The area is characterized by the presence of several warehouses crossed by the old railroad of Baoshan, the industrial district of the old Shanghai. The city council intends to keep the old railroad and regenerate the area. Our propose consists in a huge park that connects every part of the site. The warehouses are restored and converted into botique on the ƇSTU ĆˆPPS BOE PƉDFT PO UIF TFDPOE The area to the west is considered new development zone, and are intended to be used for residential apartments.

Suzhuo is a major city in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, only few hours from Shanghai. Once a strategic city and one of the most important cultural and commercial centers. Now is again one of the most developed city in China. It’s architecture and classical gardens contributed the city to be added in Unesco world heritagr sites. This project was designed following the principles of green strategies and cost control.We studied the best orientation to gain daylight illumination and save on electricity. In 2010 the Volcano Merapi erupted. It’s located near the city of Yogjakarta. Several villages were completly destroyed leaving only ashes. New houses for those who lost their dwellings were built in the districts of Muntilan and Magelang. Head Architect Pradipto designed 20 houses on stilts, each measuring 4x6 meters, occupying an area of 1500sm. Two types of units were EFTJHOFE GPS SFTJEFOUJBM QVSQPTF 5IF ƇSTU IBT POMZ POF ƈPPS CFESPPNT B DPNNPO TQBDF and service on the rear. The second has two ƈPPST UISFF CFESPPNT B DPNNPO TQBDF TFNJ open kitchen,aslo on the back of the house. The new houses were completed in just 6 weeks under the direction of Architect and Professor Pradipto and involved also 30 students of ArDIJUFDUVSF PG 6OJWFSTJUZ (BEKBI .BEB 5IF Ƈnal cost was equivalent to $ 15,000. Bamboo was the natural choice as main building material. Cheap, abundant and familiar to locals. Due to the emergency the bamboo skipped the normal process of impregnation, a treatment necessary for his good conservation. All connections use bolts, a moder system to join FƉDJFOUMZ CBNCPP XBMMT BOE ƈPPST VTF USBEJtional construction systems. As a result the shelters can be used up to 5 years as they can resist to rain, wind and earthquake.

For the facade we opted for a brick cladding r which XFMM TBUJTƇFE UIF FOFSHZ SFquirements. At the same time we visually connected the new extension to the nearby theater “Colosseo”and more ideally at the nearby “Porte Palatine”, a famous roman ruin that lie in the north axis of the project.
The Project provides the extension of three new ƈPPST BCPWF UIF UISFF FYJTUJOH TUPSFZ PG B TNBMM building in Torino. The main constrainsts of the projects are: width and deepth of sleeve ( 8m x 13m ), obligation to retain the facade facing the street, elevation of the facade up to the eaves of the adjacent building ( 20 m ).
