Este es otro mes cargado de noticias positivas para el fortalecimiento y crecimiento de nuestras aerolíneas cuyo fin es ofrecerle buenas y adecuadas conexiones aéreas. Hace poco y a través de nuestra aerolínea Amaszonas Paraguay hemos aterrizado en Buenos Aires, ciudad a la que llegamos con dos rutas, de Montevideo a Buenos Aires con Amaszonas Uruguay y ahora incorporamos Asunción - Buenos Aires con dos vuelos diarios. Para nuestra aerolínea paraguaya significa el inicio de una etapa de expansión que este año nos llevará por nuevos destinos en Argentina y Brasil y ratifica la proyección de ir construyendo “hubs” regionales en varios países donde operamos. Once again, this month is full of positive news about the strengthening and growth of our airlines whose purpose is to offer you good and suitable flight connections. Recently, through our airline Amaszonas Paraguay, we landed in Buenos Aires, a city that we reach from two routes: Montevideo to Buenos Aires with Amaszonas Uruguay and now we’ve added Asunción - Buenos Aires with two daily flights. For our Paraguayan airline, this signified the beginning of an expansion stage that this year will take us to new destinations in Argentina and Brazil and it ratifies our goal to build regional hubs in several countries where we operate. Not only does this route signify our return to Salta, which was greatly wanted by authorities and friends of this city, but it also reinstitutes a connection that was lost. I especially want to emphasize the route Salta - Iquique because that route signifies the integration of northern Argentina with northern Chile, two areas that share a vision of growth and that up until now would require many flight layovers when travelling from one to the other. Iquique is another destination where we are building a new “hub.” The airport of this city will offer greater international connections for all of northern Chile. From Iquique, Amaszonas has flights to Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay, as well as domestic flights that connect the throughout the north. Thus Amaszonas will continue providing flight integration. Punta Ballena es uno de los lugares más particulares y hermosos de la costa uruguaya. La incomparable vista de la bahía de Maldonado y de Portezuelo que se puede apreciar desde la Ruta Panorámica encima de la sierra, hacen que éste sea uno de los selectos lugares en el mundo donde disfrutar un atardecer sea tan placentero. Aquí se encuentra Casa Pueblo, un ícono uruguayo, construido por el artista Carlos Paez Vilaró.

Punta Ballena is one of the most unique and beautiful places on the Uruguayan coast. Este mes otoñal es de las madres en muchos países de Hispanoamérica y casualmente en la mayoría de los destinos de Amaszonas. El primer domingo se celebra en Perú, el segundo en Uruguay y Chile; el 15 en Paraguay y el 27 en Bolivia. El único destino que conmemora el tercer domingo de octubre es Argentina. Esta fecha es quizás una de las festividades más esperadas para agasajar y honrar al ser que nos trajo al mundo. En esta ocasión hemos querido conocer cómo celebran las mamás que han dejado sus países y se han venido a vivir a Bolivia.Todas coinciden en que la fiesta es doble porque su corazón está ligado a sus tradiciones y costumbres, pero que también se han integrado a la celebración del país que las acoge. May is the month of mothers in many countries of Latin America and also in most of the destinations of Amaszonas. The first Sunday of the month is celebrated in Peru, the second in Uruguay and Chile; the 15th in Paraguay and the 27th in Bolivia. The only destination that commemorates Mother’s day on the third Sunday of October is Argentina. Mother’s Day is perhaps one of the most awaited festivities on which to celebrate and honor the being that brought each of us into the world. For this occasion, we wanted to know how the mothers who have left their homelands and have come to live in Bolivia celebrate the fact that the celebration is twofold: in part part because their hearts are linked to their customs from their homelands, but also because of how they have integrated into the customs of the country where they live today.

ALEXIA VIRUEZ Bolivia

Representó a Bolivia en el Miss Universo el 2013, es presentadora del programa En Hora Buena de la red PAT, top Magnífica de la agencia de Pablo Manzoni y mamá hace un año de Alessandra, una niña preciosa. Este 27 de mayo celebrará su segundo día de la madre, porque su bebé nació en marzo del año pasado. “A pesar de mis múltiples actividades estoy disfrutando la maternidad, la clave es organizarse bien, es un trabajo aparte, cuesta mucho, pero es parte de la vida y se puede”. Para esta mamá de 22 años, es clave rodearse de personas que te puedan dar una mano.

