Dear partners, Although in many ways 2021 has been a challenging year with the continued disruptions caused by COVID-19, the Lord has been very gracious to Alpha Hong Kong as we had another strong year on the progress made. Launch of the New Marriage Course

With hybrid and online models continuing to work well, we were able to launch the new Marriage Course (in English and Cantonese), as well as make great progress in our Alpha Cantonese Teen Series (ACTS). I have to say the new Marriage Course made by Nicky and Sila Lee, is a true godsend. We have done it twice ourselves and feel it is so essential to any marriage, no matter which stage you are in. What a better way to love your friends than to invite them or do the course with them! It will strengthen any marriage and help to mitigate further marital problems. The ACTS project is nearing completion and we are excited for its launch in 2022. So much work has gone into the project and we would like to thank the Alpha staff and the production company who have worked tirelessly to make a top-notch product. Precious Alpha Family

Thank you as always for standing by us and supporting Alpha Hong Kong's work. During our December thanksgiving dinner, it really dawned on us the strength of the bonding for all those involved in Alpha. When you go through Alpha together, there is this special bond that binds us together. And no matter how long we have been apart, whenever we come together, it is like a "family reunion". Thank you for being part of the Alpha family. With the Lord's help, we hope to multiply your generosity down the generational lines to return 30, 60 and 100 folds.

We are also immensely encouraged by the stories we hear of people encountering Jesus through the tool of Alpha. We cannot thank you enough for your prayers and support which make all this possible. Amidst the emigration wave, we saw a surge of people using Alpha's Cantonese resources to spread the gospel wherever they go. Over 25% of all Cantonese Alpha ran in 2021 was done outside of Hong Kong. We remain committed to equipping people with the best possible Cantonese gospel resources so they can bring the good news anywhere they go. Reaching the Next Generation

We are excited that our brand-new Alpha Cantonese Teen Series (ACTS) will be launched in the first quarter of this year. We believe ACTS will be a powerful tool for churches and schools to reach the youth, occupying a unique position in Hong Kong where there is no other comparable gospel media tool customised for local students. In the past year, we have seen Alpha continuing to grow in all denominations. In particular, we are honoured to have the opportunity to work closely with the Catholic church in the creation of the Catholic-friendly track for ACTS. It is our privilege to have Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Ha Chi-Shing personally leading the effort. We deeply cherish this collaboration with the Catholic Church and believe it displays a picture of unity in the body of Christ. Thank you once again for your partnership.

The past year has shown us that nothing, not even a pandemic, could stop the good news from being brought to our friends and colleagues through the tool of Alpha. 過去一年讓我們清楚見到，沒有任何事物環境能夠攔阻福音廣傳，甚至疫情也不能阻止我們的朋友和同事透過啟發聽到福音。

I always imagined religious courses to be serious and uninteresting. But Alpha was not what I expected at all. It was intriguing and interactive, and I could get to know God through Alpha Online from the comforts of my own home. Alpha is an opportunity to explore life's big questions together in a relaxed and friendly environment. Alpha is typically run over 11 weeks, with each talk looking at a different question around faith that is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, online and in person. It is free and everyone is welcome.

HIGHLIGHTS 2021 年重點概覽感恩您帶來的影響

2021 was an impactful year for Alpha Hong Kong as we see people overcoming the limitations of COVID-19 to bring the gospel to their communities. We are also encouraged that many more people run Alpha than we know about and God is doing more than we can measure. 2021 是香港啟發極具影響力的一年。我們見證着信徒跨過疫情下的種種限制，將福音帶到他們的社區之中，使我們深受鼓舞，我們相信舉辦啟發的弟兄姊妹是超越我們所知曉的，天父的作為真是超越我們所能測度的。

I am a second-generation Christian so going to church was something natural to me. Yet I seldom think about why I should believe in Jesus. Participating in Alpha gave me the opportunity to examine my faith from different perspectives. In this day and age, it is easy to feel lost and be overwhelmed by anxiety and confusion. Alpha provided a platform for me to ask openended questions and rekindle my faith, which is all the more precious during this time of pandemic and societal unrest. 我是信二代，上教會是理所當然，很少思考為什麼要信耶穌。參加啟發令我重新開放不同角度去看信仰。在今天的社會越來越不如自己所想，也迷

