AEP and International Public Health Consultant – Mia’s Health Consultancy

Mia’s Health offers EP, physical therapy with applied psychology, prioritising individuals with diverse needs. Mia’s Master’s in International Public Health focuses on NCD prevention in Australia and the Pacific Islands through her initiative of “5Plus” Health, with her work in Fiji, Vanautu, Solomon Islands and American Samoa.

JORDON STEELE-JOHN

WA Senator – Greens Australia Party

Jordon is Australia’s youngest senator and first with a lived experience of cerebral palsy. Prior to taking up the post of Senator for Western Australia in November 2017, Jordon dedicated his time to youth and disability advocacy and was also a student of politics at Macquarie University. Deeply involved with the Greens Party from a young age, Jordon is passionate about using his time in parliament to act on climate change, reduce youth unemployment and implement a full NDIS.

DR. TRENT WATSON

Deputy Chairperson – PHN Gold Coast

Dr. Trent Watson is CEO of Ethos Health, a multidisciplinary health and safety business based in Newcastle and the Hunter region. Trent combines this work with several appointments, including Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the School of Health Sciences, University of Newcastle, and media spokesperson with the Dietitians Association of Australia. Trent was a former Director (2012–2015) and Chairperson (2014–2015) of the Hunter Medicare Local. He completed his undergraduate studies and PhD in nutrition and dietetics at the University of Newcastle and has continued his research interests in workplace health, with a special focus on obesity, obesityrelated lifestyle diseases, and fatigue.

With more than four years working in the charity space, and over six years of experience assisting trauma survivors, Lauren has a passion for sharing education and impactful stories to bring about meaningful change. In her Partner Engagement & Community Educator role with Gather My Crew, Lauren spends her time educating people about the barriers that exist when it comes to offering help and receiving care. Her personal experience navigating the cancer journey of her late husband, has fueled her commitment to equipping individuals and communities to provide meaningful support to their loved ones through life’s challenges. Lauren’s blend of professional expertise and personal experience uniquely positions her to make a positive impact.

Associate Professor, Occupational Therapy – Monash University, Peninsula Campus

Associate Professor Libby Callaway is a registered occupational therapist who has worked in policy and practice for over thirty years in Australia and the USA. Libby currently works across the Rehabilitation, Ageing and Independent Living (RAIL) Research Centre and Occupational Therapy Department at Monash University, as well as clinically in her community-based private practice, Neuroskills. After five years as the President of the Australian Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Association (ARATA) – the national nonprofit peak body for assistive technology stakeholders in Australia – Libby has now taken up an augural position as ARATA’s strategic executive advisor.

HON SHANNON FENTIMAN

MP for Waterford; Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women

Shannon is committed to social justice and throughout her career has worked to improve the lives of working people. She is passionate about fighting discrimination and unfairness at work and in the community. Prior to her election to the Queensland Parliament as the Member for Waterford, Shannon worked as a solicitor for Hall Payne Lawyers. She has considerable experience in employment law having previously worked as an industrial advocate and as a Judge’s Associate in the Supreme Court of Queensland to her Honour Justice Atkinson. Shannon has also been a board member of the Logan Women’s Health and Wellbeing Centre, Secretary of the Centre Against Sexual Violence in Logan and the Duty Solicitor at the Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre.
