A tiempo de otorgarle la bienvenida a bordo de Amaszonas, quiero compartir un nuevo destino de las aerolíneas de nuestro grupo. Desde el 5 de octubre tenemos el gusto de llegar a Buenos Aires, la capital argentina que verá a nuestras aeronaves aterrizar en el aeropuerto Jorge Newbery, más conocido como Aeroparque, ubicado cómodamente en las cercanías del centro bonaerense. A través de nuestra aerolínea Amaszonas Uruguay tendremos dos vuelos diarios entre Montevideo y Buenos Aires para que los pasajeros de ambas ciudades tengan una nueva alternativa de conexión aérea, bajo los conceptos que dirigimos en Amaszonas de eficientes y cómodos horarios, agilidad en embarque y desembarque, cordialidad y atención sin demoras, entre algunos de nuestros atributos. Con este nuevo destino damos inicio formalmente a las actividades de la aerolínea Amaszonas Uruguay, empresa uruguaya que desde Montevideo está construyendo una eficiente conectividad regional. Con Amaszonas Uruguay estamos caminando a paso firme y constante para que el pasajero de este país confíe plenamente en su aerolínea. Las dos capitales del Río de La Plata estarán más conectadas que nunca con este nuevo servicio, que durante la temporada de verano también tendrá la conexión directa Buenos Aires–Punta del Este para fortalecer el flujo turístico. Adicionalmente, esta ruta Montevideo-Aeroparque se complementará con la red de destinos propios con que contamos desde Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia y Chile, aunque también estamos generando otros destinos de conectividad en Brasil, para continuar desarrollando nuestro modelo regional. As I welcome you aboard, I want to share news of the most recent destination for the airlines of our group. As of October 5, we have the pleasure of reaching Buenos Aires - the capital of Argentina will see our planes land at the Jorge Newbery Airport (more commonly known as Aeroparque), comfortably located near the center of Buenos Aires. Through our airline Amaszonas Uruguay, we offer two daily flights between Montevideo and Buenos Aires, allowing passengers of both cities to have a new alternative for air connections, all falling within the concepts that we value at Amaszonas which are efficient and comfortable schedules, quickness in boarding and disembarkation, and politeness and service without delay, among others. Additionally, this route from Montevideo to Aeroparque will complement the network of destinations that we have in Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and Chile. La selección de La Paz, a través de la asociación municipal de esa disciplina deportiva, categoría sub 12, fue transportada en Amaszonas para participar del evento. Los entusiastas adolescentes disfrutaron del vuelo y de la cordialidad de la tripulación. La estatua ecuestre de José Gervasio Artigas, el máximo prócer del Uruguay, domina la Plaza Independencia en Montevideo. El paseo se encuentra justo en el límite entre la “Ciudad Vieja” y la zona central, lo que antes se conocía como “Ciudad Nueva”. Diseñada en 1837 por Carlo Zucchi, fue modificada en 1860 por Bernardo Poncini. En su centro se puede acceder al mausoleo subterráneo que en una urna conservaba los restos de Artigas. Hacia el oeste se levanta la Puerta de la Ciudadela, testimonio del Montevideo colonial. En la acera este, está la esquina de la avenida 18 de Julio, la vía más importante de la capital uruguaya, cuyos tres kilómetros pueden ser recorridos a pie. The equestrian statue of Jose Gervasio Artigas, a most famous citizen of Uruguay, dominates the Plaza Independencia in Montevideo. This area is found just at the border of the “Old City” and the central area, what was once called the “New City”. Designed in 1837 by Carlo Zucchi, it was altered in 1869 by Bernardo Poncini. In the center you can reach the underground mausoleum, where the remains of Artigas have been conserved. To the west is the Puerta de la Ciudadela, witness to colonial Montevideo. LA 9 DE JULIO Y SU OBELISCO
La avenida 9 de Julio es la vía más ancha del mundo (140 m) y la principal arteria de Buenos Aires. Lleva su nombre en honor al día de la declaración de independencia del país, efectuada el 9 de julio de 1816. En el cruce con la avenida Corrientes se ubica la Plaza de la República, donde se encuentra el Obelisco, ícono bonaerense. Mide 67,5 m y fue inaugurado en 1936 para recordar el cuarto centenario de la primera fundación de la ciudad.

The avenue, 9 de Julio is the widest road in the world (140 m) and it is the main thoroughfare of Buenos Aires. It takes its name in honor of the day the country declared independence, which was on July 9, 1816. The intersection with the Corrientes Avenue is where the Plaza de la Republica is found which houses the Obelisk, an icon of Buenos Aires. It measures 67.5 meters and was inaugurated in 1936 to remember the fourth centennial of the founding of the city.

