How to Bid / Auction Rules By bidding in the auction, each bidder agrees to the auction rules. The auctioneer will announce the number of the winning bidder. An auction monitor will provide the winning bidder with a bid sheet, identifying the lot and the winning bid. This will facilitate payment and pickup of your piece(s). A bid acknowledged by the auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. To bid in the silent auction please clearly print your full name, phone number, bidder number, and bid amount on the bid sheet in front of the corresponding art.
BUY IT NOW! If you wish to purchase a piece outright, which will end bidding for that piece, print your full name, phone number, bidder number, and the BUY IT NOW! amount on the bid sheet for that piece of art.
PAYMENT AND PICKUP
ART SOLD AS IS
All sales are final and no exchanges are permitted. Please pay for your winning items at CASH OUT. All winning bidders will be charged the amount of the winning bid. We accept credit cards, checks (payable to the UCSF Alliance Health Project), and cash. Credit card purchases will appear on your statement as “GG University of California San Francisco.” All artwork is sold “as is.” The UCSF Alliance Health Project makes no representation or warranty with respect to the artwork being auctioned. Donations to UCSF Alliance Health Project are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. UCSF Alliance Health Project is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (Tax ID #94-6036493). If you leave the auction before a section closes and you are the winning bidder, we will contact you the following week to arrange for you to pick up your winning(s).
Alliance Health Project has attempted to describe and catalog all items correctly, and all items are offered “as is, where is.” Values set forth of auctioned items are estimates received from the donor. UCSF Alliance Health Project neither warrants nor represents, and in no event shall be responsible for, the correctness of the descriptions, authenticity, authorship, provenance or conditions of the items. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability UCSF Alliance Health Project, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer, event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

Sexual Health Services Know Yourself, Know Your Status, Know Your Community. Testing for HIV, HCB and STI’s as well as learning about PrEP empowers people. Our Sexual Health Services are professional, sex positive and non-judgmental. For appointments, go to “Make Your Appointment” on AHP’s website, or call 415-502-TEST (8378) from 11 AM to 4:30PM, Tuesday through Friday. Look for our van in the Castro on Thursday and Saturday. AHP also provides clean syringes to people who inject drugs.
Mental Health and Substance Use Help People Help Themselves. We offer individual and group support, immediate intervention for people in crisis, and psychiatric assessment and medications management. Most mental health and support services are free; some have income or insurance status limits. Meet Folks Where They Are. Harm reduction—individual counseling, case management, and group support—creates a constructive and effective setting for addressing mental health and substance use concerns.
Support Groups and Wellness Workshops Connect People Together. Support and therapy groups help people build community and address mental health and wellness topics together. Groups vary in length and in their target audience. Some focus on specific populations or topics. Feel Better Than Ever. Through the power of community, AHP promotes a world of well-being through workshops and forums on both LGBTQ and HIV-related topics.

Training and Research Build Knowledge and Capacity. AHP trains HIV test counselors, mental health and substance use professionals, and staff from agencies seeking to foster a well-informed, client-centered, culturally competent, stigmafree environment. Discover While Serving. Doing HIV and LGBTQ work leads AHP staff to recognize gaps and develop ideas for filling them. AHP researches new approaches to HIV prevention and LGBTQ mental health.
UCSF Alliance Health Project— Serving the LGBTQ and HIV Communities Community, Generosity, and Compassion Converge at Art for AIDS We welcome you to Art for AIDS, UCSF Alliance Health Project’s annual charity art auction where every winning bid contributes to LGBTQ and HIV-affected community members getting care. Tonight, you will have a chance to buy amazing art and gift packages—and learn why Art for AIDS is celebrated not only for the magnitude of its cause but also for the excellence of its carefully curated artworks. Enjoy an evening of community, generosity, and compassion all converging to create a thrilling event raising funds for something that
really changes lives—Alliance Health Project, a safe place for marginalized members of our communities to receive care. As an LGBTQ-affirming mental health organization, the Alliance Health Project (AHP) stands out in its dedication to compassionate care. Staffed with a dedicated team of health professionals, we rely on the generosity of community members at Art for AIDS to help clients heal. This year, live and silent auctions will include 170 artworks—painting, photography, mixed media, and sculpture—by artists such as Hung Liu, Marianne Kolb, Catherine Mackey, Paul Madonna, Kristine Mays, Lee Price,
Gustavo Ramos Rivera, Lucky Rapp, and Heather Wilcoxon. AHP is a community mental health clinic that has been on the frontline of caring for clients with and at risk for HIV, substance use, and mental illness since the beginning of the HIV epidemic. AHP services are free or low cost for clients who are uninsured and underinsured, and consist of sexual health services, support groups, mental health care, and crisis counseling. AHP’s values and goals reflect its mission: to support the mental health and wellness of the LGBTQ and HIVaffected communities in constructing healthy and meaningful lives.
