From the very beginning, the Melges IC37 Class was developed to create a racing experience unlike any other. The boat itself is innovative and elegant in a thoughtfully simple way. A simple sail configuration for all conditions, a rig designed to trim and go, no extra instruments. And yet, remarkable performance in all conditions. But the IC37 is more than just a new boat. It is an innovative amateur one-design class, designed to race with a crew of family and friends. Men and women. Young and not so young. Sailors who race for the love and joy of the sport. And all making possible what many sailors seek: the opportunity to test their preparation, skill, and teamwork on the most level playing field available, whilst the class does everything it can to ensure the arms race game is avoided. The racing will be fast, furious and turnkey — but most of all….Fun!

THE IC37 CONCEPT From the very beginning, the Melges IC37 Class was developed to create a racing experience unlike any other. The boat itself is innovative and elegant in a thoughtfully simple way. A simple sail configuration for all conditions, a rig designed to trim and go, no extra instruments. And yet, remarkable performance in all conditions. With an already established one-design class on the International stage, the IC37 offers a perfect solution for big boat racing in the UK. Now with a proven pedigree under handicap racing, as well as class racing, she affords owners a huge variety of racing depending on individual preferences. Whether it be an invitational regatta at the NYYC or a Cowes Week regatta with family and friends, the Melges IC37 makes possible what many sailors seek: the opportunity to test their preparation, skill, and teamwork on a level playing field, with a boat and class that does everything it can to ensure the arms race game is avoided. The racing will be fast, furious and turnkey... but most of all, Fun!

THE STORY SO FAR When the New York Yacht Club (NYYC) started looking for a successor to the Club Swan 42, it quickly became apparent that the best way to tackle the task, was to commission a new, modern design that could be tailored around a sailors needs. Mark Mills Design quickly stood out as the obvious choice and with his own experience and that of key members of the NYYC, the IC37 design was born. The concept quickly grew and demand outweighed supply, which is when FIBRE Mechanics in the UK were appointed as the second, class builder to help build the initial 20 boat order. This new locally built raceboat has presented a hugely exciting opportunity for the UK buyer.
Ancasta International Boat Sales are proud to announce that now this 20-boat initial build has been completed, they are in a position to sell to private individuals that are looking to join one of the most in-demand classes anywhere in the world today! Building on the success of the IC37 in the US, Ancasta are preparing to see a fleet of IC37s grow and flourish under One Design, but also being capable under IRC for those that like a mix of racing. The IC37 is going to ensure fast racing at an affordable price and most importantly on a level playing field.

THE FUTURE • Ancasta International Boat Sales and Melges Performance Sailboats are supporting the IC37 Class and are welcoming interested parties to come forward with an expression of interest. • With boats available within 4 months of order and two boats racing this summer, now is the time to show your hand and start a conversation about this exciting new design in the UK. • Conversations with some of the UK’s leading Yacht Clubs have already begun, and we are excited to put the power back in the hands of the owner, giving them a taste for high performance keel boat sailing. • As the level rated, handicap fleet of IC37’s grows over time, the ambition will be to run one design Class events once numbers allow. With the US fleet of nearly 30 boats interested in collaborating this could lead to some of the best pro-am sailing around.