Alpha for Grassroot Families 基層家庭的啟發

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hong Kong's most impoverished people suffered disproportionately and found themselves stuck further in poverty. Many churches responded to the situation by extending help to the underprivileged people. Through the provision of social services, such as food and mask distribution, churches had the opportunity to connect with grassroot and new immigrant families. But these churches not only wanted to see these families fed, they wanted them to know the eternal hope found in Jesus too. Churches found Alpha to be an effective evangelistic tool

for grassroot families. Alpha's videos are engaging and fun. Grassroot families found the content easy to understand. The interactive nature of Alpha also allowed these families to build friendships. We are excited to see many grassroot families coming to know Jesus through the tool of Alpha. Creative Hospitality 創意接待

Hospitality is at the heart of Alpha. We believe creating a welcoming environment sets the stage for people to build friendships as they journey together in Alpha. Although serving a meal at churches was no longer possible due to COVID-19 restrictions, we saw our partners using creative ways to overcome these barriers to connect with their guests. Some churches provided meal subsidies for Alpha leaders to eat with their guests at restaurants prior to Alpha. Churches also used thoughtful gifts, warm decoration and persistent prayers to convey the spirit of hospitality and connect with the guests. 接待新來賓是啟發的核心之一。我們確信營造一個輕鬆、友善、開放的環境能讓新來賓在啟發的旅程中互相建立友誼。

Inaugural Collaboration with the Catholic Church 首次與天主教會合作

We are honoured to have the opportunity to wor k closely with the Catholic church in the creation of the Catholic-friendly track for ACTS. It is our privilege to have Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Ha Chi-Shing personally leading the effort, vetting the script and giving us advice on the production. This collaboration enables Catholic churches and schools to use Alpha more effectively. We deeply cherish this collaboration with the Catholic Church and believe it displays a picture of unity in the body of Christ. 我們深感榮幸，有機會與天主教會緊密合作，聯合製作出天主教用語版本的

「啟發少青系列粵語版」，更榮獲天主教香港教區夏志誠輔理主教擔任顧問，親自監督天主教用語版本的文稿與製作。

WHAT LEADERS SAY ABOUT ALPHA 教會領袖的說話

Alpha is one of the most effective evangelistic tools to enable churches to live out the great commission. It can be used as a holistic and comprehensive strategy in a church's discipleship and evangelistic endeavours. T h ro u g h A l p h a , p a r t i c i p a n t s c a n d i s c u s s f a i t h related topics in an open and relaxed atmosphere, leading them into a personal relationship with Jesus. Alpha not only enables believers with different levels of spiritual maturity to participate in spreading the good news together, it also helps to build up the team and establish the believers as disciples. 啟發是適用於教會門徒造就與福音運動的整全策略和工具，算是與教會有序完成大使命的最好選擇之一。

We saw many workplace leaders creatively leveraging o n t h e o n l i n e p l a t f o r m t o s p re a d t h e g o s p e l d u r i n g COVID-19. Even though large-scale Alpha was no longer possible, the leaders used a combination of both physical a n d o n l i n e m o d e l t o re a c h t h e i r c o l l e a g u e s . Industry Mobilisation 更多行業被興起

Many industries were mobilised to run joint Alpha in 2021, including finance, healthcare, social welfare, accounting and legal industry. It was exciting to see different companies in the same industry joining hands to run Alpha together. Through Alpha, I've gained an understanding of Jesus. I used to think that Jesus is not a real person, but now I know that he is light. He embraces us, blesses us and shines over us. Students not only had the opportunity to learn English through the Alpha video and related exercises, they also learnt core values that form the basis of good character. Most importantly, they had the chance to hear the good news of Jesus. 在二零二一年，我們一些伙伴試行藉着啟發向基層學童教授英

語。他們邀請 Band 1 的學生幫助 Band 3 的學生，透過啟發影片及相關練習，同學們不但有機會學習英語，也能學習良好品格的核心價值觀。更為重要的，是他們可以聽聞主耶穌的福音。

Launch of the Marriage Course Remake in Cantonese 推出新版「美滿婚姻課程」粵語配音版本

A brand-new version of The Mar riage Course and The The Pre-Mar riage Course in Cantonese was launched in August 2021. These two courses have given over one million couples in 127 countries a renewed vision for a loving, lifelong mar riage. With updated contents and global stories, these courses will better equip churches to engage couples around the world and help them build stronger marriages.