She represented Bolivia in the Miss Universe Pageant in 2013, and now is a presenter of the program En Hora Buena on the PAT television network. She is also a top model of the Pablo Manzoni agency and a year ago she became the mother of Alessandra, a beautiful girl. This May 27th she will celebrate her second Mother’s Day, because her baby was born in March of last year. “Despite my many activities, I am enjoying motherhood. The key is to organize things well, it is a separate job, it is hard work but it is part of life and it can be done.” For this young 22-year-old mom, the key is to surround yourself with people who can give you a hand.

Esta mamá uruguaya que vive en Santa Cruz (Bolivia) hace 12 años, nos cuenta que en su país se celebra el Día de la Madre el segundo domingo de mayo, pero como su hija Isabella (8) nació acá celebra principalmente el 27 de mayo. “Es un día especial porque mi hija me canta, se disfraza en el colegio y nos vamos a cenar juntas para festejar. Sin embargo, el día de la celebración en mi país llamo a mi mamá, nos felicitamos con los parientes, también lo festejo”. Carolina es empresaria independiente y complementa muy bien sus actividades con la crianza de su niña “Por algo somos mamás”, añade. Es fotógrafa y empresaria independiente. Dejó su amada Lima hace 5 años por el trabajo de su esposo. Tienen 3 hijos: Joaquín, Sebastián y Emiliana, todos peruanos. Ella celebra el Día de la Madre dos veces, el primer domingo de mayo al estilo peruano y el 27 de mayo en Bolivia, donde se suma a las actividades del colegio. “Estos años en Santa Cruz pasaron volando, amo Bolivia porque soy muy feliz acá”, comenta esta mamá que trabaja toda la mañana para dedicar la tarde a sus pequeños. She is a photographer and independent businesswoman. Due to her husband’s job, she left her beloved Lima five years ago and they have three children: Joaquín, Sebastián and Emiliana all Peruvians. She celebrates Mother’s Day twice, the first Sunday in May in the Peruvian style and on May 27 in Bolivia, where she joins in with school activities. “These years that I have lived in Santa Cruz have flown by, I love Bolivia because I’m very happy here,” says this mom who works all morning to dedicate her afternoons to her children.

LOLA ALBA Chile

Llegó de Santiago a Bolivia hace 7 años por el trabajo de su esposo, esta mamá de 5 hijos (el mayor de 33 años y la menor de 15), vive solo con los dos menores ya que los grandes vuelan con alas propias. Nos cuenta que en Chile se celebra el Día de la Madre el segundo domingo de mayo. “Esta fecha antes era más significativa y hacíamos la hora del té en la casa de abuela. Al cambiarme de país lo celebro por las redes, me conecto al Skype, me mandan fotos. Acá celebramos el 27 de mayo por el tema escolar. Es curioso, las celebraciones fuera de tu país cambian totalmente, pasan los años y se van apagando un poco”, nos comentó. It’s funny but over time, the celebrations you have outside of your country change completely and fade bit,” she commented.

MIRY ABOU SALEH POPOW Paraguay

Se vino a vivir a Bolivia hace 26 años, cuando apenas tenía 16, por eso ha perdido el acento, pero no las costumbres de su país, porque a pesar de haberse casado con un cruceño (gentilicio de los nacidos en Santa Cruz) y tener hijos bolivianos, ella celebra el 15 de mayo Día de la Madre y a la vez el Día de la Independencia en Paraguay. “Celebramos ese día por mi mamá que es paraguaya, pero se convierte en un día de agasajo y felicitación de mis parientes. También celebro el 27 de mayo porque soy mama boliviana de dos niños de 14 y 7 años”. Ella es gerente general de BPO una empresa de RRHH y trata de que las horas que pasa con sus hijos sean de calidad más que cantidad. She came to Bolivia 26 years ago, when she was only 16. Dejó Buenos Aires hace 24 años. Vivió un año en La Paz, cuatro en Tarija y diecinueve en Santa Cruz, razón más que suficiente para sentirse una mamá boliviana. Claudia por sus tres hijos siempre ha festejado el 27 de mayo, pero jamás se olvida de las fechas especiales que se conmemoran en Argentina, las recuerda todas y las celebra, aunque sus hijos ya están grandes. “Antes viajaba para visitar a mi mamá, ahora que ya no está, nos felicitamos con mis familiares por las redes en ambas fechas”, expresó. La comunicadora, especializada en medios impresos nos comentó que, en su país se conmemora el Día de la Madre el tercer domingo de octubre. She left Buenos Aires 24 years ago. She lived one year in La Paz, four in Tarija, and nineteen in Santa Cruz, all of which is reason enough to feel like a Bolivian mom. For her three children, Claudia has always celebrated on May 27, but she never forgets the special dates that are celebrated in Argentina. Salar de Uyuni, la locación de moda Fashionable filming location

