Por by y Patricia Howell Cuando Meg van Amstel empezó a soñar con la construcción de Blueport Altea, ella ya ocupaba un papel de liderazgo en la Costa Blanca. Meg había vivido muchos años en Altea, comenzando de cero en el mundo de la promoción inmobiliaria y de allí fue escalando poco a poco, con duro trabajo, paciencia y esa determinación que la ha llevado a la cima. Es así que finalmente se asocia con Altea Hills Estate, y decide dar el gran salto: la puesta en marcha del exquisito proyecto Blueport Altea.

¿qué es blueport?

Blueport es un proyecto residencial que comprende la creación de diez villas majestuosas e independientes.

Cada residencia consta de 500 metros cuadrados de construcción, distribuidos en tres grandes niveles.

El primer nivel contiene las áreas sociales y el dormitorio principal.

Una terraza monumental de frente a la Bahía, con una piscina desbordante, circunda toda la casa y es garantía segura para pasar momentos inolvidables bajo el influjo marino. Los grandes ventanales se aprovechan de las vistas gloriosas y las hacen integrarse a todos los rincones de la casa.

what is blueport?

Blueport is a project consisting in the creation of ten exclusive detached villas.

Each villa has at least 500 square meters construction distributed in 3 levels.

The top level comprises the social areas and the en-suite master bedroom.

An ocean-front terrace that overlooks Altea Bay surrounds this level, and its enhanced by a crystal clear infinity pool, a wonderful feature for alfresco gatherings savoured against the sapphire ocean waters; vast windows take full advantage of the breathtaking beauty of the scenario and make it part of every angle of the house.

In addition, thanks to this technology, a perfect record of the works measurements, item by item, gives much precision to budgeting.

A las diez de la noche de un generoso verano, en la terraza del Restaurante D'els Artistes, una mujer menuda y elegante se mueve con agilidad entre las mesas y la entrada. Es Helen. Una sonrisa amplia y un estilo afectuoso y personal la acompañan en todo momento. Helen sabe que salir a cenar fuera de casa es una experiencia que desborda los límites del simple comer, y que se adentra en el placer de conversar, de saborear un buen vino, de ser bien atendido, de disfrutar del ambiente y claro que sí, de saborear una comida gloriosa. Y ella se encarga, desde afuera, de hacerlo todo posible para que el ritual se consagre.

Adentro, en la cocina, un mago prepara la comida. Roland Broggi, el Chef del Restaurante D'els Artistes y marido de Helen.

Nacido literalmente en el restaurante de sus padres, Roland accede a la cocina desde su más tierna infancia. Aromas, colores y sabores, aunados a las risas y congojas propias de una gran cocina, discurren por sus venas como un hecho natural.

Ya en la adolescencia movido por una sed de mayor conocimiento, emprende su formación académica en el arte culinario y se inserta en las más prestigiosas cocinas de

Suiza, donde inspirado en el conocimiento de los grandes maestros, Roland arranca una carrera que lo lleva a la cumbre en la que solo se encuentran los mejores.

Luego de muchos y largos años de intenso trabajo, y motivados por la necesidad de romper con las tensiones propias de una profesión que lo demanda todo, Helen y Roland deciden pasar página e irse a viajar en bicicleta por Europa. Seis años duró su viaje, recorriendo más de cien kilómetros al día. Ese viaje los trajo a Altea y el azul los cautivó. En 2002 resuelven tomar en arriendo el Restaurante D'els Artistes y probar. Y se quedaron.

Es frecuente ver a Roland en el mercadillo, escogiendo los mejores pescados, las mejores hortalizas, las mejores carnes para nutrir su cocina. Es frecuente también encontrar a Helen preparando el decorado, el blancor de los linos, el color de las flores, el olor de las velas... Esta es la fusión que se encuentra en el Restaurante D'els Artistes.

Una fusión que Helen y Roland personifican cada día en el teatro mágico del restaurante y que los sostiene vitales y juntos, y prodigando cada uno sus virtudes.

At 22.00 hours during a nice summer night an elegant slim lady moves around on the terrace of the restaurant D’els Artistes: Helen. She offers her guests a big smile and a personal touch in the treatment because she is aware of the fact that having a dinner in a restaurant does not only mean to have some food. The guests love conversation, good wine, an excellent service, an agreeable ambience and of course selected dishes. And Helen serves it all.