Amaszonas te lleva a partir de octubre a la urbe considerada como una de las más hermosas del mundo, donde reinan los teatros, los museos, las antigüedades y la vida callejera. In her historical center, the city of Potosi conserves incredible places from the colonial and republican eras. One of these is the ancient nunnery of the Carmelita Descalza Sisters, founded in 1685, under the devotion to Santa Teresa de Jesus. It guards the treasures and stories of these religious women from their years of total devotion to God. A tour of the convent of Santa Teresa, as it is also called, starts in the room where parents would say goodbye to their second daughters when they had 30
just turned 15. The goodbye was final, because the young women would never again see their families. En 1975, un prácticamente desconocido Steven Spielberg lanzó al enorme océano cinematográfico Tiburón, una película sobre un monstruo que atacaba a pescadores y veraneantes de un apacible pueblo en Nueva Jersey. La cinta fue un taquillazo y sirvió de modelo de negocio para otras películas (hace poco se estrenó Miedo en lo profundo), aunque también horrorizó a los científicos expertos en tiburones por representar falsamente al “gran blanco” como un cazador de humanos. Pero, ¿de dónde sacó Spielberg esta terrorífica historia? In 1975, the practically unknown Steven Spielberg launched himself into the huge ocean of cinematography with Jaws the movie about a monster that attacks fishermen and beachgoers in a gentle New Jersey town. The movie was a huge success and served as a model for other movies (recently Fear in the Deep) although it also gave horror to shark science experts who said it falsely represented the great white shark as a hunter of humans. But, where did Spielberg get the idea for this story of terror? Jaws was based on a novel by Peter Benchley that had the same title as the movie (the book was published in 1974). The book itself was inspired by the events from 100 years ago, when during vacation season a 2.7 meter fish caused death along the beaches of the Atlantic. This news knocked WWI from the front page in the USA, and when it was over, it became myth. Since then, swimming in the ocean has never been the same.

Roboré fue fundada para ser fortín militar y pascana (lugar de descanso) entre las poblaciones de San José y Puerto Suárez. Roboré was founded as a military fort and pascana (resting place) between the towns of San José and Puerto Suárez. La “Perla del Oriente” es su eslogan más conocido, pero Roboré tiene muchos: “paraíso escondido”, “sucursal del cielo” y hasta “Miami en chiquitito”, seguramente afinado para aludir al sol y calor reinante en esta ciudad casi todo el año. Este 25 de octubre estará de fiesta: celebrará 100 años de fundación, allá, en medio de serranías verdes y coloradas, y ríos y cascadas que la hacen atractiva a turistas de diversas nacionalidades. En el centro de la urbe de aproximadamente 12.000 habitantes, destaca la plaza nombrada como su fundador, Ángel Sandóval. Su belleza paisajística natural se fusiona a la perfección con el pintoresco quiosco de la retreta, utilizado las mañanas de los domingos para alegrar a los paseantes y a quienes salen de misa en la iglesia Cristo Rey, el santo patrono. Al frente está el Casino Militar, un edificio con aire colonial que alberga los festejos más importantes, además de servir como restaurante. Cuando se piensa en Roboré, se piensa en sus aguas cristalinas. Por la “perla” cruzan ríos y manantiales, y la laguna Sucuará sirve para la pesca y el avistamiento de aves y otros animales silvestres. Las cascadas El Chorro y San Luis, al igual que los balnearios Militar y San Manuel, concentran a la mayoría de los visitantes, sobre todo en la época vacacional (en junio y diciembre), Carnaval y Semana Santa. Pero si quieres un poco más de aventura y caminata, ve a Los Totaizales, un paraje ubicado a cinco kilómetros del centro urbano; se llega haciendo un recorrido en vehículo y luego caminando 1.200 metros por una pendiente de exuberante vegetación. La travesía bien vale la pena: te encontrarás con dos piscinas naturales de aguas deliciosas. Una de ellas está embellecida por una caída de agua de 18 metros. Lleva poco más de un año al mando de la alcaldía roborense y sabe que aún hay mucho por hacer en el sector turístico. El complejo turístico El Chorro del Pueblo será una de sus grandes obras y pretende entregarla en el aniversario de 2017; incluirá piscinas, canchas de voleibol de playa y plazuelas. Para Iván Quezada, la ecología es fundamental en cada uno de los proyectos del municipio, por lo que respetarla es una obligación. - Hay mucho que mostrarle al visitante en Roboré... - Esto es un paraíso. Todo lo que se diga de bueno de Roboré es poco. Hay lugares de belleza natural en la misma ciudad y en el resto del municipio (Santiago, Aguas Calientes y Chochís). Con ayuda de la tecnología, el Centro de Rescate Animal de Costa Rica colocó a la tucán una prótesis 3D con la que ahora puede alimentarse, tomar agua y asearse las plumas. A Grecia se la ve feliz; es un símbolo de trinfo ante la crueldad. Only a year and a half ago, “Grecia” had an uncertain future: do to abuse, the animal has lost 80% of her colored beak, which was causing stress and difficulty eating. With technological help of the Animal Rescue Center of Costa Rica the toucan was given a 3D prosthesis so that now she can eat, drink water and clean her feathers. Now Grecia seems happy; she is a symbol of triumph over animal cruelty.

