HE nearing ouster of the famed “Banaue Rice Terraces” in international tourism preferred destinations and its imminent deletion in being a world wonder heritage prompted this Banaue boy to do some refurbishment for his homeland. Born in Amganad, Banaue, Ifugao, Raul Ballogan is a living witness to the glory that was of the man-made magnificent scenery. He recalled that back in the 60s and 80s the eighth wonder of the world was so busy accommodating hundreds to thousands of local and international tourists, any day of the year - an experience he longed for now because of its present deteriorating situation which hurts him so much. Being the eldest boy in eight siblings, he had to struggle and work hard in order to help his father who was an elementary public school teacher and farmer mother in crossing life for the family. AGUIO CITY - The laying of the Tartan track will see the realization of a 30-year dream of the city to have its own standard track and field. Baguio Rep. Nicasio Aliping Jr., Department of Public Works and Highways engineers and the contractor of the Baguio athletic bowl project started the laying of the Tartan track Wednesday, the feast of three kings.