Desde Hollywood hasta Bollywood, el mar de sal atrae como escenario y le da frescura al cine. La última película filmada allí es Sal y Fuego, de Werner Herzog.

From Hollywood to Bollywood, the sea of salt is a desirable film location and gives freshness to the cinema. The most recent movie filmed there was “Sal and Fuego” by Werner Herzog.

El Salar de Uyuni fascina a cualquier visitante. Al parecer, también a los cineastas. En los últimos cinco años, al menos ocho producciones audiovisuales internacionales han utilizado como locación el majestuoso mar de sal. Incluso, circula una fotografía de la última saga de La Guerra de las Galaxias, supuestamente filmada en la salina uyunense, aunque la producción de la misma no ha confirmado este dato. Podríamos decir que la pionera es Blackthorn, una coproducción hispano-boliviana, dirigida por Mateo Gil y con la actuación del consagrado Sam Sheperd y el galán español, Eduardo Noriega, además del reconocido actor británico, Stephen Rea. El filme recrea la época de los legendarios bandidos Sundance Kid y Butch Cassidy, quienes en la vida real transitaron esos territorios y seguramente también se maravillaron con el Salar. La última gran producción viene de la mano del célebre director alemán Werner Herzog. ‘Sal y Fuego’ utilizó el Salar en gran parte de sus locaciones. El trío de protagonistas está conformado por la alemana Verónica Ferres, el estadounidense Michael Shannon y el mexicano Gael García Bernal, quien ya antes filmó en Bolivia “Y también la lluvia”.

The Salar de Uyuni is fascinating to any visitor including filmmakers. In the last five years, at least eight international audiovisual productions have used this majestic sea of salt as a filming location. There is even a photograph of the last saga of Star Wars circulating that supposedly was filmed in the Salar de Uyuni, although the production has not confirmed this data. We could say that the pioneer for filming in the Salar was “Blackthorn,” a Spanish-Bolivian coproduction, directed by Mateo Gil and featuring veteran Sam Shepard and Spaniard Eduardo Noriega, as well as the renowned British actor Stephen Rea. The film recreates the time of the legendary bandits, Sundance Kid and Butch Cassidy, who in real life transited these territories and surely also marveled at the Salar. The most recent large-scale production came from the hand of the famous German director Werner Herzog. ‘Sal y Fuego’ used the Salar in most of its locations. El primero es director de ´El Alba, les ombres errantes’ y el segundo, de ‘La Tentación de Potosí’. La fama del Salar ha llegado incluso hasta Bollywood. Un numeroso equipo de producción vino para grabar escenas de la película india Sarrainodu, del director Boyapati Srinu. En el género de documental también ha sido escenario de ‘Salero’, del estadounidense Mike Plunkett, y, ‘Antes que se tire la sal’, de la mexicana Natalia Armienta. E incluimos en esta lista el video de Naughty Boy, La la la, del director irlandés Ian Jewel Pons. and Philippe Crnogorac. Las opciones para el visitante en Buenos Aires son abundantes, ya sea para los interesados en diversión, deportes, moda, gastronomía o cultura. Una nueva veta que se está impulsando es la histórica. Operadores de turismo y el propio gobierno autónomo de la ciudad impulsa paseos por la historia de la capital argentina. Por ejemplo, existe el ciclo de visitas guiadas “Los barrios porteños abren sus puertas”, una propuesta que combina turismo y difusión del patrimonio histórico. El ciclo es gratuito, pero con cupos limitados, y visita zonas cargadas de historia y anécdotas. Los paseos cuentan con visitas a edificios históricos de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, como los teatros Colón y Cervantes, Tribunales, el Congreso Nacional, la Casa Rosada, el Cabildo y la Catedral, entre otros. Todos ellos forman parte del patrimonio de una ciudad que fue considerada la “París de Sudamérica”. Otra vertiente es la arqueológica. Este jovencito boliviano tiene además un gran corazón y comparte su ciencia. “Quiero hacer prótesis para todos los chicos que la necesiten”, asegura. Ya fabricó dos para una niña y un niño. Te pasamos algunos trucos que pueden mejorar tus fotos tomadas con el teléfono. 1. Modo HDR. El High Dynamic Range que está en la pantalla de tu smartphone, no es más que la proporción de luz vs. zonas oscuras en una imagen. Sirve para añadir más amplitud de tonos. 2. Mantenerse inmóvil. Puede parecer una obviedad, pero es la causa de esa situación tan habitual y frustrante en la que la foto parece buena pero, cuando hacemos zoom o la vemos luego, está ligeramente borrosa. 3. Pon tus sujetos de cara al sol. Nunca pierdas de vista desde dónde viene la luz. Si sacas la foto en interiores, posiciónate cerca de una ventana o de una fuente de luz. 4. Controla la exposición. Nada es peor que una foto con demasiadas zonas oscuras, o quemadas por la luz. A veces no hay nada que hacer, pero otras un ligero cambio de encuadre mejora la foto sustancialmente. 5. El post-procesado es tu amigo. Si no quieres hacer tantos ajustes, hay un montón de aplicaciones para editar tus fotos.

