Design Philosophy
足My philosophy is to design sustainable and functional spaces through the use of design strategies such as parametric design, environmental analysis, formal analysis, and Building Information Modeling tools. I believe good design goes beyond creating beautiful spaces, but also functional and enjoyable spaces that actively improve the environment around them. I believe that great design ultimately comes from the collaborative effort of a diverse and dedicated group of thinkers. My ultimate goal as a designer is to design environments that pull people in, making them want to interact and enjoy them, while also creating spaces that actively improve there surrounding context.

This is my Graduate Thesis project which I propose a Multi-Modal transit center to provide multiple modes of transportation throughout the city of Raleigh, NC as well as a single structure to houses them all. This hub is meant to improve the mobility of the population of Raleigh, one of the fastest growing cities in the Southeast. This hub also introduces public recreation areas to add to the usability of the area, creating a hub that people can use and enjoy. This way the hub acts as a public investment toward the well being of its pedestrians.

Building Geometry Development
This project is a comprehensive studio 4-5 in which I designed a Steel Museum for Pittsburgh, PA to inform the citizens and visitors to the city of its most influential product manufactured in the city early from in its inception. The program includes exhibit spaces which describe Pittsburgh’s steel manufacturing history as well as various exhibits for large and small pieces of Steel art. The program also includes a large lecture hall for events, plays, or lectures to occur.

URBAN REDEVELOPMENT OF SAVANNAH SOUTHSIDE This project was a redesign of Savannah’s South-side which is currently host to Hunter Army Airfield. This redesign aims to create a new Urban development that would replace the existing land with a vibrant southern addition to downtown Savannah. The Design aims to establish a plan for the growth of the area through the implementation of phases of development as well as room for even further expansion if necessary. My goal was to create a design which uses characteristics of downtown Savannah’s squares in a more modern and functional manner.

This project is a small Coastal Education Center and Aquarium for a site near Tybee Island, off the coast of Savannah GA. The program for this design includes a pedestrian and vehicular bridge that acts to connect the 6 mile railroad line that has been converted into a scenic walkway to the site. This project is meant to connect Savannah and Tybee Island and is meant to educate the local people and visitors of the importance of the coastal wetlands that make up the islands and how to best keep it as healthy as possible. The skin of the structure was inspired by the lighting effect that a canopy of leaves in a forest can create through the many layers that act to diffuse and reflect the suns rays. The project was also designed to fix the very noticeable disconnect in the area between the natural wetland landscape, coastal landscape, and the built environment. 16

In this project I designed a Multi-Modal Transit Center complete with retail areas, car and bike rental shops, a food court, and a mid-rise office tower. The site is located in the North-West corner of Charlotte’s fourth downtown ward. The site is host to a high speed train route, public bus routes both local and regional, and a public trolley system.

In this project I design a Transit Station and Cafe in downtown Savannah, GA complete with an adult and children’s dance studio, a retail area, and an indoor cafe. The site for the project is located at the intersection of Montgomery St. and Ogelthorpe Ave. This area is planned to have work done to change the traffic patterns in order to fix a major transit issues caused by the existing I-16 exit ramp, which currently feeds traffic directly into an already heavily used area in front of the Convention Center
