ABOUT US

Founded in 2010, Amos Goldreich Architecture is an award-winning architecture practice led by Amos Goldreich. We deliver full architectural services in close collaboration with our clients and end users, to create buildings and places which have a positive impact on people’s lives and are a joy to experience. For us, architecture is about people and so our work is always delivered with an acute sense of empathy and pragmatism. Much of our work has a strong humanitarian focus – we are always aware of the positive and progressive values that buildings can deliver to people and communities.

OUR APPROACH We approach every project through the eyes of the client and end user. The human angle is never an afterthought; it is a fundamental part of the planning process. We add non-quantifiable value in terms of improving living conditions and pragmatic use of space, as well as creating a haven for the user(s) – our clients have commented on the positive impact this has made to them on an emotional and psychological level.

ENDURING, CONSIDERED DESIGN

We work collaboratively with clients and end users to create enduring and considered designs which serve people and communities, strengthen identity and generate value. We set ourselves apart by listening to our clients’ needs and delivering above and beyond their expectations with thoughtful and innovative design, sensitive to context and inspiring.

SERVICES We offer full architectural services: From initial feasibility and appraisal, through the planning process including listed building consent, to design, construction (where we act as contract administrators) and completion. In every case, we seek to establish a close, collaborative relationship with our clients.

As part of an evolving design process, the team will rigorously interrogate a given brief, exploring and evaluating ideas, concepts and details to identify innovative design solutions. The results often go beyond expectation, whether it be through spatial logistics or by fusing a sensitivity to people’s practical needs with subtle, understated aesthetics. Our architecture resolves challenging layouts creatively, delivering pragmatic and clever designs that maximise space to its full potential.

We are trusted by our clients for the personal service we provide, adding value to their projects and bringing well considered, enduring designs.

ELFORT ROAD HOUSE Amos Goldreich Architecture has completed the spectacular transformation of a dark, cluttered terraced house in Islington, London, into a sophisticated, light and spacious family home. The project comprises a side and roof extension, as well as extensive internal refurbishment featuring open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas on the ground and lower-ground floors. The clients commented: “The result has been spectacular: A home we look forward to returning to every day that perfectly complements the needs of our growing family. Every time we open the front door we will be reminded of the care and attention to detail Amos Goldreich Architecture meticulously designed into every corner of our home.

“This project has been a real delight to work on. From the outset, we wanted to create a sense of comfort and ‘home’ for the family, from bright, open areas, carefully arranged to maximise space, to refined materials and finishes which bring everything together. Of utmost importance, however, is that the family love their new home, and we hope it continues to bring enjoyment for many years to come.”- Amos Goldreich

CREATE BESPOKE STORAGE

If clutter is becoming an issue, make the most of unused areas to create much-needed storage solutions. Floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall open and closed shelving filled with books, home accessories and photographs will create a striking feature, as well as vital space to hide away all your unsightly belongings. FIT INTERNAL WINDOWS ‘Sometimes you only need to

make a small gesture or change and the affect can be immense,’ says architect Amos Goldreich of Amos Goldreich Architecture (020 7272 6592; agarchitecture.net). This concept was showcased in his recent project in Primrose Hill, London – a 60sqm, twobedroom flat. The owner’s brief called for a reconfiguration of the layout to transform the apartment and create a second bathroom. The new bathroom had no ventilation, so a slot window was built between the bathroom and the single bedroom to allow natural light to filter through. The kitchen was moved to where the bathroom used

DARTMOUTH PARK HOUSE Amos Goldreich Architecture has received planning approval for the transformation of this family home in a conservation area in Dartmouth Park, North London. The client’s brief was to extend an existing narrow kitchen and build a new garden studio to replace an old, dilapidated garage. The proposals also include transforming the existing basement, currently used as a cellar due to height restriction, into a habitable space. Amos Goldreich Architecture worked closely with Camden Council’s Planning Department to achieve a scheme which meets the clients brief, but also respects the existing context.

PRIMROSE HILL APARTMENT This apartment’s layout was carefully reconfigured to create a spacious two-bedroom flat with lots of natural light. The relocated kitchen, now open-plan, seamlessly integrates with the living area, whilst the addition of a window between the kitchen and the entrance hallway creates new visual connections from one space to the next. Fine details include bespoke joinery and ingenious storage solutions such as a walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom and a floating sideboard in the living room.

WINE COLLECTOR’S APARTMENT This property was completely renovated for our client, a Portuguese winemaker, and included a new, bespoke staircase, bathroom, joinery and finishes. Of paramount importance was the inclusion of a custom-made feature storage wall, which is both practical and visually striking. We wanted to bring as much natural light as possible into the building, because of its depth, and utilised a light palette of colours on the floors and walls, with reflective surfaces throughout.

MUSWELL HILL HOUSE The client brief called for light-filled, open spaces with a strong sense of connectivity. The challenge has been to respect the history of a 100-yearold building while sensitively adapting it to accommodate the requirements of 21st-century family life. In addition, the client wished to display a range of rare objects and sculptures, so the main reception rooms needed to function both as living areas but also as informal ‘gallery’ spaces. The overall concept was to infuse the interiors with as much natural light as possible, enhanced by the decision to adopt a neutral and coherent palette of white walls and contrasting dark American walnut flooring, creating a consistent visual framework on each floor.
