you make this major purchase with your head, as well as your heart. There are several options for venturing out to the sea. Each should, and can, align with your

broader financial goals, and it is here that some thoughtful planning can make a big difference.

The First Step: Define how you plan to use your yacht. How many people? Destinations? How often will you use it?

Your answers will help you decide to build new, buy pre-owned or to charter. Luxury yachts that are privately owned and crewed start at about $2 million,

while superyachts (at least 79 feet long) can run into the hundreds of millions. Wait times for a custom superyacht can be three to five years, and demand may push prices even higher.

Of course, the purchase price is only one aspect of a major purchase like this. At J.P. Morgan, we’re also able to help clients plan for annual costs to maintain and operate a private yacht, including crew, dockage, boat insurance and maintenance -- that will amount to at least 10% of the purchase price. And there is always fuel, insurance or security costs, too. We also see many purchasers faced with a payment schedule, often in a foreign currency like euros. Our Advisors can help you consider ways to mitigate some of the risks that come with foreign exchange volatility during these transactions. Whatever your decision, it’s wise to consider how these options might affect your overall lifestyle and other financial goals, as each comes with different cash-flow implications and trade-offs. If you are looking to set sail immediately, chartering can be a good option and would likely cost you less and give you access sooner. On the other hand, if you build, you can customize amenities and have unfettered access—and then charter while your yacht is being built. You could also choose to own a relatively modest yacht but charter a superyacht every year for an extended family-and-friends vacation. At J.P. Morgan, we can help you think through all your options so that you might ensure this new commitment is incorporated into your family and financial plans. Even if you are able to afford to purchase the yacht outright — up to 50% of the contract price can be required as down payment — it could be more efficient to borrow against your assets. THE PAIRING GUIDE FOR A DISCERNING PALATE Scotch whisky is a centuries-old Scottish dark golden spirit crafted from malt or grain. INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE The story of Penfolds begins in most humble moments, on landscapes harsh and unknown. It was 1844 when Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary boarded a ship in Europe, setting off on an arduous, long crossing to a colony in a fledgling Australia. They settled on 500 acres near Adelaide, unpacking a few possessions, among which were prized, delicate vine cuttings from Europe. These European vines were planted, and a young couple pursued a dream of making medicinal, fortified wine. It was Mary Penfold who would strike a lasting image, riding a grand, white horse along the vine rows each day, overseeing the planting, pruning and production, even after her husband passed. Mary also sustained the operations, and she remains an honored figure in the Penfolds legacy, responsible for growing a brand before women were even allowed to vote. Max Schubert, originally hired as the team’s messenger boy, became the brand’s first Chief Winemaker by his 33rd birthday in 1948. In a world where everyone is constantly on the move, hopping from jets to cars and yachts, designer Kimberly Pucci is elevating the nomadic lifestyle. Particularly for those who are nautically inclined. “As an avid traveler, I’ve focused my luxury lifestyle brand around how one travels and what we look like traveling, and making that feel and look cohesive,” says Pucci. “This is about maintaining that same level of luxury in all aspects of your life and travel.” With a home and namesake flagship atelier in Newport, Rhode Island, much of Pucci’s nautical-know-how is inspired by the area’s centuries of marine history. The designer also relies on her extensive background of living and working in Italy for 25 years. She began her career along Florence’s Ponte Vecchio, working with a family of jewelers whose storied lineage dates back to the 1300s. Pucci specially crafted pieces for Ted Kennedy and his wife at the time, as well as for royalty like an African king. “In the same way I design jewelry, I now create covetable luxuries for everyday living,” Pucci says. “My designs take one from their home to their jet to their yacht. Everything can be customized as an extension of their own personal branding.”

