Jake O’Kane, Northern Ireland’s top comic and star of the BBC panel show The Blame Game, is back with a brand new show entitled Still Sittin’ on the Fence.

Once again, the hugely talented Terry McHugh, one of NI’s brightest emerging comedy talents, will be performing alongside Jake.

With a pedigree lasting over one hundred years, The Queen's Island Victoria Male Choir are advocates that male choir singing in Belfast has spanned the centuries. Amalgamated in 1974 (Queen's Island and Victoria were est. in 1912 and 1916 respectively), the choir has enjoyed singing throughout Northern Ireland and the UK. Recently the choir was very pleased and delighted to be able to sing at the grand opening of the new Titanic Hotel in Belfast. How to get here The Old Courthouse is located at Market Square in the heart of Antrim town centre. The building is located within a pedestrian priority zone with the main approach on foot along lower High Street or alternatively from the Castle Mall car park near to Castle Way. Earth and Beyond by Emma Whitehead

Thurs 8 March - Sat 21 April Emma Whitehead is a textile artist from County Down, who uses traditional and innovative embroidery techniques to create three-dimensional artworks. Her mixed media embroideries explore our planet, the solar system, the space beyond and how we perceive it, using recycled and found objects hand stitched with silk onto Irish linen. The exhibition will run alongside a 6 week ‘Creating Worlds’ course led by Emma in Museum at The Mill. This exhibition will be held in Museum at The Mill itself. Thurs 1 March - Sat 28 April René Mullin’s work focuses on place and the texture of place. Within the Irish Linen Mills and textile industry of 1800’s &1900’s Ireland the workers expressed the stories of their lives in song. Communal singing at work created a camaraderie and sense of place for the workers. This work aims to reimagine the enveloping sense of place these songs provided for the linen mill workforce. The songs are illustrated and surface printed on Irish linen in a contemporary style evocative of René’s established minimal style with a fresh lyricism. Coastline, Country and Creatures Louise 'Fifties' O'Donnell is an illustrator, graphic designer and DJ from the Ballymena area. Scribbling and drawing since she could hold a pencil, her love for all things creative was apparent from a very young age. Louise’s work celebrates her love of wildlife and landscapes in County Antrim and beyond alongside her fondness for the medium of acrylics and pen. Having experienced mental health issues herself, Louise is joined for this exhibition by other members of Action Mental Health New Horizons Antrim, an organisation which supports the recovery of adults experiencing mental ill-health through their “Working it Out” project. Thurs 28 June - Sat 28 July A multidisciplinary installation by Visual Artist Lise McGreevy, Artist and Composer Marie Therese Davis, Poet Jim Johnston and Film Maker Paul Whittaker. Striping away the political agenda, the remit for all four artists for this installation was to promote and embrace both factions of our society, culturally and equally, to create an original body of work, which they best felt answered the question: The culture, heritage and language of our joint Irish and Ulster Scots history – is it abandoned; forgotten? The reply by all four was a resounding no.

The Outside World Botanical Art By Alison Walker

Tue 27 Mar - Sat 12 May Alison Walker is a botanical artist with a background in the History of Art. However, a few years ago she felt compelled to take up her paintbrush and, being mad about plants and horticulture, found herself drawn to painting what was growing in her garden. She is particularly interested in the scientific approach to portraying plants, where one attempts to show accurately the subject and its vital parts, often with the aid of a magnifying glass, or even a microscope.

The Men’s Shed are back! Continuing their exploration of the arts, and following successful exhibitions of drawing and photography, the Steeple, Antrim, Men’s Shed are now creatively challenging the stereotypes and stigma of growing older in their latest body of work. This time around the work reflects the positive aspects of how growing older can be brilliant.

Jordanstown Art Club has been successfully running for over 30 years. The club comprises keen amateur artists living in Newtownabbey and its neighbouring areas who meet to paint together and share their skills and techniques. The club produces traditional landscapes, seascapes and still life along with the more modern acrylics, oils, pastels, watercolours and mixed media paintings. Always striving to improve and innovate, members are encouraged by monthly demonstrations given by professional artists and workshops where thay can expand their knowledge of the arts.

The Half: Photographs Of Actors Preparing For The Stage

Sorrel Wills is an artist living in Antrim, her home for the last 17 years. She works in oils and relishes the immediacy that is possible in using this medium. Many subjects inspire her, and her paintings often feature landscapes, townscapes and interiors with sunlight and shade a continual theme explored throughout her work.

‘The Half’ is an actor’s countdown to walking on stage and facing an audience. Simon Annand’s photographs capture this final half-hour of excitement and intensity before the show begins, allowing visitors to peep into the secret world of the dressing room to discover actors engaging in personal reflections and private rituals, as they make the transition into character. Curated by Kate Bailey of the V&A in collaboration with Simon Annand, it spans over 30 years of British Theatre and includes portraits of many well-known performers.

In this new work she has thoroughly enjoyed exploring using palette knives and is also celebrating her recent acceptance as an associate member of the Ulster Society of Woman Artists.

Merville Newtownabbey Photographic Club was formed in 1949 by residents of the newly built Merville Garden Village, and membership today remains open to photographers of all abilities and anyone with an interest in photography. The clubâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s aim is to promote photography as a fine art, and each year it has produced an Annual exhibition of work. This show is a selection of Colour and Monochrome prints from the 2017, 67th Annual Exhibition, and several have been accepted into International salons.

Inspired by mediated imagery and text (from magazines, newspapers, album covers, postcards, etc.), she imagines, explores and constructs, using drawing, painting and collage techniques, real and imagined narratives based around glamorous and iconic objects of aspiration and desire. Themes addressed include longing and the distance of time, place, memory and unrequited relationships; escapism; romance and the female gaze.

Embroidery Guild was set up in 1980 to promote the craft and exhibition of embroidery and raise public awareness of the high standard of textile art in Northern Ireland. The Guild provides a focus and meeting place for people to learn new skills through lectures, demonstrations and workshops, with textile artists and tutors - both local and internationally recognised - sharing their knowledge and expertise. Louise Bourgeois Prints: Autobiographical Series and 11 Drypoints A Hayward Touring exhibition from Southbank Centre, London

Tues 13 Mar - Sat 14 April Hayward Touringâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s latest print exhibition features two collections of works by one of the most influential artists of recent decades, Louise Bourgeois (19112010). A French-American artist best known for her powerful emotionally charged sculptures, she was also a prolific printmaker and draughtswoman, most of whose work dealt with strongly autobiographical themes, invoking her childhood emotions of loneliness, desire, anxiety and jealousy. She began making prints in the 1930s in Paris before emigrating to New York in 1938 where she remained for the rest of her life.