In the kitchen it’s a magician who creates the dishes: Roland Broggi, Helen’s husband.

He was literally born in the restaurant of his parents, so that he sensed aromas, colors and different tastes from his first days on.

They flow in his veins as naturally as the art of cooking with its contradictory feelings of apprehension and glory.

As he grew older he wanted to get more and more skill in the art of cooking and therefore he worked in the most famous restaurants of Switzerland. He took advantage of his masters’ know-how and step by step he made his way to the top of culinarian art.

After many years of hard work the couple decided to stop this tiring routine. They wanted to open a new page in their life. For

six long years they discovered Europe by bicycle, making more than 100 kilometers per day. Finally they arrived an Altea where the blue atmosphere overwhelmed and caught them forever.

In 2.002 they rented the restaurant D’els Artistes in order to see if they liked it.

They did.

You can often see Roland on the market where he chooses the best fish, the best vegetables and the best meat for his kitchen. You can also see Helen arranging the decoration, the white linnen table cloth, the colour of the flowers, the perfume of the candles.

It is this superb combination that you find at D’els Artistes, a partnership between Helen and Roland that keeps them young and efficient to the advantage of their select clientèle..

Achilles se encuentra también en una etapa de exploración interior, en la que la búsqueda espiritual ha comenzado a ocupar una importante parte de su vida.

Achilles de Naeyer tiene una casa en Altea, la ciudad de la luz, donde muy a menudo va a descansar, a pensar y a disfrutar de la vida. Fue allí, en su casa, con una hermosa vista a la soleada Bahía, que sostuvimos esta conversación. ¿Quién eres tu? ¿Cómo te describes a ti mismo?

Esa es una pregunta complicada porque yo uso varios sombreros. Normalmente digo que estoy retirado de los negocios, pero lo cierto es que mantengo operaciones financieras en todo el mundo, principalmente en agricultura y sobre todo en África y América Latina; también soy consultor en actividades de distribución y logística en Europa. Esto es fundamentalmente lo que hago, pero de una manera más relajada.

Los problemas cotidianos de las empresas los lleva mi familia, en eso ya yo no estoy, pero sí me mantengo muy dinámico en los aspectos financieros y el movimiento general de mis inversiones.

OK, eso es lo que hago, pero quién soy yo?

Esa pregunta es difícil de responder Sé que soy una persona difícil, no escucho suficientemente a los demás, mi mente va muy rápido y tiendo a imponer mis ideas. Ahora estoy aprendiendo a escuchar más, sobre todo en los últimos años. Con mucha paciencia y cariño, mi ex esposa Helga y mi nueva compañera Thea, una verdadera artista, me han ayudado para que logre entrar más en contacto con mis sentimientos... esa es una parte de mí que yo había venido relegando, ¿sabes? Yo había sustituido los sentimientos por los negocios. Ahora sé que necesito entregarme más a la gente a nivel emocional, si no lo hago, pierdo a los que quiero, y más aún, no aprendo nada sobre el verdadero sentido de los negocios, que tiene menos que ver con dinero y más con participar en la construcción de un mejor mundo.

El año pasado, cuando mi madre murió, me di cuenta de la gran influencia que ella había tenido en mí en este sentido. Mi madre vivió durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, atravesó tiempos muy duros y se volvió una mujer pragmática. Me decía que los sentimientos no tenían nada que ver con la supervivencia, y aunque ella se desvivía por mí y por mi padre, no se cuidaba a sí misma. Esa actitud suya inconscientemente me marcó.

Por otra parte, reconozco que tengo el atributo de poseer con una gran intuición.

Puedo ver lo que traerá el futuro, es como un instinto, una característica muy positiva en mí. Y tomo decisiones rápidas. Si algo me suena bien, voy a por ello inmediatamente, si espero para pensarlo, no funciona. Claro que he cometido errores, pero yo diría que ocho de cada diez decisiones que he tomado en mis negocios han tenido éxito.

Quizás esto me viene porque yo tuve un comienzo duro. Dejé mi casa siendo muy joven y no fui a la universidad ni hice ningún estudio académico, sino que entré directamente al mercado, en un ambiente en el que si cometes un error quedas fuera.

