about expansion, much has been discussed in National Council meetings about expansion, but unless we receive the enthusiastic and practical support of our alumnae and collegiate members we will not expand. During the past year every lead has been pursued, but the invariable question asked by D eans of Women has been, "D o you have a strong alumnae organization in this vicinity which can help a new chapter?" Bound up inextricably with expansion is the need of organized alumnae in th e vicinity of a campus where A~T would like to start a new chapter. Where we have few, scattered unorganized a lumnae, the possibility of obtaining new collegiate chapters is small. But the picture need not be e.ntirely discouraging. There are states where A~T has many organized alumnae. In these areas such a Michigan, Virginia, and Kansas to mention

a few, why not have your alumnae chapter adopt as your project for the coming year the expansion of A~T in your state? The first step would be to get two a lumnae to visit the D eans of Women of the colleges in your area. Traveling expenses will be paid by National and a form in this i ue of THE ANCHOR (page 3) can be mail ed to me. Week-days are be t to ee D ean , but ornetimes appointments can be made to ee them on Saturday. A report of th is visit should be ent to m e. Where the need of a new sorority on the campus is found- and v ith expa nding enrollment there are many uch places- the National and the local alumnae will join forces and work together for a strong, new chap ter of A ~T. Your orority has much to offer in the way of chara ter building, cultural program , and emphasi on good scholarship. If you can tra\ el for A~T, material will be upplied you to pre nt our orority to the D ea ns of Women . nle we can present our ororit in a fa\'orable light to coll ege authoritie b our a lumnae.
