Context Exploration and play are two things which should be incorporated into every single child’s early development and every child in the world has a right to a safe environment within which they can play and learn to express themselves. Unfortunately, many developing countries either do not have the resources or the money to provide children with this human right or simply do not know how to introduce it into their early years education. There are a number of charities worldwide who are now working to provide the necessary items and training required for schools to allow children to play, such as East African Playgrounds who work out in East Africa with volunteers from the UK to build playgrounds. Brief or Tasks Propose a charity run project that would introduce the idea of play to schools in Uganda (as a starting point leaving the option of extending the target audience). Plan and propose the brand guidelines for the charity project and produce all materials needed for the project to function. Find a way to encourage supporters from the UK to buy into the charity and support the development of play across Africa.
Preparation/Research suggestions Find a solution to the problem of explaining why children should have the right to play and explore to schools and communities within Uganda. Find a way of engaging the UK public with the problem and encourage people to support the charity.
Evidence – for this project students should submit A proposal for a charity run project, plus a set of brand guidelines. Any supporting materials for the charity including promotional products and a website design.