The eucalyptus wood furnishings in all the yacht’s living areas have a 45-degree specular grain pattern to accentuate the chiaroscuro effect, as well as being set in a solid wood frame that matches the walls to create visual continuity. The new PERSHING GTX116’s decor features top design brands including Poltrona Frau, the longstanding partner chosen for the sofa in the main deck saloon, the furniture frames, and the headboards and bed frames in the cabins, and Ernestomeda for the fully appointed galley. The Altraluce lighting takes the form of individual spotlights mounted on black aluminum bars. MAIN DECK The Main Deck is the focus of innovation in the new GTX range and extends across two levels, the first designed for outdoor life in contact with the sea and the second for socializing and conviviality. On the first level is the spacious beach club, a 40-square-metre teak-covered area at the water’s edge, consisting of an extended stern platform and a sundeck separated by lateral gunwales. The latter have a hydraulic mechanism that merges the two areas into a single generous space, which can also be used under way and has access to the cockpit (over 35 square meters) on the second level. The cockpit is a truly panoramic space with an external social and dining area and a bar. The cockpit also leads into the lavishly-sized main saloon, which offers a unique experience and an unprecedented sensation of seamless contact with the water thanks to its extensive glazing and sheer spaciousness.

At the entrance to the saloon, a large living space furnished with armchairs and an L-shaped sofa seating ten offers breathtaking sea views thanks to the possibility of a lateral sliding door that opens onto a terrace extending over the water and more than four meters long. Further forward, the dining area has a large table seating up to ten people, while the galley, depending on the owner’s needs, can also be designed with a bar counter - show kitchen. Two doors – one in the saloon and one in the galley – provide discreet access to the helm station, where the windscreen, a single piece uninterrupted by verticals, wraps around the entire breadth of the superstructure (around five meters). The bridge is characterized by a futuristic console, black leather upholstery and a carbon fiber pilot seat. This magnificent one-off exercise is custom designed specifically for this yacht, with onboard instrumentation featuring even more advanced technology than the brand’s already high standard. The top choice version is fitted with latestgeneration ultra-wide Navico-Simrad screens for high-precision navigation. The generous sun area in the bow can be fitted with an optional Whirlpool Jacuzzi. LOWER DECK The five-cabin night area has a centrally positioned full-beam owner’s cabin, two doubles and two twins, all with private bathroom, plus a sixth bathroom off the main stairway. Owners also have the choice of an alternative layout in which one of the guest cabins is replaced by a lower saloon for guests to enjoy in intimate privacy. Further forward are the crew quarters, with a pantry, a laundry and three cabins for a five-member crew (two twins for the crew and a single for the captain). To enable the owner and their guests to enjoy absolute privacy, the crew area connects directly to the helm station on the main deck. The yacht is also designed with crewonly passageways so that crew members have no need to cross spaces reserved for the owner and guests. SPORTBRIDGE The sportbridge is another of the innovations introduced into the sport superyacht segment by PERSHING GTX116: a deck of over 40 square meters partially covered by a hardtop and featuring a fully equipped bar area with seating built into the main structure. Forward, on the other hand, is the exterior helm station, with up to three sport seats to give guests a thrilling hands-on experience. ENGINE ROOM The engine room contains a triple waterjet propulsion system, the result of a huge design effort by the product team to fit all the components into a smaller space, so providing more room for the garage and beach area. The result of this strategy is a high-tech engine room that demonstrates how innovative systems can be concentrated, while also achieving extraordinary performance levels. PROPULSION AND TECHNOLOGY

PERSHING GTX116 is equipped with a triple water jet propulsion system that can be paired with three MAN V12 2000 engines, each rated 2,000 mhp (optional), for a top speed of 34 knots and a cruising speed of 29 knots. The standard engines are three MAN V12 1800 units rated 1,800 mhp. The yacht has a RINA Class Certificate for Pleasure Yachts.

It was a tremendous privilege to be invited by Allied Marine to guide their valued guests on a journey deep into the heart of Italy’s culinary excellence during their recent yacht sojourn in the Hamptons, at the Yacht Club in Montauk, New York. As a devoted champion of Italy’s rich food traditions, I wished to design an experience for their guests that would transport their enlightened guests on an odyssey from my country’s tradition to the sophisticated and fun night. Our vision was to curate a voyage illuminated by torchbearers of history - to traditional dairies nestled in the food valley, my beloved Emilia-Romagna region, to balsamic vinegar artisans presiding over centuries of patient alchemy, and to noble estates where olives slowly yield their emerald elixir. This sensorial adventure would unravel the ancestry of provenance and the poetry of flavor that has nourished Italy’s soul for centuries upon centuries. An invitation not just to taste, but to immerse mind and spirit in the sanctity of Italy’s culinary heritage. This was my quest – to escort Allied Marine’s honored voyagers through a portal into the pinnacle of Made in Italy’s peerless food treasures.