En esas circunstancias uno desarrolla un instinto muy agudo, en los negocios y también con la gente, aprendes a saber en quien confiar...

Hablemos de tu carrera, ¿Cómo empezaste?

Tus pasos, tus mayores logros...

Yo nací en Bruselas, en la ciudad de Amberes, en el año 1938, justo antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Cuando empezó la guerra huimos a Francia para escapar de la amenaza de una captura y deportación a Alemania, donde ponían a la gente a hacer trabajo forzado en sus fábricas. En Francia vivimos clandestinamente con la resistencia francesa.

Esos fueron tiempos muy duros, muy peligrosos, vivíamos al límite. Mi padre, que tenía una gran habilidad con los papeles, colaboraba en la falsificación de permisos alemanes, que ayudaban a la resistencia francesa y a los pilotos británicos a huir a España y a Portugal. Esos fueron los tiempos en que aprendí qué es pasar hambre, y me prometí a mí mismo que cuando fuera mayor, ni mis padres ni yo, nunca más volveríamos a pasar necesidades.

Cuando se terminó la guerra en 1944, regresamos a pie a Bélgica, sin un centavo, solo con la ropa y algo de comida, pero con el sentimiento de que las cosas solamente podrían mejorar, y de que un nuevo comienzo en la vida nos daría la fortaleza para dejar atrás las pesadillas del pasado.

en t r ev i s t a s Años más tarde, cuando egresé del instituto, mis padres querían que estudiara una carrera respetable en la universidad: leyes o medicina. Pero yo les dije: “No, déjenme primero hacer el servicio militar y luego tomaré una decisión”. Lo que pasa es que la experiencia del ejército es muy fuerte, uno se hace mayor allí, y ya cuando volví a casa, no quería ir a la universidad, quería probar la verdadera vida, y eso fue lo que hice. Mi padre, que estaba trabajando con Chiquita Brands, me aconsejó que me fuera para Hamburgo. Comenzaban los años sesenta.

La actividad económica estaba efervescente en Alemania. Habían perdido la guerra, pero fueron los primeros en poner orden al caos, muy rápido, muy intensamente, la gente trabajaba durísimo en ese tiempo.

En Hamburgo me presenté a un trabajo con una compañía importadora de frutas y lo conseguí. Y luego de un año de mucho trabajo, el dueño de la compañía me entregó una chequera y me dijo: “Quiero que vayas por todo el mundo y que me envíes patatas, cebollas, plátanos, manzanas, cítricos...” Esa fue mi verdadera escuela, mi universidad durante los siguientes tres años; visitar países, negociar, comprar, supervisar calidad, hacer los envíos. Crecí muy rápido, estaba solo con la responsabilidad, a nadie le podía preguntar cosas, no existía el e-mail en ese tiempo, era yo y mis propias decisiones.

Primeros triunfos Uno de los logros más exitosos de mi carrera en ese tiempo fue Marruecos.

Empezamos trabajando con ellos cuando aún eran colonia francesa, pero luego se independizaron y Hassan II se convirtió en el productor de frutas más importante del país. Pero yo me di cuenta de que si bien la producción es importante, la distribución lo es aún más, pues sólo así se alcanza al consumidor final. No importa quién sea el dueño de la producción. Si tú eres fuerte en distribución, los productores siempre tendrán necesidad de ti. Así es que arrancamos negocios y llegamos a ser muy grandes allí. Alcanzamos a tener los derechos exclusivos para la distribución de toda la fruta marroquí en Europa, Canadá y Norte América. Fue un éxito total.

“Me mantengo muy dinámico en los aspectos financieros y el movimiento general de mis inversiones”.

Achilles empresario Al cabo de tres años decidí trasladarme de Hamburgo a Roterdam. El flujo del mercado estaba cambiando y ahora era Roterdam el centro neurálgico de la actividad.

Alli fundé mis primeras compañías: Ftk Holland, Ftk Hamburg y Trofi Hamburg, entre otras; y a partir de ese momento todo empezó a florecer.

Nosotros iniciamos la importación y la distribución del kiwi, una fruta que casi nadie conocía en Europa. La gente me decía que estaba loco al embarcarme en semejante aventura, pero muy pronto demostró ser una iniciativa muy gratificante.

