David Essex stars in
GREAT FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY
‘Roll on up, see the main attraction, get your money ready, let’s take a ride...’
The Tiger Who Came To Tea
Based on the picture book written and illustrated by Judith Kerr Adapted for the stage with songs and lyrics by David Wood Exciting and charming, The Tiger Who Came to Tea has been enjoyed by millions of children since it was first published over 30 years ago. Now for the first time ever, the much-loved tale of a tiger creating tea time mayhem is brought vividly to life on stage in a show packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos.
Set against the backdrop of a travelling funfair and packed with hilarious crafty cons and plenty of rock ‘n’ roll, All the Fun of the Fair is a brand new action-packed musical from legendary singer and songwriter David Essex and the creator of Boogie Nights, Jon Conway. Widower and funfair owner Levi Lee (David Essex) is struggling to fend off the unwelcome attentions of an alluring and attractive divorcee whilst trying to keep up with the ins and outs of his son’s tangled love life and lofty ambitions. And what is he to make of the dangerous predictions of the fair’s mysterious gypsy fortune teller, warning him about what the future has in store? Inspired by David’s debut album, this roller-coaster ride is underscored by a helter-skelter of hits such as A Winter’s Tale, Hold Me Close, Gonna Make You A Star, Me and My Girl Nightclubbing, Silver Dream Machine and Rock On. So roll on up and get your tickets now for this beautiful, modern musical love story with a heartbreaking twist.

Over three million people have lived to tell the tale of The Woman in Black, one of the most exciting, gripping and successful theatre events ever staged. A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a ‘Woman in Black’, engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but then, as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eerie marshes and moaning winds. The borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep. Unanimously acclaimed by the critics, Stephen Mallatratt’s adaptation of Susan Hill’s best selling novel, combines the power and intensity of live theatre with a cinematic quality inspired by the world of film noir. It is a formula that provides audiences with an evening of unremitting drama as they are transported into a terrifying and ghostly world. 13

Stomp, the British theatrical sensation that has become a truly global phenomenon, returns to Stoke-on-Trent this winter. If you have never experienced Stomp then this is your chance to see why this breathtaking, multi award-winning show continues to thrill audiences around the world. With its unique combination of theatre, dance, comedy and percussion, Stomp finds beauty and music in the mundane. The eight performers use boots, bins, brooms and everything including the kitchen sink to hammer out an explosively feel-good rhythm. The junk and clutter of life becomes the source of infectious rhythm and wonder. Not to be missed!
The Cultural Quarter Initiative is funded by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of England, the European Community through the European Regional Development Fund and the City of Stoke-on-Trent.

MAJOR INTERNATIONAL HIT MUSICAL DIRECT FROM SELL- OUT SUCCESS IN PARIS, BEIJING & SADLER’S WELLS ‘A musical landmark’ The Guardian
‘This imperishable masterpiece of musical theatre is as powerful, pertinent and poignant as ever’ Daily Mail
‘This still remarkable musical achieves a truly tragic grandeur’ Daily Telegraph
Based on a conception by Jerome Robbins Book by Arthur Laurents Music by Leonard Bernstein Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim Entire original production directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins
‘Something is coming. Something good. And it’s going to be great.’ The moment the curtain rose on Broadway in the 50s, musical theatre was at once changed forever. Packed with unforgettable songs including Maria, Tonight, Somewhere, America, One Hand One Heart and I Feel Pretty, West Side Story remains even today, 50 years on, a theatrical landmark. Groundbreaking choreography by the legendary Jerome Robbins and a subsequent movie version that went on to win an incredible 10 Academy Awards (including Best Picture) further cemented the reputation of this undoubted masterpiece. Now this brand new vibrant stage production, made to commemorate the show’s 50th anniversary and performed by a knock-out ensemble cast, is thrilling audiences across the world all over again.