Two French university students have a possible solution to this problem with their creation, Ooho, a biodegradable and edible container that can be created at home. Si ‘Luismi’ no paga, la justicia determinó el embargo de su Rolls Royce, modelo 2013 y valorado en $us 300.000. En tanto, Alejandro Fernández lo demanda por daños y perjuicios tras dejarlo plantado para realizar una gira. Esta vez, el monto que tendría que pagar Luis Miguel es de $us 7 millones. EL BUEN ANUNCIANTE SABE LO QUE NECESITA A good advertiser knows what he needs Durante casi 30 años como publicista me he topado con anunciantes de todo tipo: grandes y pequeños, multinacionales y familiares, ricos y pobres, antiguos y nuevos, fieles e infieles, internacionales y locales, creyentes e incrédulos, decididos y timoratos, confiados y desconfiados, respetuosos e irrespetuosos, excelentes y mediocres, motivadores y destructores, inteligentes y brutos…creo que he visto de todo. Muy al margen de las características anteriores, lo que en todo este tiempo he podido constatar es que hay de los que saben lo que necesitan; y hay de los que no tienen idea de qué es “lo que necesitan” y -muchas veces- ni siquiera de “lo que quieren”. Estos últimos son los típicos clientes que suelen “evaluar” el trabajo de su agencia en función de si lo que esta le presenta le gusta o no; y lo que es peor, a menudo sin analizar siquiera si cumple con lo que su producto/marca necesita. Quien deja el tema “libre” a su agencia para que le recomiende lo que “creativamente” se le ocurra, no es un buen anunciante. El buen anunciante valora su marca, busca cómo hacer crecer ese valor, sigue una estrategia, toma riesgos, asume la responsabilidad, corrige si se equivoca, respeta a sus colaboradores (internos y externos) y confía en ellos; y puede hacer todo esto cuando tiene conciencia de que lo que hace no es lo que le gusta, sino lo que necesita. El buen anunciante sabe que antes de definir el “cómo”, se debe definir el “qué”. 74

