Hamilton drop 3 points in their match we will finish in at least 7th, however Head Coach Barry Rodgers does not want to leave anything in the hands of other teams and is looking for his team to push the visitors all the way. Hibernian Ladies are formidable opponents and currently they are in a battle for the league title, a feat that they are desperate to achieve and to take the title away from Glasgow City. So Rodgers knows how tough today’s game will be, even more so as Hibs now have ex-Stirling player Beth McKay in their squad and ex-Head Coach Grant Scott at the helm. But Rodgers has continued to build the Stirling squad over the past fortnight signing yet another US scholarship student Miranda Timberlake and former youth international Hannah Foulton. We are looking forward to another excellent afternoon of top quality football here at the university and good luck to all the coaches and players today!