Desde que Cam Tracey era pequeño amaba las alturas y saltar. Lo hacía desde los árboles y desde el tanque de agua del patio de su casa y para frenar la caída utilizaba sombrillas, cuando una no era suficiente lo hacia con dos o tres. A los 21 años empezó a lanzarse en paracaídas y luego parapente, pero lo que realmente le apasionaba es el salto base, una modalidad del paracaidismo que consiste en brincar desde un objeto fijo y no desde una aeronave en vuelo. De esta manera, este saltador empedernido, que pertenece al movimiento Base Jumpers Without Borders, ha viajado por 36 países tirándose desde montañas, edificios, antenas, estatuas... de todas las alturas que le pongan su adrenalina a mil. En Bolivia subió los 5.211 metros del cerro Sapajo y voló con su miniparapente sobre el Salar de Uyuni; además de aventurarse por las serranías de Toro Toro (ambos lugares en Potosí); saltó del Cristo de la Concordia (Cochabamba), el más alto del mundo y, hace un mes, de Torre La Riviera (Santa Cruz de la Sierra).

Cam Tracey doesn’t have vertigo. He has jumped off mountains in 36 countries, among them Bolivia; feeling the adrenaline in the Sapajo mountain, Toro Toro, the Cristo de la Concordia and from the La Riviera Building. Ever since Cam Tracey was little, he loved heights and jumping. He did it from trees and a water tank in his back yard. To slow his fall, he would use an umbrella, or even two or three. When he was 21, he started to jump with parachutes and then a paraglide, but what he was really passionate about was base jumping, which is a form of parachuting where you jump from a fixed object instead of from an airplane inflight. In this way, this hardened jumper, who belongs to the group Base Jumpers Without Borders, has traveled to 36 countries, throwing himself from mountains, buildings, antennas and statues…. from all heights that make his adrenaline rush. In Bolivia, he went up to the 5,211 meters of the cerro Sapajo and flew with his mini- paraglider over the Salar de Uyuni. He also took an adventure over the hills of Toro Toro (both places in Potosí). He jumped from the Cristo de la Concordia (Cochabamba), the highest in the world, and last month, from the La Riviera Building (in Santa Cruz).

CAJA DE PANDORA / Pandora’s box Para este australiano de 38 años, cada salto puede convertirse en el más peligroso; por ello, para evitar riesgos, cada uno es milimétricamente calculado: se toma en cuenta el clima, la altura del objeto, los metros sobre el nivel del mar, el equipo que se utiliza, la manera de plegar el paracaídas, el mejor ángulo del salto, la zona del aterrizaje, entre otros detalles. Para él, el más difícil hasta ahora ha sido el salto desde el Cristo de la Concordia, porque fue técnicamente difícil de organizar y llevar a cabo, pero lo logró con éxito en 2014. El salto base es un deporte extremo que no está prohibido en la mayoría de los países, razón por la que saltar desde cualquier objeto en el mundo es solo cuestión de coordinación con las autoridades o propietarios de los edificios. Cada saltador es responsable de sus acciones, nos dice. Para Tracey, saltar de un objeto es incluso un evento de promoción turística en un sitio y muchas veces su grupo se ha reunido para causas nobles: hace poco realizó un show de saltos en Sri Lanka para ayudar a un centro de rescate de elefantes.
For this 38-year old Aussie, each jump could become the most dangerous; thus, to avoid risks, he calculates each one meticulously; he considers the climate, the height of the object, the altitude over sea level, the equipment to be used, the way to open the parachute, the best angle for the jump, the place of landing, all among other details. Up until now, the most difficult jump was the jump from the Cristo de la Concordia, because it was difficult to organize and complete; but he did it successfully in 2014. Base jumping is an extreme sport that is not prohibited in most countries, and thus jumping from any object in the world is only a questions of coordinating with the local authorities and building owners. Each jumper is responsible for his own actions. For Tracey, jumping from an object can even be an event to promote tourism in many places and many times his group has come together for good causes. Recently they did a jumping show in Sri Lanka to help an elephant rescue center.

