AERIAL CABLEWAY Guest card “Südtirol Alto Adige Guest Pass” The Guest Pass facilitates holidaymakers’ the exploration of the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm as well as the wider region of South Tyrol, providing a single-ticket access to all types of public transport, such as train and bus. The Guest Pass is valid for 7 days. Guests who have booked a longer stay, receive a second Guest Pass after 7 days. The Guest Pass is personal and nontransferable and needs to be voided each time you travel. Dogs don’t get the Guest Pass and have to pay the regular fare in the busses of the Public Transport Services. The transfer of dogs in the shuttle busses is free of charge. If the Guest Pass receives the stamping “unleserlich/illeggibile” (meaning “unreadable”) when it is voided, it is still valid that day. In the evening, it has to be substituted for a new Guest Pass by your accommodation. Attention: The Guest Pass is not valid for the following lines: Seiser Alm Express (Bus Route 10: Seis > Kastelruth > Compatsch), Almbus (Bus Route 11: Compatsch > Saltria) and N170 Nightliner Schlern. Nature park Schlern-Rosengarten Measuring 7,292 hectares, the Nature park is located in South Tyrol‘s western Dolomite Mountains. The park, together with the regional conservation area of the Seiser Alm, forms a single natural landscape. The Schlern, whose highest peak is the Pez (2,563m above sea level), gives this nature park its name and, together with the Santner and Euringer peaks, forms an impressive mass of mountain that is considered to be one of the landmarks of South Tyrol. The mountainous woodland around Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten as well as the Tschamin valley belongs to the nature park. In 2003 the Nature park was extended in the local authority area of Tiers am Rosengarten. Since then the Rosengarten massif is also part of the conservation area.

Shuttle Buses (Bus Route 2, 3, 3A, 5, 13, 15) The following tickets are accepted in the Shuttle Buses as a ticket: Combi Card, Seiser Alm Card Gold, Südtirol Alto Adige Guest Pass and all tickets of the Public Transport Services Südtirol/Alto Adige. For all other passengers the one-day-ticket (2.50 €), the 3-day-ticket (5.00 €) and the 7-day ticket (7.00 €) are available at the Automatic Ticket Distribution, the 1-day ticket is also available at the Tourist Office of Seis am Schlern. It is not possible to purchase tickets on the shuttle buses. Children born after 21.05.2014 free of charge.

SHOPPING HOURS Generally speaking shops are open from Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 12:00 noon and from 3:30pm to 7:00pm and on Saturday from 8:00am to 12:00 noon. During the high season shops are also open on Saturday afternoon, some also on Sundays. In the event of any doubt ask your landlord or the Tourist Offices.

Public Transport Buses (Bus Route 170, 172, 176, 177, 185) On public buses all tickets of the Public Transport Services are valid. The tickets are issued on the bus. Also the Guest card “Südtirol Alto Adige Guest Pass” is valid on all public services. Tickets for the Shuttle-Buses (1-day, 3-day and 7-day, Combi Card and Seiser Alm Card Gold) are not accepted on public services. Children (0-5) free of charge.

Seiser Alm Express (Bus Route 10): Seis > Kastelruth > Seiser Alm The Seiser Alm Express is included only in the Combi Card and the Seiser Alm Card Gold. All other tickets are not valid not even the Südtirol Alto Adige Guest Pass. When purchased individually, a round-trip ticket costs 20.00 €. You can purchase tickets directly on the buses. Children (born after 21.05.2014) free of charge. Almbus (Bus Route 11): Compatsch > Ritsch The Almbus is included only in the Combi Card and in the Seiser Alm Card Gold. All other tickets also the Südtirol Alto Adige Guest Pass are not valid. There is a large free parking lot for buses and cars at the valley station of the Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway. The parking fee for the Compatsch Parking Lot on the Seiser Alm is 20.00 € for cars and 100.00 € for buses.