También desarrollamos una super red de importación y distribución de frutas provenientes del continente africano. Costa de Marfil, Mali, Alto Volta (Burkina Faso), Senegal, Kenya, Zimbabwe y Sudáfrica se convirtieron en nuestros grandes abastecedores de piña, mango, plátanos, uvas, manzanas y peras, y gran diversidad de vegetales. Y posteriormente entramos también en Brasil, Argentina y Chile.

Al llegar los años ochenta, estábamos en la cima como especialistas en la importación y distribución de frutas exóticas provenientes de todo el mundo. Yo recuerdo que en cierto momento trabajábamos con más de 50 productos de 38 países. Eran los días en los que yo dormía más en aviones y en camas de hotel que en mi propio hogar...

Punto de giro 1988 fue un año muy importante para mí.

Yo había estado casado durante 25 años, y durante todo ese tiempo mi atención estaba solo en los negocios, mientras que mi esposa Helga, era una persona más espiritual, más evolucionada que yo.

Nuestros dos hijos ya eran independientes, vivían aparte, Pero ella y yo estábamos creciendo por caminos muy diferentes. Así es que un día decidimos que lo mejor sería que cada uno tomara su propia dirección.

Nos divorciamos, pero como buenos amigos. Helga prosiguió su desarrollo, se especializó en homeopatía, y yo continué con negocios y más negocios.

Pero poco a poco las cosas empezaron a cambiar en mi interior. Estaba divorciado, mi padre había muerto, mi hijo se había marchado a Norteamérica, mi hija no estaba interesada en asumir mis empresas, y algo me empezó a ocurrir a mí, no sé cómo decirlo en palabras. Vendí todas mis empresas y bajé completamente el ritmo de mis actividades, y entonces empecé a tener más tiempo para pensar. No sabía qué hacer conmigo mismo. Me sentía muy vacío. ¿Qué hacer? ¿Ir de pesca en el día y tener una fiesta cada noche? No. Eso no era para mí.

Comencé a ser consciente de que hay otras cosas en la vida más allá de los negocios. Empecé a mirar hacia atrás, aún sin realmente saber lo que buscaba... y me di cuenta de que África me había dado muchísimo... Entonces, me dije, ¿qué tal si puedo devolverle a África algo de lo mucho que me ha dado?

Así comenzó todo, en 1997.

Who are you? How would you describe yourself?

That is a difficult question because I wear various jackets. Normally I say I am a retired businessman, but I still have some operational investments, mainly in agriculture all over the world, but especially in Africa and South America, and I am also advising on distribution and logistics in Europe. That is basically what I do but on easy going basis, I am not operational any more, the everyday life of the business is done by family members. But I am very active and interested in the finances and the global movement of my investments.

OK, that is what I do, but, who am I? That is difficult to answer.

I know I am a difficult person, I do not listen well enough, I think very fast and I tend to over rule people by doing this… so I am learning to listen better, specially over the last few years… The patience and care of my ex-wife Helga and my new partner Thea, a true artist, very sensitive, very deep, are guiding me to be more in touch with my feelings, because I have skipped that part of me a lot. You see? I had replaced feelings with business… and now I know that I need to be more emotionally involved, otherwise I lose friends and people, and I learn very little about the real meaning of business, which for me now, has less to do with money and more to do with contributing to build a better world.

When my mother passed away last year, I begun to realize the deep influence that she had on me in this regard… she lived during the Second World War, she went through rough times, and she became very pragmatic, she used to say, emotions are one thing but another thing is survival… She was always doing everything for me and for my father, but neglecting herself, really, and this attitude, unconsciously, shaped me in many ways…

On the other hand, I can say that I am gifted with a great intuition. I can see what the future will bring. I would call it an instinct, a very positive characteristic of mine. I am a very fast decision maker. If something feels right, I go for it immediately, and when I take too long to think, it doesn’t work. Of course I have made mistakes, but I would say that eight out of ten of my decisions in business have gone well…

This probably comes from the fact that I had it the rough way. I left home at a very early age and I didn’t go to University or made studies… I went straight into the market, worked in a tough environment where, when you make mistakes, you are out… so you develop a sharp instinct. Also with people, who to trust or associate with…

Let’s talk about your professional development. How did it all begin? Your steps, your major accomplishments?