PALAZZO DI VARIGNANA

I began our elegant feast by unveiling a colossal wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano, specially transported from a caseificio, Italian word for creamery, nestled in Emilia's valley. As I breached the rind and cleaved open this cheese steeped in centuries of tradition, our honored guests witnessed the poetry of the senses — the satisfying sound of the knife piercing, the heady aroma escaping its cave-aged cocoon, the complex nutty flavors waiting to be savored. I longed to share with Allied Marine's guests this ritual unlocking of secrets sealed within. These cheese artisans are curators of time and place, their legacy a portal into the soul of Made in Italy, their passion and sense of duty embedded in Italian food culture. Together we experienced why Parmigiano Reggiano is an icon amongst cheeses. Next, drops of amber balsamic vinegar from Acetaia Giusti elevated the risotto prepared within the hollowed wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano. At this family-run estate, led now by the 17th generation, nestled amongst a series of historic barrels some over 100 years old, I had the chance to witness many times how their traditional balsamic slowly concentrates into an incredibly complex elixir. As our guests tasted the nuanced sweetness of what in Modena is called “black gold”, they understood how this tradition symbolizes Italy's commitment to quality and excellence through extraordinary patience and care. The balsamic I used to complete our feast that evening was from this very Private Reserve series, produced from casks I adopted and that passionate patrons from all over the world are allowed to do. For the next stage of our feast, I unveiled a sublime monocultivar extra virgin olive oil from Palazzo di Varignana, a luxury resort and agricultural estate nestled in Emilia Romagna's undulating hills. I wished to highlight for our voyagers how Italy's olive oils reflect the great biodiversity of their terroirs – each with its own story to tell. Palazzo di Varignana is an homage to a beautiful land just a stone’s throw from Bologna, where marvelous hills guard millennia of memories. This stunning area, close to my hometown and surrounding their Resort has come to life thanks to the redevelopment of the land, which also includes olive groves. I was absolutely delighted to share the fruits of this labor with Allied Marine’s friends. 61

Guests were accompanied on board by their spouses and brokers in the Northeast. Known for Ferretti Yachts, Riva, Itama, Custom Line, Pershing, and Wally lines, the Allied Marine team and guests boarded the Ferretti Yachts 860 at Cru Restaurant, at the Nantucket Boat Basin and, sea-trialed the yacht at sunset. ALLIED MARINE PRIVATE RENDEZVOUS 7.28.2023 - 7.30.2023 Allied Marine for the second year invited its yacht owners with their families to attend an exclusive Rendezvous event this July in Montauk, NY. At the east end of Long Island, this New York village's famous coastline and beaches were the perfect spots for the exclusive Allied Marine Private Rendezvous. Over a hundred and fifty guests, and Allied Marine clients, arrived by yacht to enjoy three days of lavish hospitality including dining, drinks, entertainment, and special camaraderie. The luxe events began with guest check-in at the Montauk Yacht Club & Marina, followed by a welcome reception at Sunset Pier. The next day, guests set sail off to Navy Beach, a popular local beachfront restaurant on 200 feet of private beach overlooking Fort Pond Bay, which was privatized exclusively for the event. DJ music, beach, and various activities in and off the water offered special enjoyment to families with kids. The third and last day featured the “Experience Day” providing guests with an array of adventures coordinated by a dedicated Allied Marine concierge service. Guests were able to privately enjoy test drives, exquisite wine and cognac tasting experiences, a private fashion trunk shows, and much more. Aperitifs and the Rendezvous Gala White Party featuring CeCe Rogers followed to round out a magical weekend.
