Walter W. Ryu Senior Associate, HASSELL Walter Ryu, ASLA, RLA, is a registered landscape architect with 19 years of professional experience in design and project management with a strong design ability and construction knowledge from background in landscape architecture, urban design, planning and civil engineering. After finishing study under James Corner (Field Operations) at Penn in 1994 with Master’s degree, Walter had collaborated with many notable landscape architects such as Michael Vergason, Mr. James van Sweden, FASLA from Oehme, van Sweden and Associates, in Washington, D.C. At Oehme, van Sweden, he worked for major design projects such as Chicago Botanic Garden in Illinois and World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. Before his working in Asia, he had run his own firm for six and a half years in Virginia and designed many high end luxury residential landscape to practice and study more about the landscape design details of construction and management.
