AUTUMN IN YOUR GARDEN

TRADITIONAL POTATO BASKET

Tutor: Vanessa Drew Sat 28 Oct // Time: 10am - 4pm Cost: £20 & £18 (Concession) // Age: 16 years+

Tutor: Clive Lyttle Sat 18 Nov // 10am - 4pm Cost: £55 & £49.50 (Concession) // Age: 16 years+

There is a lot of gardening that can be done in autumn. In this workshop we will look at pruning techniques. We will work out a manageable maintenance routine for your garden and look at low maintenance alternatives for hard and soft landscaping. We will also discuss how to get colour in your garden all year round.

These harvesting baskets were once made in vast numbers around the shores of Lough Neagh primarily at Gawley's Gate, Aghagallon and Aghalee with the larger versions used to collect and harvest potatoes and the smaller versions which we will be making, used to 'teem' and serve potatoes.
