TO THE MOON AND BACK TO THE LOCAL BREATHTAKING SCENERY In Sasso di Castalda, in the province of Potenza, the Ponte alla luna (bridge to the moon) was recently inaugurated. The bridge is a tribute to the moon, with which the town has a strong bond; in fact, the parents of NASA engineer Rocco Petrone emigrated to the U.S. right from Sasso di Castalda and their son worked on the Apollo 11 mission that on July 20, 1969, brought WKH oUVW PDQ WR WKH PRRQ With a span of 300 meters, and hanging 120 meters above the Fosso Arenazzo river, it is one of the most impressive rope bridges in Italy. The path to get to the Ponte alla luna starts with as narrow street through the characteristic stone houses RI WKH KLVWRULFDO XQWLO LW UHDFKHV D oUVW EULGJH 3RQWH Inferiore Fosso Arenazzo, that is 95 meters long and hangs at a height of “onlyâ€? 70 meters. After the lower bridge, the path passes by a picturesque votive chapel before reaching the breathtaking Ponte alla luna (this last stretch is covered in about 15 minutes). The brave ones who dare crossing the Bridge to the moon and reach the ruins of the castle that dominates the landscape will be rewarded by glass sky walk suspended on the bridge, and an equipped panoramic viewpoint for a short break before heading back down, passing by the church of San Nicola. Other nearby must see are: the deer reserve, the beech forest known as “La Costaraâ€?, the path of legality – Sentiero della legalitĂ - dedicated to Mino Beneventano, a victim of the Camorra, and the Frassati path. THE AMAZING ART OF GUIDO DANIELE Guido Daniele (born 1950) is an award-winning artist from Soverato, Italy. Daniele graduated from Brera School of Arts in 1972, majoring in sculpture and then attended the Tankas school in Dharamsala, India until 1974. Over his 40+ year career, this all-round painter has worked as a hyper-realistic illustrator, cooperating with editing and advertising companies, innovating with airbrush and testing out various painting techniques; painted backcloths up to 400 square meters in size; painted trompe l’oeil images for private houses and public buildings; done both commercial/advertising work as well as group and solo exhibitions around the world. The inclusion of the human body added a new element to his work, which became impressively unique, so much that it has been more and more used in advertising images and commercials, as well as fashion events and exhibitions. Indeed, Daniele is very committed to wildlife protection and has become increasingly involved with NGOs such as WWF, the Jane Goodall Institute, Dolphin Aid, Innocence in Danger, PLAN, APNEEF and Liliane Fonds. TASTE & FLAVOURS

THE MILANESE EMPIRE OF GIACOMO BULLERI Giacomo Bulleri was born in Collodi, surrounded by the Tuscan countryside, in 1925, but only during the war, in Turin, he began to learn how to cook in a restaurant kitchen. In 1956, he arrived in Milan and only two years later he opened the historic Trattoria da Giacomo in Via Donizzetti, a simple trattoria serving the typical Tuscan dishes of his childhood, like ribolitta, acquacotta and pappa al pomodoro. Located near the courthouses and a conservatory, it attracted a lunchtime clientele of lawyers, musicians and titans of the Italian industry. The restaurant was

20

also near the studio and home of Renzo Mongiardino, revered architect, who had lunch there every single day. When, in 1989, Bulleri was forced to move because the building that housed the restaurant was sold, Mongiardino proposed to Bulleri that if he stayed in the neighborhood, he would design the space for free. The restaurant that Mongiardino made for Bulleri turned out to be a place in which elements of the past and present harmoniously intertwine to project the atmosphere of trattoria where nothing feels dated, but time has stopped in the early 1900s. During the years Giacomo Bulleri’s received so much appreciation that his brand has steadily increased its range, and, on top of a trio of restaurants, he opened a cafe, a pastry shop, a tobacco shop and a carryout lunch spot. In each one of these locations the trademark timeless atmosphere has been uniquely reinterpreted, not only by Renzo Mongiardino, but also by his disciples Roberto Peregalli and Laura Sartori Rimini. DUCATI BOBBER: THE CONCEPT BIKE DEVELOPED WITH AUDI KONZEPT DESIGN Ducati showcased the elegant concept bike at the ‘Concorso d’eleganza Villa d’Este’ in Cernobbio by Como Lake. The motorcycle, awarded during the kermesse, is the result of the collaboration between Audi Konzept Design Studio Munich, directed by Alessandro Dambrosio, and the Ducati Design department, led by Andrea Ferraresi. Audi Konzept Design Studio MĂźnchen has been presenting concepts for Audi Group for over 30 years; however, the studio not only works with Audi, but also with Lamborghini and for the last few years, Ducati. Of the Scrambler that we all know, the Ducati Bobber retains only chassis and engine. Everything else is totally new: tank, raiser, saddle, tail, license plate, instrumentation, led lights, fender, Ohlins fork (the same as the Monster 1200S’ one), and Brembo braking system of racing origin. The bobber’s wheels have radial rays, the exhaust runs low, and many details are made of aluminum and machined from solid. The Ducati shapes are respected, but they are interpreted in a cafĂŠ racer version. The Audi interpretation is very much present, both in terms of quality and cleanliness of shapes (Bauhaus), but also in the materials: the bike is in fact completely made of aluminum (a beloved material for the German brand).
