Temperatures have risen, kids are tucked away at camp, road trips have commenced, and backyard barbeques are smoking. We’ve rounded the longest day of the year, June 21st, also referred to as Summer Solstice, and now embark upon summer break mid-point, July, before we slide back into a new school year. But let’s not rush it.
This Fourth of July our country celebrated its 239th year of independence from British rule. The Fourth of July is my family’s favorite holiday of the year. We wear our red, white and blue, fly Old Glory, invite family and friends over for barbeque and enjoy tons of fireworks. A celebration that we hold near and dear to our hearts and one for which the sacrifices of many we would not have the luxury to enjoy.
