“MOVING AROUND” “The appreciation of the space”

42 km2, 15 houses, characters, elements, players, and one common quality, the movement. 15 existing houses that went through a transformation, becoming the dynamic of the site, the transition of the feelings. Creating an unfamiliar situation between buildings and people, therefore an exciting and provocative environment. This different, exchanging situation makes the visitor constantly involved and therefore see and experience the site in many possibilities. Creating a new experience that shapes what is considered normal. 138x308m are the dimensions of the field, the limits of where everything happens. Inside, the rails create the difference between areas, and the landscape tries to submerge and win it´s own space inside the game. Each actor together as one moving through the positions of a basketball diagram to signal and understand itself through each formation. The movement is the best appreciation of the space.

AERIAL VIEW, SELECTED AREA

Inside the big community, 14 houses are selected to be part of the project. Everyhouse gets their own description, based on the qualitys and on the location.

“Another perfect L, but in this case, with four focus eyes. This house doesnt want to miss anything, is looking at all the directions. Perfects 90 degrees in all the plan. Is broking the orientation of the houses in its group, its the different one, that one that can change the game in just one move. Being the last house makes it been the visual conection with the other big group of houses. White walls, black ceilling.”

“Inside the group of the rectangels, but this house tryes to confuse you. One side, perfect wall, clean, straight, and the other one, changing the direction all the time and adding and aditional rectangle. Is interesting, because the clean side is focusing the other group of houses, and the irregular side is focusing the nature, somehow recreating the wild of the forest. White walls, black ceilling.”

“Is this kind of house that doesnt get your attention, regular design like some of them, but are imprescindibls to have a good “community” , “team”, to get the equilibrium. Its there, but somehow you dont focus your attention to it. The interest in this house could be that is taller than the rest. White walls, black ceilling.”

“This house is the one that is broking the harmony and the order of its group. Its a group of 5 houses, 4 of them following the same direction except this one. It seems that is part of the group on the other side of the road. Focusing the attention to the forest insteat to the valley. Maybe this one was first built and the other ones decided not to followed? or it was al reves? It could me interesnting to know why is the only one of that line in that orientation. Or maybe this house learned from the mistakes of the other houses, and the sun was better in this way. White walls, black ceilling.”

5,1m

3m 5m

“First house of the team A. Perfect and clean geometry. Simple. It has the qualitys as a lider, it seems that the houses are looking at it. Its not the biggest, but probably its the “perfect” one, the least “llamativa”, but how we know, KISS (keep it simple, stupid). 4 walls, two of them the biggest are like the body of the house, and the two smaller are the brain, the movement. White walls, black ceilling.”

3,5m

“Solitary house, but placed in the middle, like in an estrategy point. It looks like a thing, tall house, like the pivot player. She is faced to all the housed, the ball can be redirectioner to everywhere from her. It is small, almost you can barely see it, but thats the strategy of this house. You can place it where ever you want.Symetrical in every possibility. It can be call as the “sourprise factor”, the unexpected. Red walls, grey ceilling.”

3,5m 4,5m 6,5m 4m

“The perfect L, also another dominant house. Located in the higest point, differents orientations, like a place where you change your direction. The perfect boomerang, the ball changes 90 degrees. Whit the grey walls is the perfect camuflage, is trying to go unnoticed. Green walls, grey ceilling.”

14

“The big sibling of number 2, with an aditional square. It seems like is looking for the number two, protecting it. They are placed like having a conversation with each other, like a mirror, but in a different scale. Red walls, grey ceilling.”

4,2m 6,4m

“The addition ones. It looks like a perfect rectangle that has been add two more pieces along the years. This two new squares can be to make it more complete. Red walls, grey/red ceilling.”

“The area of resting, without movement in the ceillin, just straight. Go forward, go back. Climb or go down. The difference of high in the ceilling generates a sensation of getting at some point, of showing something to the public, its like its orientated to the sea. It is back to the public, it gives the house a misterious look. Its like the rebel in the class, its not listening. This house is never looking back, is always looking forward. Its not welcoming people. From the top, it gives the feeling of a bench, rest here. Red walls, grey/red ceilling.”

“The other perfect square but in a smaller scale. In this case, the house lifes alone. Its the welcome of the people coming from the path. Its placed in the border between the team A and the team B. Is facing both big groups of houses. Again four perfect walls that can be remove in an easy way. Red walls, grey/red ceilling.”

“The doble face, eyes in the back, and eyes in the front. Simetry until it becomes the big gossip and has a big access for the sea. The big opening is trying to get your attention, trying to get you in, but then, inside, the access for going out is smaller. Its like this big access is giving more importance to the half right side of the house that the left, at least more light. White walls, black ceilling.”

GEOMETRICAL ANALISYS_ POSIBILITYS OF MOVEMENTS

16

The movement is the quality that allows the houses to create different situations, environments and feelings. Two types of movements; circular and straightforward, like basketball players trying to find the best location in the field.