I was born in Belgium, in Antwerp in 1938, just before the Second World War. But when the war begun we fled to France to live under cover with the Maquis, the French Resistance, escaping capture and deportation to Germany to do force labour in their factories. That time in France was very hard, dangerous; we were really living on the edge. My father was an accountant and very good at paperwork and he was helping the resistance by issuing false “German passes” which enable French underground people and British pilots to get out of the country to Spain and Portugal and escape from the Germans. Those were the times when I learnt what it meant to be hungry and when I promised myself that when I grew up, I would make sure that neither my parents nor myself would ever have a shortage of food again.

When the War was over in 1944 we walked by foot to Belgium, with just our clothes, a little bit of food and no money, but with the feeling that things could only improve and a new start in life would give us the spirit to leave all the worries and nightmares behind us.

Some years later, when I left school my parents wanted me to go to University to study something respectful, maybe medicine or law… But I said: “No, let me do the army service first and then I will make a decision”.

The army experience was rough, you become a man there… and when I came back home, I did not wish to go to University, I wanted to taste life… So, my father who was working for Chiquita at the time, advised me to go to Hamburg.

These were the early sixties. Germany was booming in those years. They had lost the War but they were the first ones to put things in order, very rapidly, intensively, people worked very hard there in those years.

In Hamburg I applied for a job with a fruit importer and I got it. And after a year of hard work, the owner of the company gave me his check book and said: I want you to travel all over the world and buy food crops, citrus, apples, bananas, potatoes, onions... And that was my real school, my university for the next 3 years. Travelling, trading, dealing with people, buying food, shipping food, I grew very fast, I was on my own, nobody I could ask things, there was no e-mail at that time, it is only you and your decisions.

Success Perhaps one of most successful moves I made was in Morocco. We started dealing with them when they were still under French rule. But later, they became independent and Hassan II became the new owner of the biggest fruit farms there. However, I realized that production is important but the most important thing is that you have the distribution and retail business to reach directly the end consumer. It does not matter who owns the production. If you are strong

in distribution, the production will always need you! So, I made business with them and we became very strong there. We had the exclusive distribution rights for all kinds of Moroccan fruit all over Europe, Canada, and North America… It was a real success story.

Turning point.

Own companies

were growing in very different directions and therefore we decided that it was better for the two of us to go our own way. So we divorced like good friends. It was not a divorce where you leave your children abandoned or something…

After those 3 years, I decided to move from Hamburg to Rotterdam. The business flow was changing and Rotterdam was beginning to boom…

Then I started my own companies, Ftk Holland, Ftk Hamburg And Trofi Hamburg, among others, and since then, it all began to flourish for us.

We initiated the import and distribution of kiwi fruit from New Zealand, a fruit that nobody knew at the time in Europe. People thought we were crazy embarking on this business but it soon proved to be a major accomplishment.

We also set off a big network of import and distribution of products from the African Continent. The Ivory Coast, Mali, Upper Volta, Senegal, Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa became major suppliers of pineapples, mangoes, banana, many different vegetables, grapes, apples and pears. And later, we begun to make business in South America too, in countries like Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

By the early eighties we were one of the top specialists in the import and distribution of exotic fruits from all over the world.

I remember that at a certain stage we were dealing with approximately 50 different products from 38 countries.

That was a time where I slept more in planes and hotels than in my own home.

1988 was a very important year for me.

I had been married for 25 years and all that time, I was only focused on business and my wife, Helga, was very spiritual, far ahead of me… We had 2 children and by then, they were already adults and were living independently. But my wife and me

Since then Helga developed even more and became a homeopathic doctor and I kept going business, business, business…

But things inside me slowly started to change. I was divorced, then my father passed away, my son had gone to America, my daughter did not want to take over the business and something started to happen to me. I cannot give it words. That is when I scaled down, sold all my companies and started to think more…

I did not know what to do with myself. I was feeling very empty, what to do? Go fishing and have a party every day, no, that was not for me…

I realized that there were other things in life than just business, but I did not know quite what… It was then when I begun to look back on my life and thought… I have gotten so much from Africa, so, why not give something back to Africa?

That is when it all started… in 1997 (Follow the second part in next edition)

Las Nereidas eran a menudo avistadas por los marineros, cantando y danzando, coronadas con ramos de coral y montadas en la espalda de nobles delfines. Los griegos las adoraban en altares al frente del mar, donde les ofrecían leche, miel y aceites de especias.

