Advance booking is essential for all courses and classes. Concessionary prices will apply to anyone who is registered as disabled, those who are 60 years old and over, those in receipt of unemployment benefit and students. Any carer accompanying a person with a disability will be admitted free of charge. Enrolment will not be refunded other than for a medically certified illness or at the Manager’s discretion. In the unfortunate event of the course or class being cancelled by the Council, participants will be refunded in full. If you have any particular access needs please contact the individual venue directly for assistance. For certain courses and classes participants will be asked to bring along specific materials to work with. Details will be available from the individual venues. Everyone has a smartphone these days but do you realise the power of the camera in your pocket? Learn how to frame up great photos with just your phone camera and tips and techniques used by professionals. We will use the techniques of street photography to really develop your eye and help you take great photos by looking at things differently. This workshop will also include tips on free software you can use to make your photos even better and ways to safely share your photos online.

This fun workshop will allow you to be photographed as a ghost and photo-shopped into a spooky photograph of your own especially for Halloween. Watch as your portrait is transformed into a ghostly portrait and get a print as a souvenir of your day!

Bobbin lacemaking can be traced back around 500 years. It is one of the oldest methods of making lace. Students are given one on one tuition and systemically taken through various techniques building up a wide knowledge of the various types of lace. Students with prior knowledge are encouraged to extend their skills in trying out a range of laces both British and continental. By enrolling on this course participants recognise their responsibility for ensuring they are fully conversant with the safe handling of any equipment and materials.

Students will be shown how to use seed beads to weave into jewellery using a wide variety of styles. Beads can be purchased from the tutor, suitable for both beginners and experienced.

This ‘2nd stage’ course is a follow on from our ‘Watercolour for Beginners’ course. More time will be spent working on various compositions working from both images and still life set-ups. The class will also concentrate on colour theory and mixing paint. Please bring your own paint, brushes and watercolour paper.

In this fun workshop children will be invited to use clay to make a variety or artworks from their own imagination. They will be taught to roll, pinch and attach clay creating fun and exciting pieces! These can be taken home to allow to dry and can then be painted. Come dressed for mess!

This is a 2 part Workshop, the first to get you started with the cross stitch (which you then complete at home). The second is for making up the pocket and the snowman.

Learn all about your camera and how to take great pictures in the gorgeous grounds of Sentry Hill. Making the most of the autumn colours and afternoon light, we shall look at taking great images, editing them and storing your photos safely. Please bring your camera with fully charged batteries and memory card.

There is nothing quite like seeing your own handmade Wreath hanging on your door. In this workshop you will make a large Wreath using good quality living natural materials, something that stands out from the crowd and that will last all the way through the holiday period. All materials are provided but please bring scissors or secateurs to class.
