AmCham Abu Dhabi Hosts Traditional ADIPEC Kick-off Breakfast featuring the President and CEO of GE Oil & Gas For Immediate Release November 10, 2013: Today AmCham Abu Dhabi kicked off the 2013 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) with a breakfast event at the Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri. Over 100 top business executives, distinguished Emirati guests, and U.S. Embassy officials attended the event, including Michael Corbin, U.S. Ambassador to the U.A.E., and keynote speaker, Lorenzo Simonelli, President and CEO of GE Oil & Gas. AmCham Abu Dhabi Platinum Members, GE and Sayah Engineering MENA, generously sponsored the high level event. After an introduction from Gregory J. Golden, Chairman Emeritus, AmCham Abu Dhabi, Ambassador Corbin welcomed Simonelli and the GE delegation. He also thanked AmCham Abu Dhabi for hosting another great event noting how important ADIPEC is to the oil and gas industry. Featured keynote speaker, Lorenzo Simonelli, discussed GE’s history in the region and outlined key themes that have enabled GE Oil & Gas to succeed. Simonelli stated the importance of technology investment, partnering through localization and training, and innovation using a new spirit of enterprise. Simonelli also highlighted important trends in the oil and gas industry, which include increasing recovery rates using new technology and development of unconventional gas.
