ABA was founded in 1984, based upon our passion for architecture, innovation in design and a commitment to the transformation of the profession. We provide complete services in architecture, interior design, strategic planning and master planning in our primary Community market.

The firm has developed a highly evolved process for establishing quality parameters for project tracking, measuring project progress and proactively re-planning and realigning at each milestone. This ensures that project results meet or exceed established goals.

This process combines the guidelines of Lean Construction with Integrated Project Delivery methodologies. However, it goes beyond those systems by acknowledging the importance of human interaction and the impact that each individual has on the project outcome, and specifically maps core team interaction.

At ABA, we are dedicated to an architectural design process that incorporates a holistic approach to achieving our clients’ vision.

Lee has over 30 years of experience planning, designing, and building educational facilities, with a focus on creating learning environments that enrich students personally as well as academically. His skill at working with clients and project teams to “design the process” is instrumental in welcoming all stakeholders to participate, be heard, and contribute to the direction of the project. By successfully facilitating communications around the multitude of issues, challenges, and options a project entails, he supports the informed, evidence-driven decision making that results in high-quality projects that are not only meet client needs but create meaningful places.

Mark Schoeman brings over 30 years of designing educational facilities. He sees the built environment as the “third teacher” and understands how space can affect student outcomes. His latest work has centered around student engagement and how we can design schools which promote interaction between students and faculty. He understands the challenges in today’s schools and is always looking for ways where we can leverage basic needs with forward, flexible space to meet multiple goals. He has been involved with projects from early childhood development centers to college science buildings, including all parts of the process; programming, planning, design, and construction. This includes work with modernizations, additions to existing campuses, and the planning and design for comprehensive schools.

Krista has over 30 years of experience working closely with a diverse set of academic and healthcare clients, consultants and end-users in implementing designs and developing plans for projects with specialized uses. Krista’s expertise includes building code analyses, feasibility studies, renovations, remodels, and tenant improvement projects. Her experience in project team coordination, construction documents and working with planning and building departments’ staff enable her to support teams in successfully guiding projects through review and approval processes with regulatory agencies.

Jason Hull, AIA, Associate Principal

Jason Hull has over 20 years of experience in architecture and interior design. His experience includes the design and delivery of education and civic architecture projects. His attention to detail, clear and concise communication style, thorough design approach, and experience in multiple facets of the process allow Jason to contribute at all levels of a project. As an Associate Principal of the firm leading design excellence across all projects, Jason brings multi-disciplinary and holistic design expertise to each of his projects.

ABA interior designers, architects, and strategic planners work together with clients through all phases of design. We practice evidence-based design, studying how our clients live, work, and play.
