‘THE MURDER ROOM’: ACTORS’ newest play, “The Murder Room,” will premiere at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25. at ACTORS, 120 Abraham Drive. Tickets can be purchases at Ali Cakes in downtown Ames, or at www.actorsinc.org. Additional performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 26, 27 and Feb. 2, 3; and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 4. There is never a dull moment in this zany farce of British crime thrillers. In the style of Agatha Christie and Monty Python, there is fast-paced, witty dialogue; hidden compartments; and nonstop hilarity. Don’t miss this who-dun-it.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUPS: The NAMI Connections peer support group will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and monthly support group for family members of individuals living with mental illness will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, at NAMI of Central Iowa Wellness Center, 416 Douglas Ave., Suite 205. ISU RETIREES PROGRAM: ISU retirees, spouses and friends January social and program will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, in the ISU Alumni Center Reiman Ballroom. Mark Barron, ISU Department of History, will provide an overview of the history of Pammel Court and its signifi cance to the Iowa State Community. Barron and his class spent fall 2016 researching and collecting items for an exhibition dedicated to Pammel Court. Hear the results of the course project and share reminiscences and stories about life in the Pammel Court community.

Ask receives Boy Scout Troop 140 Dave Slater Achievement Award Boy Scout Troop 140 of Ames recently presented the Dave Slater Achievement Award to Star Scout and Senior Patrol Leader Jaden Ask at its Court of Honor on Dec. 18. Jaden is the son of Andy Ask and the late Johnna Folkmann-Ask. The award is given in memory of Dave Slater, assistant Scoutmaster of the troop from 1987-95, who was instrumen-
