ACG Future Leaders
In 2021, the College offers Clinical Research Awards of up to $50,000 for original clinical research. The mission of this awards program is to fund innovative research that is patient-care oriented. The Committee also considers proposals for pilot awards of up to $15,000 within this category.
In 2021, the College offers Medical Resident Clinical Research Awards of up to $10,000, and Medical Student Research Awards of up to $5,000. The mission of this awards program is to fund innovative research that is patient care-oriented.

For ACG 2021, the College is proud to highlight a 2021 recipient of the ACG Medical Student Research Award: Mr. Matthew Zhao of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He will be presenting his current research at ACG 2021 entitled The Impact of Renal Function on Hepatic Encephalopathy Following Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Placement for Refractory Ascites. 2021
