AGUIO CITY Voters got a taste of the sizzling and colorful 2016 elections as candidates flock to the offices of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and tender their applications to become servants of the nation. After the five-day filing of certificates of candidacy, the national political arena saw 130 candidates apply for the Presidential seat, 19 for Vice President, and 172 aspire for a seat in the Senate. In North Luzon, local politicians, now gearing up for the campaign season, have begun chanting their battle cries with the filing of their COCs. LA UNION For former La Union board member Henry A. Bacurnay Jr., who filed for gubernatorial position on Tuesday, it would be a David-against-Goliath battle between him and the Ortega clan. Leading his supporters for a symbolic march, Bacurnay or “BAC” which also stands for his tagline “Be A Change” carried with him a slingshot which, he said, shows that he is ready to fight. La Union is also anticipating the local political battle as the Ortega clan clashes against each other in key positions in the province. Outgoing San Fernando City Mayor Pablo C. Ortega and his nephew Ex-Officio Board Member Manuel Victor “Mannix” R. Ortega Jr. both filed their COCs for the first district representative on October 12 at the provincial office of the Comelec. At the city mayor level, Rep. Victor Francisco C. Ortega slid down to the mayoralty post after serving the public for three consecutive terms, and also being a lone and unopposed candidate during the 2013 elections.

“The training aims to develop agriculture youth experts who would serve as catalysts of the sector when they go back to their own municipalities,” dagdag niya.
“Among the conditions of the exchange study is the assurance of the sending country that all candidates must return home after the training,” aniya. Kasama niya sina Quality Assurance of Central 34 AGRICULTURE sa pahina 8
