The unique, studded surface on the underside of the product allows the floor to go down flat and stay flat, without the need for an adhesive.
With Altro’s double-sided, moisture-tolerant tape, the floor edges and joints are secured in place while being installed, coved and welded. With no adhesive, there is no drying time and no resulting odours.
Allowing the subfloor to breathe, installations can be quicker and easier as no dampproof membrane is required. With Altro’s range of adhesive-free flooring, you can halve installation time compared with a traditional installation.

Recofloor
Altro is a co-founder of Recofloor, the industry’s vinyl take-back scheme, which collects safety and smooth vinyl off cuts and uplifted smooth vinyl, and diverts them from landfills. The adhesive-free technology allows easy uplift and recycling or reuse as no adhesive is glued to the back of the material.
• Recofloor has collected and recycled more than 4,600 tonnes of vinyl flooring over the last 10 years. That’s enough to cover 200 football pitches!

Issue
Amana Living is a premium aged care service who provide their residents with first class facilities and care. The welfare of their residents is always their main priority. The community lounge at Moline Village, Karrinyup was ready for an upgrade. They had an existing vinyl plank floor that had been installed for many years and was in need of an update, however there were a few challenges they faced. They needed to ensure there was minimal disruption to the residents and staff while the installation took place, while requiring a quick turnaround period, with minimal noise, dust and unpleasant odours.
Approach
Altro Wood™ adhesive-free was chosen due to its fast installation process and having ‘no adhesive odours’. As the facility was looking for a product that gave them. minimal downtime and a fast installation, selecting Altro Wood™ adhesive-free was an obvious selection.