El caimán yacaré o lagarto El caimán yacaré (Crocodilia Alligatoridae), comúnmente conocido en Bolivia como lagarto, es una especie endémica de las regiones subtropicales de Sudamérica. Su cuero es muy apreciado y su carne es rica en proteínas y ácidos grasos, con bajos niveles de calorías, colesterol y grasas saturadas. Su comercialización legal en Bolivia está regulada por el Programa de Conservación y Uso Sostenible del Lagarto, que autoriza un cupo anual de cosecha de 50.000 ejemplares, a nivel nacional, y una temporada de caza y comercialización que va de julio a noviembre. Desde que el director de cine lo probó en 2007, después del rodaje de la película “Che”, quedó encantado y personalmente se encargó de difundir el sabor de esta bebida entre sus amistades en Hollywood, es más, decidió exportarla a Estados Unidos y comercializarla con el nombre de Singani 63. La novedad es que la marca la tendremos en Bolivia a partir del segundo semestre de este año. La fama que este licor nacional alcanzó en el país del norte atravesó las fronteras y ubicó a Bolivia en los lugares más prestigiosos de la gastronomía a nivel mundial, motivando a que restaurantes y bares bolivianos pregunten acerca de la disponibilidad de la marca Singani 63. Sin embargo, fue recién en los años 50 que el restaurante Mario Alberto revivió el mito y creó los capelletis con Salsa Caruso, asegurando que era la receta que había probado casi 40 años antes el gran tenor italiano. Con una base de champiñones, tocino y crema de leche, ahora se utiliza para acompañar varias pastas. Aquí te mostramos una receta tradicional para acompañar unos exquisitos ravioles.

Receta

Preparación

Salsa Crema de leche, 250 cc. Leche, ¼ l. Extracto de carne, 1 cda (o 1 cubito de caldo de carne) Almidón de maíz, 3 cdas. Jamón cocido, 200 g. Champiñones, 250 g. Queso rallado, ½ taza.

Llevar a hervir la crema y la leche (se puede utilizar solamente crema, si desea que la salsa tenga más consistencia). Cuando levante el hervor, incorporar el almidón de maíz, previamente disuelto en un poco de agua. Agregar además el extracto de carne o el cubo de caldo. En adelante, revolver constantemente con cuchara de madera (serán unos pocos minutos, hasta que la salsa tome consistencia y para evitar que forme grumos).

Caruso Sauce has all the characteristics of an Italian sauce, but in fact, its origin is Uruguayan. This sauce does have to do with the legendary Italian tenor, Enrico Caruso, who visited Montevideo in 1915, and was a big star during that time. The myth says that he tasted several dishes, among them a pasta with this sauce that today bears his name. However, it was only in the 1950’s that the restaurant, Mario Alberto, revived the myth and created the capelletis (pasta) with Salsa Caruso, promising that it was the same recipe that had been used almost 40 years before in a meal tasted by the great Italian tenor. Made with a base of mushrooms, bacon and cream, it is now used to accompany several pastas. Here is the traditional recipe that can accompany ravioli.

Cuando tome consistencia cremosa, agregar el jamón picado o en cubitos, y los hongos fileteados. Incorporar luego el queso rallado. Mantener unos momentos más en el fuego, para que el queso funda. Condimentar a gusto con sal, pimienta y nuez moscada. Esta salsa, aunque es muy rápida de hacer, se puede preparar con anticipación y calentar en el momento de servir.

Para elegir color y sabor Choose the color and flavor Pimiento, ají morrón, chile morrón, locote, pimiento morrón o pimentón, sus nominaciones varían de acuerdo al país. Como sea, junto a la cebolla y el tomate forman la “Santísima Trinidad” de las comidas latinoamericanas. El morrón rojo es la base de la paprika o pimentón dulce, que es el polvo resultado del fruto seco y molido. La gastronomía mediterránea y balcánica está basada en este ingrediente. Asimismo, la comida china utiliza bastante este fruto, especialmente el verde. De hecho, China es el principal productor a nivel mundial. Vitaminas, minerales, ácido fólico y propiedades antioxidantes son algunas de las bondades de los pimentones, pero, sin duda, el sabor aportado a las comidas son el principal argumento para que nunca falten en la alacena de la casa.

RECUERDOS DE UNA VIDA PLENA En un exclusivo cóctel brindado en el flamante edificio de la empresa de alimentos cárnicos Sofía, su presidente ejecutivo, Mario Anglarill Salvatierra, realizó la presentación de su autobiografía “Recuerdos de una vida plena”. Según Manfredo Kempff, el escritor que comenta esta obra, “el libro cuenta sobre la Santa Cruz de antaño y es bueno que los jóvenes le echen una mirada. La Santa Cruz de hoy tiene muy poco que ver con la de ayer. Ha progresado, se vive mucho mejor, pero ha perdido gran parte de su ser, de su vida, de sus tradiciones”. Kempff señala en su publicación en El Deber que sabía de la gran industria que es Sofía, pero no sabía la dimensión que tiene esa empresa... sobrepasa todo lo imaginable”. El evento de presentación de esta obra que guarda los recuerdos de este exitoso empresario boliviano, fue organizado por Lola Group.

