Brief Biography Allen received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in the concentrations of Painting and Sculpture in 2006 from The University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. Following his undergraduate career, Allen worked as the Gallery Coordinator of the ArtWorks Time Warner Cable Gallery for a year. In 2007, Allen was recruited to work at The University of Cincinnati Foundation as an event producer and graphic designer. Currently, Allen is now pursuing his Master of Fine Arts at The Ohio State University in service and interaction design. He is taking classes and writing his thesis while he works in the Ohio State Department of Student Life as the 2011-2012 Vice President of the Council of Graduate Students. He expects to Graduate in with his MFA in the Spring Quarter, 2012. Allen enjoys collaborating on projects, drawing, taking photographs, walking his dog, surfing the internet, watching movies, and reading in his spare time. Teaching Experience THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY Design 573 | 2011 This course provides students with a introduction to web design, web site architecture and design for on screen viewing. During a ten-week quarter, students read and research current web convenstions, html 5, css 3, persona development, scenario creation, and information architecture. Design 573 is a studio based project oriented course with regular lectures that build on the reading and homework assignments. It, like the other classes listed here are part of the design minor curriculum within the Department of Design at The Ohio State University. THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY Design 230 | 2010-2011 This course provides students an with introduction to tools and techniques from design disciplines. The goal is to help students become more innovative thinkers in their own field and at the same time be able to understand and better communicate with designers. It is a studio-based course that is part of the design minor curriculum within the Department of Design at The Ohio State University. THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY Design 202 | 2010 Design 202 builds on Design 201 and concentrates on perspective, narrative and visualizations as they relate to Industrial, Interior and Visual Communication Design. Additionally, this course concentrates on using drafting tools to build skill while continuing to develop freehand competency. THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY Design 201 | 2009 This course was an introduction to freehand drawing as a skill to communicate characteristics of a particular representation as it pertains to Industrial, Interior and Visual Communication Design. Emphasis was placed on observational drawing as a tool to record, analyze and communicate information about natural and man-made subjects.

A Special Note About Exhibitions Throughout my undergraduate and professional experience I was fortunate enough to generate enough interest in my curatorial and project management knowledge that I was able to coordinate and curate many exhibitions. However, it is important to note that behind each exhibition was a team of dedicated individuals that made each event possible. Under my direction, these teams coordinated everything from recruitment, registration, installation, and wrap up of each event. Without these individuals, none of these exhibitions would be possible.