Willys was the first all-terrain vehicle in history. It was made to be used by the USA Army during World War II. When the war ended, it began to be commercialized in civilian forms, such as the Willys CJ. That vehicle continued to evolve ultimately becoming the Wrangler, which is still produced today. Inspired in the original model, immortalized in innumerable movies, the Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler 2016 combines all-terrain components with a classical style. The vehicle takes open-air driving further, with its available half doors. The interior features black cloth seating sports accents, off-road grab handles and leather-wrapped chrome shift knob and steering wheel, all giving it a touch of sophistication. It is worth mentioning that this design was made to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the mythical Willys, and thus is a limited edition. IT will be a treasure for collectors and lovers of car history.

EL HOTEL OLD CATARACT RESURGE JUNTO AL NILO
En este hotel, Agatha Christie se inspiró para escribir su famosa novela Muerte en el Nilo, publicada en 1937. Es el Old Cataract, en la ciudad egipcia de Asuán, donde un reguero de celebridades ha pasado: el zar Nicolás de Rusia, los actores Omar Sharif, Brad Pitt y Angelina Jolie, e incontables reyes y presidentes árabes. Tras caer en decadencia a finales del siglo pasado, el hotel emprendió una profunda restauración para convertirse en un punto de referencia y parece que lo está consiguiendo. Muchos de sus huéspedes llegan para disfrutar de sus encantos, entre los que se cuentan su piscina con vista al desierto de Nubia y a la isla Elefantina, navegaciones en el Nilo y comidas en su terraza, famosa por sus atardeceres.

¿Qué sabes del sushi? What do you know about sushi? El sushi es un uno de los platos más reconocidos de la gastronomía japonesa. Con el paso de los años este tradicional plato se ha ido extendiendo por todo el mundo, y surgiendo así variedades diferentes en cada región. ¿Qué tanto sabes de él? 1. Su nombre. Sushi es la unión de dos palabras: Su (vinagre) y Shi-Meshi (arroz), por lo que sushi se podría traducir como “arroz avinagrado”. 2. Comida rápida. En 1800, el sushi se convirtió en el fast food de la época. La idea surgió para que el pescado no se arruinara. 3. La cuestión es comerlo. Aunque no lo creas, el sushi debe comerse con las manos y de un solo bocado porque partir por la mitad la pieza está muy mal visto. Solo necesitarás los palillos para degustar el sashimi. 4. Todo en orden. No debes comer piezas de sushi a lo loco. Lo ideal es comenzar por el pez que tenga un sabor más ligero, y acabar con los sabores más potentes. Empieza a degustar primero los de color blanco, luego los rosados y termina por los rojos. 5. Con toque extranjero. Los estadounidenses crearon los rolls de aguacate (palta). Al igual que sucedió con las piezas que tienen el arroz en la parte externa y las algas nori dentro, por eso se llaman California Rolls.

Sushi is one of the most recognized culinary dishes from Japan. Over the years, this traditional dish has extended throughout the world and new, regional variations have emerged. How much do you know about sushi? 1. The name. Sushi is the union of two words: Su (vinegar) and Shi-Meshi (rice), and thus sushi could be translated as “rice with vinegar.” 2. Fast food. In 1800, sushi became the fast food of the time. The idea developed so the fish wouldn’t go bad. 3. The question is eating it. You might not believe it, but sushi should be eaten with the hands and in one bite because biting it in the middle is poor etiquette. You only need chopsticks to taste the sashimi. 4. All in order. You should not eat sushi in any order. The ideal is to begin with a fish that has a lighter flavor, and end with stronger flavored fish. Start by tasting those that are white in color, and then the