TRIATLÓN EN EL LAGO TITICACA

Copacabana fue testigo del Titicaca Triatlón Olímpico en su primera versión. El evento se dividió en dos partes: las categorías Élite y Equipos que arrancaron con los 1.500 mts. de natación en aguas abiertas en el Lago. La competencia de ciclismo, llevó a los triatletas hasta Kasani, zona fronteriza con Perú, esta parte constaba de tres vueltas para concluir con la carrera 10K, donde tenían que dar dos vueltas a las orillas del Titicaca. El ganador en la categoría Élite fue el Finlandés Timo Gronlund con un tiempo de 2 horas, 21 minutos y 38 segundos, siete minutos más tarde llegó el nacional Salvador Bustillos, mientras que en la rama femenina el tiempo de la ganadora Carla Rosales fue de 2 horas, 42 minutos y 53 segundos, y en segundo lugar llegó Susy Huarachi con un tiempo de 3 horas, 2 minutos y 18 segundos. Este evento estuvo auspiciado por Cuídate, la línea light de Sofía. PARTIDOS DE LA COPA DAVIS EN EL CLUB DE TENIS SANTA CRUZ En instalaciones del Club de Tenis Santa Cruz, institución que celebró 70 años de creación, el plantel boliviano de Copa Davis disputó ante Bahamas la permanencia en el Grupo II de Copa Davis. Capitaneado por Mauricio Solís, Bolivia afrontó este Play-Off con los tenistas: Hugo Dellien, Federico Zeballos, Juan Carlos Aguilar y Boris Arias, quienes enfrentaron en partidos dobles y singles para sellar el 4 – 1 favorable en favor de los locales.

SE RATIFICA CERTIFICACIÓN DE OPERACIÓN EN CHILE Con la entrega del Certificado de Operador de Servicios Aéreos por parte de la Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil de Chile se ratificó la validación de la nueva conexión que hace Amaszonas en el norte de Chile. El Vicepresidente Legal de Amaszonas, Sergio León recibió el certificado que autoriza a realizar operaciones aéreas en vuelos nacionales e internacionales. EXITOSA CONEXIÓN DEL NORTE DE CHILE Con una celebración fue recibida la nueva conexión aérea que Amaszonas efectúa en el norte de Chile. El acto especial se desarrolló en el Aeropuerto de Antofagasta y acudieron la Ministra de Transportes de Chile, Paola Tapia, el Secretario General de la Junta de Aeronáutica Civil, Jaime Binder, el Director de Aeropuertos, Boris Olguín y autoridades regionales. Esta conexión fue inaugurada por el Vicepresidente Ejecutivo de Amaszonas, Luis Vera y comprende a las ciudades de Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, Copiapó y La Serena. TOUR DE PERIODISTAS URUGUAYOS A BUENOS AIRES Mediante una importante alianza con el Instituto Nacional de Promoción Turística (INPROTUR) Argentina, se desarrolló un viaje de prensa en el que participaron varios periodistas de medios uruguayos, para ratificar la importancia de la conexión Montevideo - Buenos Aires. El grupo de periodistas realizó actividades en el Hotel del Club Boca Juniors, el Club Argentina Polo Day y varios restaurantes de la capital federal. Una gran experiencia que tendrá importantes repercisiones mediáticas en el país charrua.

AMASZONAS URUGUAY ESTRENA AERONAVE Iniciando una nueva etapa de crecimiento, recientemente se incorporó una nueva aeronave a la flota de Amaszonas Uruguay. La aeronave fue recibida en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Carrasco con arco de agua de bautizo, evento que fue presenciado por varios medios de comunicación y con la destacada presencia del Ministro de Transportes y Obras Publicas, Victor Rossi y el subsecretario de Turismo, Benjamin Liberoff. Esta aeronave permitirá el establecimiento de nuevas rutas entre Uruguay y Argentina.
