Reflecting back on CoP 1, I was able to create an outcome that tackled the representation of Political Branding, and produced an app that allows all users to upload political designs to help bring awareness to political issues for the younger demographic. This project was moulded by my interest in political design, and strong opinion on how the younger population are not politically awoke. For CoP 2, I would like to branch away from political design, as I have studied this in both Foundation and Level 4. Inspired by using my ambitions and ideologies to drive a project, I would like to look at the Subjective Design, and how it is applied and responded to in the Design Industry. This approach was inspired by my Studio Practise work when reading ‘The Debate: The Legendary Contest of two giants of graphic design’, which had Wim Crouwel and Jan Van Toorn debating the success of Objective and Subjective Design. Throughout the year I have become to realise that Subjective Design is the approach I use when creating work, and by having a better understanding for its origins, and meanings through CoP I will be able to improve and a designer and learn more contextual knowledge that can be applied in my future work. Although looking at Subjective Design as a whole is a rather broad topic, hopefully over my break from University I will be able to read more into this subject and narrow down a focal point.
