Francesco, Caterina and Silvia Allegrini
ALLEGRINI: BEYOND THE BORDERS OF VALPOLICELLA CLASSICA The Corte Giara brand is named after the rural courtyard in Fumane where the seventh generation of the Allegrini Family still lives. It is the focal point of the Company’s production activities and its historic seat. The range was created in 1989 with the aim of combining the traditional wine heritage of the Veneto region with the best-known international varieties under a single banner. The selection and production of Corte Giara wines has been achieved thanks to long-term agreements between Allegrini and trusted local winemakers, who are flanked by Allegrini at every stage of the production process. The company is constantly involved in wine making and viticultural decision-making and applies the same extensive expertise developed over the years in the Valpolicella Classica area to other parts of Valpolicella, and to Soave, Prosecco and Bardolino. To ensure the highest standards of quality, the Company has chosen only vineyards with the best exposure, located on semi-flat land and cultivated at high density but with low yields per hectare. Within the context of Allegrini production, we believe the Corte Giara range satisfied the tastes of a younger clientele, transmitting vitality, optimism and attention to up-to-date trends.
THE CORTE GIARA RANGE Protected by the Venetian Prealps to the north and overlooking the Adriatic Sea, the flatlands in the Veneto region are made up of mediumdensity alluvial soils that are rich in clay and minerals and are very fertile. As a result of the different altitudes, climates and soil compositions, wine production in this region benefits from conditions that foster the cultivation of diverse grape varieties, ranging from the Corvina Veronese to international varieties. The extraordinary biodiversity of the Veneto has inspired an extensive portfolio that offers a wide range of wines suitable for every occasion and pairing with both Italian and international cuisine. Corte Giara’s vineyards are well-suited to producing traditional Veronese wines – Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone, Recioto, Soave, Bardolino – and other well-known varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Merlot. The style of this range is known for its elegance and contemporary profile: the wines are well-balanced, very fruity and successfully win over a new and ‘youthful’ clientele looking for quality wines.
