Message from the U.S. Ambassador to Denmark On behalf of the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen, I would like to congratulate the American Chamber on another incredible year. AmCham is one of the Embassy’s closest partners as we work to increase trade and investment and to further deepen the great partnership between Denmark and the United States. That partnership is stronger than ever, as is our collaboration with the Chamber – soon to enter its third decade – and my team and I are working daily to ensure that both continue to grow. It has also been an incredible year for America. The economy is growing and wages are rising. Unemployment is at a 17-year low, and the stock market has hit record high after record high, helping more Americans build wealth and secure their futures. We are optimistic about continued successes going forward. AmCham plays a key role in helping American companies export to Denmark and do business here. Whether it is facilitating access to key decision-makers, or advocating for a competitive business climate,

6 Yearbook 2018

AmCham consistently adds value for its members and society. AmCham’s new “AccessUSA” committee, which cooperates closely with SelectUSA, will facilitate even more Danish companies investing in the United States. In my short time in Denmark, I have learned much about the quality and accomplishments of AmCham and its members. I look forward to continuing this close and productive partnership to promote U.S. innovation and create jobs, growth, and prosperity in our two countries. Carla Sands U.S. Ambassador to Denmark

”AmCham is one of the Embassy’s closest partners as we work to increase trade and investment and further deepen the great partnership between Denmark and the United States.”

Message from the Danish Ambassador to the U.S.A. As Denmark’s Ambassador to the United States, I am extremely proud to join the American Chamber of Commerce as Honorary President. Over time, we have had an excellent cooperation between the American Chamber of Commerce and the American Danish Business Council and I am looking forward to further developing this relationship. Economic diplomacy is part of the core business at the Danish Embassy in Washington, DC. Whatever we do, we try to use our insights about and access to the political system in the United States to advance the commercial ties between Denmark and the United States. The AmericanDanish Business Council is an important part of that and I believe that our cooperation with AmCham can strengthen our economic diplomacy efforts even more. I share AmCham’s mission to advocate for competitive business, facilitate knowledge exchange and to provide

a forum where international business and political leaders can engage with each other. I believe that trade serves as a vein that nourishes the transatlantic relationship. The competition, exchange of knowledge and cultural interchange that follows, foster innovation and strengthen our economies even more. The United States is Denmark’s largest trade partner outside the European Union, and our countries can only benefit from increasing trade and investments between each other.

“We have had an excellent cooperation between AmCham and the American Danish Business Council, and I am looking forward to further developing this relationship.”

Message from the CHAIRMAN 2017 marked another banner year for AmCham and its success as Denmark’s unique voice for international business. AmCham has a strong history of creating opportunities for dialogue between international companies and Danish decision-makers, where we continue to set focus on the importance of multinational enterprises and “what brings investments to Denmark”. Throughout the year, the AmCham team also delivered a comprehensive program of value-added events, providing members with opportunities for high-level networking and knowledge exchange. Looking forward, I’m excited by the successful merger with our sister organization, the Danish American Business Forum (DABF). Together we have created a truly bilateral organization for U.S., Danish and International companies, with an

unrivalled platform for our members’ success in Denmark and the U.S. I’m also delighted to welcome AmCham’s Honorary Presidents, U.S. Ambassador Carla Sands and Danish Ambassador Lars Lose, whose recent appointments further reinforce the bilateral nature of the merged organization. In closing, I would like to acknowledge the valuable relationships we share with our many partners and extend a special thanks to the U.S. Embassy for their invaluable contributions. Also, thanks to my fellow board members, whose commitment, leadership and engagement is a key factor in AmCham’s ongoing success. And, above all, I would like to thank you, our members, for your continued support. It is vital to have a strong collective voice for international business, and with your continued participation, AmCham is poised for an extremely bright future. Angela Naef Chair

Message from the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Welcome to AmCham’s 2018 Yearbook and Membership Directory. This publication is rich with examples of the access and accomplishments that took place during this past year. Our efforts took many forms, including policy-driven meetings with key ministers and political stakeholders; stimulating, high-level networking events; and top notch promotion and profiling opportunities for our members. In the Fall, the AmCham office was relocated to Dag Hammarskjölds Allé, directly across from the U.S. Embassy. The new office features a separate multi-purpose meeting space “The AmCham Loft”, which is available to our members for internal or external company events. Read more about the “AmCham Loft” on page 12. This spring, following the successful merger with the Danish American Business Forum (DABF), we are pleased to welcome more than 60 new companies to the AmCham network. These companies strengthen AmCham’s collective voice, which now includes more than 260 companies actively investing in Denmark and the U.S.

“Following the successful merger with DABF, we are pleased to welcome more than 60 new companies to the AmCham network.”

10 Yearbook 2018

I also want to extend a warm welcome to AmCham’s new Deputy Director Einar Dyrhauge, who joined our team following the DABF merger. Einar will be spearheading a new AmCham platform “Access USA”, focused on assisting Danish companies entering the U.S. market. Read more about AccessUSA on page 42. On a personal note, I would like to acknowledge all the valuable relationships we enjoy with our members and partners, and thank them for their cooperation this past year. I also want to thank AmCham’s professional staff and Board of Directors, whose enthusiasm and drive enable us to make the progress we continue to make each year.

The AmChams in Europe group with U.S. Chamber CEO Tom Donohue

Connections across the Globe AmCham Denmark is a member of the global AmCham Network - a network of AmChams in more than 115 countries worldwide, all of which are accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Our network is an important asset to us, our members and our stakeholders. Therefore we forge strong relationships, particularly with the AmChams in Europe. Established in 1963, AmChams in Europe serves as the umbrella organization for directors of 44 AmChams throughout Europe and Eurasia. Together, the organization accounts for more than $ 1.1 trillion in investment on both sides of the Atlantic. AmCham Denmark hosts the secretariat for AmChams in Europe, and AmCham Denmark’s Stephen Brugger currently serves as the organization’s Vice Chair.
