AMERICAN LEGION BINGO American Legion Post 37 will offer bingo at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at 225 Main St., in Ames. Event is open to the public. Play sheets of three, six or nine squares are available for $6, $12 and $18.
GOOD NEIGHBOR BENEFIT CONCERT AT FIRST BAPTIST Sheltered Reality, a youth percussion group with a positive message, will be in concert at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at First Baptist Church of Ames, 200 Lynn Ave. Admission is free; any free-will offerings will support Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance. A concession stand with hot dogs, veggie dogs, and more will open at 6:15 p.m. with all proceeds going to Good Neighbor. All are invited to enjoy the evening. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. Todey receives Ames Town and Country Kiwanis Club Service Leadership Award Emma Todey, Ames High School Key Club member, received the Ames Town and Country Kiwanis Club Service Leadership Award at a recent meeting of the Town and Country Kiwanis Club. The award, which included $1,000, was presented to Todey by Key Club Advisor Randy Griffith. Todey’s parents, Dennis and Cheryl Todey, also observed the presentation. Todey earned this award by her long-time leadership in the Key Club and her many high school activities. She was cited by her teachers and peers for her outstanding academic skills, her desire to learn and assist others. Todey intends to peruse a double major in animal biology and Spanish at Iowa State University. Her Key Club advisor believes she will excel at ISU and wherever she ventures. Emma Todey, Ames High School Key Club member, received the Ames Town and Country Kiwanis Club Service Leadership Award at a recent meeting of the Kiwanis Club.
