Advance booking is essential for all courses and classes. Concessionary prices will apply to anyone who is registered as disabled, those who are 60 years old and over, those in receipt of unemployment benefit and students. Any carer accompanying a person with a disability will be admitted free of charge. Enrolment will not be refunded other than for a medically certified illness or at the Manager’s discretion. In the unfortunate event of the course or class being cancelled by the Council, participants will be refunded in full. If you have any particular access needs please contact the individual venue directly for assistance. If you are tired of formulaic Hollywood blockbusters try this little foray into the less-well-known cinema of our European neighbours. We will consider the merits of an eclectic mix of films past and present including "Run, Lola, Run", "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg", "The Illusionist", "Il Postino: The Postman", "Nosferatu the Vampyre", and "The Artist". Each two-hour session will consist of an introduced screening and an opportunity for discussion after viewing.
A six week course of beginners level crochet with a different project to try each week. Each session will help participants develop essential skills. From holding your hook and reading patterns to creating beautiful, versatile granny squares, zigzag blankets and jar cosies. The course will also explore techniques for working with recycled materials like tshirts and plastic bags. Participants should bring along their own choice of ‘double knitting’ wool.

Join our Park Rangers for a half-day workshop focusing on our many natural wildlife species and how they cope with surviving through the colder winter months.
Spend the day with expert willow weaver and basketmaker Clive Lyttle from Welig Heritage Crafts creating woven willow bird feeders for the garden. Participants will have the chance to use basketmaking skills to produce the feeders in a number of designs. Keep your feathered friends happy in the garden. All tools and materials provided.
The Workshop will consist of a presentation highlighting the different adaptations and survival strategies of our amazing wildlife, followed by a guided excursion around the grounds to try and spot some of the species discussed.

SENSORY CHRISTMAS STORYTELLING Tutor: Vicky McFarland Sat 15 Dec 30 minutes per session // 10am, 11am or 12pm // Cost: £3 per child // Age: Primarily 3 - 6yrs (also suitable for other family members - babies and older brothers/sisters who may want to join in too). This Christmas, storyteller Vicky McFarland will be bringing her Sensory Storytelling into the festive season celebrating the magic and wonder of Christmas. Expect music, participation, bubbles, fairy lights and sensory play for children and their parents to enjoy together!
