His designs on her are disrupted by the seductive songstress Tallulah who wants Bugsy for herself. This fast-moving and undeniably funny show has been specially adapted from Alan Parker’s hugely popular 1976 film and contains fantastic song and dance routines, including the classics So You Wanna Be A Boxer?, My Name Is Tallulah, Fat Sam’s Grand Slam and many more. Sunderland Empire is delighted to be staging the classic gangster musical, Bugsy Malone as our Stage Experience production for 2011! Stage Experience is an intensive two week theatre summer school giving young people from across the region the opportunity to train and perform on the North East’s biggest stage. Under the guidance of a professional Director, Musical Director, Choreographer and Technical Team, 2 weeks of training and rehearsals, beginning on Mon 25th July, culminate in 4 performances on the Sunderland Empire stage (4th – 6th Aug). Bugsy Malone is a high impact, action packed musical, which offers a wide variety of roles. Set in New York, 1929 – a war rages between two rival gangsters, Fat Sam and Dandy Dan.
