Fortwilliam Musical Society return this year to Chicago with the classic musical made famous by Doris Day, Calamity Jane.
MUSIC
Tickets: 2 Tickets £39, 3 Tickets £58.50, 4 Tickets £78 Time: 7.45pm
This beautiful production from the producer and director of The awardwinning Eva Cassidy Story is an exposé of the life Doris Day.
Directed by Kerry Rooney MBE, this hilarious comedy nevertheless has many tender moments and some very famous numbers including Secret Love, Deadwood Stage and Windy City.
Though her on screen persona was full of romance and secret love, the real story was much more dramatic. With video projection a swinging jazz band and impeccable vocals the Doris Day Story is a compelling musical journey through her life incorporating some of greatest songs Love Me or Leave Me, Perhaps, Perhaps, Pillow Talk, Black Hills of Dakota, and Move Over Darling, to name a few. This production charts her life as a Jazz-singer to an idol of the silver screen, and beyond a show not to be missed so come on and take a sentimental journey down memory lane.
A night out not to be missed.
IT’S MAGIC !!
Well meaning, but disaster prone, she tries to help the local saloon proprietor out of a jam by promising to collect a music hall star from Chicago.

A special screening of Frank Capra’s enduring and classic Christmas movie. George Bailey has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all - and it’s Christmas! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence - who then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn’t been for all his good deeds over the years.
