RED ROCK HOSPITAL PEDIATRIC CANCER CENTER SENIOR YEAR COLLEGE THESIS

INDIVIDUAL PROJECT, VIRGINIA TECH

Inspired by Melbourne's iconic Red Bluff’s Cliff, the REDROCK center embodies the resilience and strength symbolized by this natural landmark. Similar to the cliff's interruption of the fluid ocean, the center stands as a solid force against the unpredictable journey of cancer, offering assured care for adolescents. The design mirrors the cliff's asymmetric balance, representing the center's grounding strength in the face of the disease's unpredictability. Like the sturdy ground facilitating safe travel on the cliff, Bluffs Center provides a secure and careful treatment environment. The cliff's symbolic significance extends to discovery, paralleling the birthplace of red sandstone and offering views of Melbourne’s marine life. Likewise, the facility provides pockets of space for learning and discovery, offering relief from trauma and supporting patients' growth. Through design elements inspired by the cliff, the space encourages strength, resilience, and bravery in patients facing their battle with cancer. COSMETICS CONCEPTUAL BRANDING IN CONJUNCTION WITH DESIGN PROJECT INDIVIDUAL PROJECT, VIRGINIA TECH

NEXT's beauty and lifestyle brand stands in opposition to a "one size fits all" mindset. Their goal is to create makeup that is not only clean, honest, and sustainable but also caters to all skin types. In addition to the interior design of their office space, the brand design of NEXT cosmetics take inspiration from a water droplet, representing the lines core values of fluidity, transformity, and openness to all. This commitment to diversity and inclusivity extends beyond their product line to their office design, where a range of experiences is provided to alleviate stress, prevent burnout, and address dissatisfaction among employees and guests. This dedication to well-being translates seamlessly into the overall brand, reflecting a commitment to an inspiring and revitalizing work environment. LUXURY LOUNGE OFFICE HEADQUARTERS LOUNGE RENOVATION

CO-LEAD DESIGNER; BASKERVILL

Situated adjacent to the elevator lobbies, the luxury lounge embodies the essence of the clients brand values while offering versatile functionality. The client's directive was to create a revitalizing experience in a traditional office space. Accordingly, the entryway acts as a transition point, characterized by a darker, moodier ambiance, leading into a softly illuminated space designed to invigorate and rejuvenate the mind. Within the entryway, the seven core brand principles are highlighted, illuminated by a candle emitting a personalized brand fragrance. The adjoining backroom serves as a multifunctional area, allowing guests to conduct semi-private meetings, present designs on the multi-panel wall, or simply take a momentary respite before continuing with the workday. For this project, I worked under my supervisor to make selections, craft mood boards, and develop renderings for her ultimate review and approval.