Los restaurantes Bolivian Llama Party están en mercados, ferias y paseos de Nueva York (hay uno en Manhattan, dos en Queens y uno en Brooklyn). Entre sus platos, la articulista Ligaya Mishan del diario New York Times destaca la salteña, ya sea de pollo, de res o de... ¡ostra ahumada con hongos, calabaza y quinua! “Son más regordetas que las empanadas”, describe. “La masa es dulce, con azúcar y ají amarillo, un chile andino que sabe a mango y pasas... Es crujiente por fuera y masticable al primer bocado; sabe a galleta”. ¿Apetecible, verdad? El exitoso negocio, donde también se sirve sándwich de chola y fricasé (otras exquisiteces bolivianas) surgió por casualidad, cuando a los hermanos Alex, Patrick y David Oropeza se les ocurrió elaborar salteñas en una feria para costearse una banda de rock. ¿Qué carne quieres? What meat do you like to eat? ¿Sabes en que varían los diferentes tipos de carne? Obviamente, aparte de la textura y el sabor, difieren en la calidad de la grasa que poseen, y cuanto mayor sea el contenido en grasas saturadas, menos saludables se consideran. ¿Y sabes cuáles son las carnes más habituales? Lo vemos a continuación… Las carnes de cordero y de cabra son las que más contenido en grasas saturadas contienen por lo que se recomienda su consumo de forma ocasional. La carne de vaca tiene un contenido en grasas saturadas intermedio pero destaca por aportarnos hierro y otros minerales fundamentales para el organismo. Su recomendación de consumo está entre 1 o 2 veces por semana. Respecto a la carne de ave (pollo y pavo en particular), podemos decir que su contenido en grasas es bajo y su recomendación de consumo está entre 3 o 4 veces a la semana. LA “HINCHADA ROJA” VIAJA EN AMASZONAS A APOYAR A CHILE ZOFRI-Chile y Amaszonas realizaron un chárter que partió desde Iquique hacia Asunción transportando a una gran cantidad de hinchas de “la roja”, la selección de Chile que enfrentó a la del Paraguay en el estadio Defensores del Chaco para las Clasificatorias al Mundial Rusia 2018.

ESTAMOS CON EL DESTINO SUCRE, MOSTRANDO CULTURA
En septiembre, Sucre concentró una serie de actividades que la convirtió en la “Capital Cultural de Bolivia”, entre ellos el Festival Internacional de la Cultura y la entrada folclórica de la Virgen de Guadalupe. LAFUENTE CELEBRÓ SUS 21 AÑOS El Grupo Empresarial Lafuente (GEL) celebró 21 años de éxito en el negocio inmobiliario regional, convirtiéndose en el holding de bienes raíces más importante de Bolivia. Julio Novillo Lafuente, su presidente ejecutivo, encabezó el festejo junto a su familia. GEL, a través de sus empresas El Pahuichi S.R.L., Techo S.A. y Parque Industrial Latinoamericano, logró consolidar 24 proyectos urbanísticos, dotando de servicios básicos más de 10.000 hectáreas y transfiriendo alrededor de 160 mil lotes de terreno. Actualmente se está ejecutando el megaproyecto Nueva Gran Ciudad del Urubó, que en su totalidad alcanzará las 12.000 hectáreas y contará con 250.000 terrenos, con precios al alcance de toda la población. La celebración, que contó con la presencia de autoridades, tuvo lugar en el salón Exhibición del hotel Los Tajibos; de la organización se encargó Lola Group.
IMCRUZ LANZÓ LA CAMIONETA RENAULT DUSTER OROCH Con un cóctel en CrossFit Bless, Imcruz lanzó al mercado boliviano la pickup Renault Duster Oroch. Tres días previos a la Maratón Adidas se realizó la ExpoMaratón en el área verde del Ventura Mall. Un total de 26 empresas exhibieron productos deportivos y saludables.
Cuídate, la línea saludable de la compañía de alimentos cárnicos Sofía, se encargó de presentar la polera oficial de la Maratón Adidas. En la oportunidad también se mostraron a las embajadoras del evento deportivo y el kit que recibió cada corredor.
LOLA GROUP PRODUJO LA EXITOSA Misión cumplida. De eso están seguros y orgullosos los ejecutivos y funcionarios de Lola Group, la empresa que produjo la segunda Maratón Adidas Santa Cruz de la Sierra, organizada por el Grupo Fair Play. VIVA SE DESTACA EN EXPOCRUZ Una vez más, la telefónica Viva marcó presencia en Expocruz, de Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Este año lo hizo con un estand dinámico, tecnológico y con buena música, y ofreciendo una sala de prensa con todo lo necesario para el trabajo de los periodistas que cubrieron la feria multisectorial más grande de Bolivia. Durante los 10 días que duró la muestra, en el estand hubo premios para los visitantes que participaron en diversos juegos.
