Both Gina Dosch and Chrisa Kastning have learned new skills to help them advance their careers in ag manufacturing.
Gina Dosch, Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Highline Manufacturing, wants women starting out on their career paths to know that the ag industry is not just about administrative work. From welding, fabrication, assembly, paint and many office positions, there are career paths in ag to fit just about anything a person may be interested in, and jobs are available!
Determining what a person is engaged in and what would be a good fit in the industry will dictate the necessary educational requirements for each individual. But, Dosch says the ag industry is supportive of growth and some companies will provide financial assistance to further an employee’s education.
Dosch herself had the opportunity to acquire new skills and grow in her position while working for Highline. Over the 20 years she’s been with the company, her role has expanded from coordinating outsourcing of things like brochures, photographs and videos to producing them in house.
Her Sales & Marketing Coordinator position allow her to express her creativity while also allowing her to get out of the office to attend trade shows as support for the territory manager. She also makes farm visits to meet and talk to Highline’s customers – building relationships that make the company stronger.
Asked about what keeps her engaged in her career, Dosch says, “the ag industry is amazing. There are always new challenges every day. That’s what I’m engaged with.”