Investing in a marriage takes time and effort. And this often takes a backseat with the clamour and busyness of everyday life sinking in. With the hope of blessing pastors in their marriage, we ran the brand-new Marriage Course with pastor couples in 2021. Pastors not only had the opportunity to experience 16

our new course, we also witnessed how their marriages were renewed and nurtured. 美滿婚姻需以時間和用心經營，但建立美滿婚姻的優次卻常被世務纏繞。

在二零二一年，我們特別開辦為牧者夫婦而設的美滿婚姻課程體驗，希望藉此祝福牧者的婚姻。在牧者們體驗新版課程的同時，我們更感恩見證着他們的婚姻被更新及滋養。

Collaboration with NGOs 與非牟利團體合作

In 2021, God opened doors for us to collaborate with a number of NGOs in our Parenting Courses. These collaborations not only expanded our network of partners, the synergy between Alpha and the other programmes also allowed us to offer more holistic care to help families to navigate a changing world. 在二零二一年，神藉着我們的「親子教育課程」打開了與一眾非牟利團體合作之門。這些合作不但擴闊了我們的伙伴網絡，當中的協作也讓我們能幫助許多家庭在急速變化的社會中得到更全面的關顧。

We experienced a renewal in our own mar riage after participating in The Mar riage Course. Not only has it improved our communication which can be easily neglected, but it also solved hidden problems that have been affecting our relationship for a long time. We thank God for equipping us with this tool so that we can help other couples to build better marriages. 我們參加美滿婚姻課程，有如經歷一個更新婚姻關係的旅程，不單改善了容易忽略的溝通表達，甚至解決了潛藏很久影響我們關係的問題。感恩神裝備我們繼續使用這課程，幫助其他夫婦建立更美滿的婚姻關係。

In 2021, we hosted a number of premieres to showcase ACTS to students, pastors, teachers and donors. Over 500 people came to experience ACTS and we are grateful for the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received. Overall, the audience gave ACTS a score of 8.8 out of 10. Story of the Paralysed Man One day, Rebecca learned that Alan had suddenly fainted on the street. It turned out he had meningitis and was in a coma for a few months. Rebecca went to visit him after he woke up. At that time, he was totally hopeless. His brain had activity but he could not move his limbs. He was only 48 years old. When the doctors told him he would not be able to walk again, he felt so despondent that he did not want to live anymore. Rebecca continued to visit him every week but had to stop when the pandemic hit. She knew he needed the hope of the gospel but how could she spread the good news when she could not even visit him. The turning point came when her church started running Alpha Online. Rebecca invited Alan to join. Since he could move his fingers, Alan managed to press his phone buttons to join Alpha Online from his nursing home. After the first few sessions, Alan came to experience the Holy Spirit and decided to commit his life to Jesus. During the session "Does God still heal today," he managed to stand up for the first time after his coma. Then he started to be able to walk a few steps. God not only healed his heart but his

Suet Wan wrestled with loneliness and poverty after she and her daughter moved to Hong Kong from Mainland China two years ago. Due to COVID-19, they rarely went out and had few friends in the city. However, everything changed when she was invited to join Alpha. She experienced the love of Jesus manifested through the church during Alpha. She worshipped idols for more than 30 years but she finally came to the realisation that the idols could not help her at all. Only Jesus can. Now she spends her time serving at the church to help others. 雪雲兩年前從中國大陸移居香港後，一直與女兒生活在孤單與貧苦

之中。因着疫情，她們甚少外出，在香港也相識無幾。自從她們被邀請參加啟發後，一切都改變了。透過教會她在啟發中經歷到耶穌的愛。她終於明白到拜了三十多年的偶像完全無能力幫助她，只有耶穌能夠。如今，她熱心在教會事奉，幫助更多的人。

Alpha brought me a sense of warmth. Everyone accepted me for who I am. I am very grateful to get to know Jesus. 啟發讓我感受到很溫暖，而且大家都很接納我，我很高興可以認識耶穌。
