Based on the first book of Flora Thompson’s trilogy of semi-autobiographical novels, this heartwarming play was first performed at London’s National Theatre in 1978 and was nominated for two Olivier awards. Seen through the eyes of young Laura Timms, the play follows a day in the life and relationships of the farm workers, craftsmen and gentry of the fictional hamlet of Lark Rise at the end of the nineteenth century. Pleasant Parking The closest car park is the NCP Theatre Car Park in Church Street where evening visitors to the Theatre can enjoy a flat rate of £7 (after 6pm and mid week matinees). When you enter the car park, take a ticket from the entrance barrier and bring this ticket to the Theatre. Simply insert your parking ticket into the special validation machine and it will recode the discount for you. Any price increases on parking fees are solely at the discretion of NCP.