Bicycle transport The bicycle transport is charged. The price of the Bike-ticket (single) is 5.00 €. The bicycle transport is included in the Combi Card, it is not included in the Seiser Alm Card Gold. In the shuttle buses (routes 2, 3, 3A, 5, 13, 15), in the Seiser Alm Express (Bus Route 10) and in the Almbus (Bus Route 11) the transportation of bikes is not allowed.

TRAFFIC Traffic regulation on the Seiser Alm The road to the landscape conservation area Seiser Alm is closed to private traffic from 9:00am to 5:00pm. During this time you can get to the Seiser Alm with the Seiser Alm cable car or by bus. You can return from Compatsch at any time. Guests, who have booked an accomodation on the Seiser Alm, have the following special permission to use their cars: • You can arrive and depart from the accomodation you have booked at any time. • During your stay you can drive from your hotel to Compatsch before 10:00am and after 5:00pm. Between 10:00am and 5:00pm private traffic is not allowed on the Seiser Alm. • you will receive your special permission to use your car either on your arrival at the Info-Point in St. Valentin, in the Seiser Alm Tourist Office or directly from your host.

Ban on driving in village centers Our village centers are subject to traffic-reducing measures and at certain times there are total bans on traffic. The times when traffic is banned vary according to the season. Please note the appropriate information signs. Leaving your caravan anywhere in the area of the Schlern is forbidden.

The Guest Pass facilitates holidaymakers’ exploration of the Seiser Alm holiday area as well as the wider region of South Tyrol, providing a single-ticket access to all types of public transport, such as train and bus. The following services are included: - The Shuttle Bus Service of the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm (except bus routes 10, 11 and 12) - regional and local trains from Brennero as far as Trento and from Malles to San Candido - bus services throughout the province (town, suburban and city buses) - the Renon, Colle, Maranza, Meltina and Verano cable cars - the narrow track Renon railway and the Mendola cable railway - Malles and Zernez on a Swiss Postbus service - discount on Combi Card, Nordic Pass and Seiser Alm Card Gold (discount: 3 in 7 or 7 days = 2,00 €; 14 days = 4,00 €) The Guest Pass is valid for 7 days. Guests who have booked a longer stay, receive a second Guest Pass after 7 days. The Guest Pass is personal and non-transferable and need to be voided each time you travel. Dogs don‘t have the right to get the Guest Pass and have to pay the regular fare in the public bus services. The transfer of dogs in the shuttle busses is free of charge. If the Guest Pass receives the stamping unleserlich/illeggibile” (meaning “unreadable”) when it is voided, it is still valid that day. In the evening, it has to be substituted for a new Guest Pass by your accommodation.

Less waste - more nature Waste disposal in the Dolomites region Seiser Alm Use dedicated waste bins (glass, plastic, paper, cans, organic waste, etc.) when separating waste and organic waste in the communities Kastelruth, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten. How the organic waste collection works

Kitchen waste and similar organic waste go in the organic waste bin > food and leftovers > (rotten) fruit and vegetables > expired food > coffee grounds and tea bags > small quantities of meat and fish bones > cooked food > dairy products > production-related organic waste

What doesn’t go in the organic waste bin? > large bones and meat > egg, mussel, and nut shells, and fruit stones > aluminium foil, plastic > milk and juice cartons > nappies and hygiene waste > kitchen roll and paper napkins > ash and plastic bags > hoover bag, rubber, porcelain > wastepaper, waste glass, cans, and pollutants

When in doubt, ask your host. Littering and fly tipping in any shape or form is forbidden. If such a behaviour is observed, financial sanctions can be applied. Our mountain scenery is a delicate ecosystem. It is extremely important not to leave any rubbish behind: the climate conditions at this altitude slow down decomposition processes. Some waste, such as plastic, does not degrade at all. It merely disintegrates into microplastics, which stays in the environment. The best kind of waste is waste that is not produced in the first place.

Dog toilet Numerous dog-toilet stations provide plastic bags to dispose of your dog’s waste. It is obligatory to carry a supply of these bags with you and to dispose of the waste as soon as possible in a trash bin. It’s prohibited to dispose of the bags outdoors anywhere else.
