Beyond Logic Inspired by Istanbul Docks.

One meets many buildings.

Like people’s faces, some of them tell enriching stories, others mirror the surprised looking eye, some challenge future memories, supposable holding on human wish of immortality.

Surely all of them sense your close presence.

By comparing and pulling together images from different sources, combining the surprising and the anticipated in a sharp meticulousness, using the tensions and affinities between the images, I shape dreamlike stories inspired by Istanbul.

Focusing on the semantic core of visualization by liquefying and/or disrupting the boundaries between the photographs and the structures of fictional narratives.

The series questions the existence and the adequate representation surrounding obsolete modernist space taking example of the KarakĂśy shipyard on the Bosphorus.

I like to show the point of contact for this methodology of organizing-through-complicating. mainly focussing on identity, design culture and minor histories.

Amine Khouni Born in 1986 in Khartoum, lives in Austria Master studies of Architecture and Design at the Technical University of Vienna.

Traveling in the search of inner thrive in the last decades, untill settlement for the most fruitfull and productive year in the metropole of Istanbul.

Discovering the enigmatic relationship between buildings and the art of photography with the help of Tuna Uysal at the Department of Photography of the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

This work is the result of a year’s emotional analysis in search of Inspiration and new paths for further personal development.