El circuito de golf alto standing eligió al club de golf Don Cayo para desarrollar un magnífico torneo con Meg Van Amstel y una red de patrocinadores. El grupo de golfistas estuvo altamente motivado por excelentes premios e incentivos entre los que se destacó un viaje en el barco catamarán Lagoon 380 y una comida bufet de agasajo. Apenas se abrieron las inscripciones el torneo estuvo lleno y la experiencia fue de gran satisfacción.

El ayuntamiento de Altea se hizo presenta a través de la presencia del Secretario de Cultura y de Deportes.

El tiempo acompañó y los jugadores pudieron lucir su habilidad en un torneo reñido y a la vez divertido.

The group of golf players was highly motivated by wonderful awards and incentives like a Catamaran Lagoon 380 boat trip and a bufet meal. As soon as the lists opened, the tournament was full and it was a highly satisfying experience for everybody involved.

La velada fue especialmente interesante puesto que Meg van Amstel presentó su ambicioso programa de crear en las colinas de Altea diez fincas de ensueño: el proyecto Blueport Altea, en una de las regiones de mayor prestigio de la costa alicantina.

Copas de cava y apetitosas tapas servidas a la sombra de unos magnificos arboles del club de golf don Cayo amenizaron la velada.

Alli se encontraron importantes personalidades de la Costa Blanca que se felicitaron por tener la oportunidad de saludar a un prestigioso representante del mundo del deporte y tambien a un hombre que se dedica a ayudar a sus prójimos, especialmente a los niños para que encuentren un modo de vida sano.

La fundación Richard Krajicek, que el dirige personalmente, se dedica al desarrollo del deporte. En el año 2.000 Krajicek ganó el premio ATP Arthur Ashe en reconocimiento de sus esfuerzos para ayudar a la juventud de su pais en este ámbito.

Richard Krajicek nació en el año 1.971 en Holanda como hijo de inmigrantes checos. A la temprana edad de cuatro años empezó el tenis y se granjeó el imponente palmarés de 17 titulos individuales hasta llegar a la cima del número 4 del ranking mundial.

Tambien es el autor de algunos famosos libros sobre el deporte en los que transmite sus conocimientos y experiencias a los lectores.

Wimbledon en 1.996 y que dirige en la actualidad el ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament de Rotterdam, fue invitado de honor en el Golf Clinic que tuvo lugar en el club de golf don Cayo de Altea.

This activity, organized by alto standing in conjunction with Meg van Amstel and the Blueport Altea project, forms part of the numerous events orchestrated in Spain within the Communication Programme that Alto Standing offers to its selected clientele.

The idea behind it is to promote an agile, easy going and effective way of generating business relationships by enlarging a network of people with similar interests.

The event was enhanced by the presentation of the Blueport Altea project, from Meg van Amstel, which aims to create ten dreamlike villas in Altea Hills, one of the most prestigious settings on the Alicante coast.

Cava and delicate appetizers offered under the generous tree shades of don Cayo golf course, highlighted the gathering.

The Golf Clinic attracted a group of diverse and interesting people from the Costa Blanca, not only motivated by the chance of meeting a renowned character of the world of sports, but also a man who has devoted himself to help others, specially children, to find a healthy way of life.

In fact, the Richard Krajicek Foundation, run by him, is dedicated to build sports facilities

for children, and in 2000 Krajicek was given the ATP Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for his efforts to help youth in his home country.

Born in 1971 in The Netherlands, as the son of Czech immigrants, Richard Krajicek began playing tennis at the age of four and since then on, he successfully escalated to the top, winning 17 singles titles and becoming the number 4 in world.

He has also authored various well known sport books, where he transmits his knowledge and experiences and provides interesting tips to the world of his readers.

Richard Krajicek, his wife Daphne Deckers, model, actress and book writer, and their children, are often seen on the Costa Blanca, where they are planning to build a house and spend as much time as they possibly can.

We love it here, says Krajicek. It’s the blue, the people, the culture, the general atmosphere where you can enjoy simplicity and sophistication at the same time. I am very glad that I was invited to give this Golf Clinic, where you can exchange and get to know new people… I sincerely encourage the organizers to continue on this track.
