SIMPLE DOOR FIXES
FOLLOW 28/36 RULE
MAKE SCENTS
According to DIYNetwork.com, a bright new coat of paint and an eye-catching door knob can punch up the design of the front of your house. Painting your front door can add some needed brightness if you pick a bold color that makes your house stick out. Meanwhile, you have endless options and price ranges for a new door knob.
Not sure how much home you can afford? According to realtor.com, one way to figure this out is to follow the 28/36 rule. The “28” in the ratio refers to your monthly housing payment (your mortgage plus home insurance and property taxes). The total of which shouldn’t be more than 28 percent of your gross (before taxes) monthly income. The “36” refers to your debt-to-income ratio. This ratio compares your debt to your income. This ratio should be no more than 36 percent. Experts warn that going past this threshold is risky, as you could end up with a house that, over time, drives you even deeper into debt.
Sometimes making your house smell great is just a matter of raiding the spice cabinet and fruit bowl. Take for instance cleanmyspace. com’s DIY potpourri. You take slices of fruit, add various herbs, then add to a small saucepan along with a cup or so of water. Bring to a boil, then let simmer on low for several hours. Add more water as needed to keep the liquid from boiling away.
