Mrs. Peterson's Inspection
A Surprise for Our
Tour of the Southern
National President!
District ~
IN May I spent two delightful weeks inspecting the chapters in the southern district. I visited Omicron, Alpha Lambda, Zeta Tau, Psi, and Chi Chapters. This was my first visit to Alpha Lambda, Zeta Tau, and Chi. I was pleased to find all the chapters working cooperatively and functioning well both locally and nationally. Of course there were a few problems but no very serious ones. Virginia and West Virginia a re especially beautiful in the spring. All the colleges I visited are situated in lovely surroundings with the mountains in the background. The campuses are attractive and outsta nding. Everywhere I was received graciously and treated royally. Everyone was friendly and hospitable. I was happy to meet all the collegiate members of these chapters and many of the a lumnae and to become acquainted with the fine, loyal faculty advisers of these chapters. I have many pleasant memories of this inspection trip to cherish and to recall in the days to come. MARY ALICE PETERSON
Two Tape R ecorders to Facilitat the Mountain of Work She Accomplishes. Mrs. Peterson Writes h er Thanks"Recently Mr. and Mrs. Bernard McBee (Susie ) visited me here at Ash Acres and brought me, not one but two, tape recorders! (The second one is for my secretary's use.) I was comp letely surprised and overwhelmed. I greatly appreciate the generosity and thoughtfulness of those of you who made this gift to the national president possible, and I thank you sincerely and gratefully. The gift will make my work lighter and easier, and it will also be fun to use it. Again, I thank you for such a helpful a nd wonderful gift.
Affectionately and fraternally, MARY ALICE PETERSON
