In this first stage, we were able to create and define the identity of our high-end tool brand, based on our main concepts, classy, seductive and exclusive. Subsequently, we started with the name ideation and logo design, after multiple proposals and modifications we decided Eltum Pro and our current logo reflect our identity. During this conceptualization process, one of key stages was the research about our potential clients. Through this approach we were able to identify their needs and concerns, as well as their demanding and selective lifestyle. Thanks to these insights it was possible for us to have a clearer vision about the characteristics that we should reflect in our future tool.

Before starting with the design process, we considered important to make a real excercise. Consequently, we decided to build a window, starting by cutting the wood and aluminum profiles and ending with a curtain and a little shelf. After this activity we found out that the hacksaw is one of the most useful tools worldwide, but it has multiple deficiencies that make it unstable, insecure and uncomfortable. To get to know better this tool, we decided to make research about the existing products selled by our competitor brands such as DeWalt and Milwaukee. We concluded that most of them have a similar shapes and are visually unattractive. Taking in count our experience and the previous analysis we made about similar products, we started redesigning the common hacksaw, making it attractive and characterized by its seductive shape but also comfortable and adaptable to the user needs.

In this presentation part, we had to be careful with every visual and esthetic detail, the renders and physical models are a visual resource that let our clients and users have a clearer idea about the tool and also catch their attention and produce desire for acquisition. This design stage was one of the most important ones of our entire project because it was the culmination of the effort we put in previous months. To ensure the presentation reflects the quality required for this project, we spend time and care on the physical model, final rendering and photography.
Throughout these five months, the development of our project allowed us to work with the design process, not only in an object creation, but also in a new brand. This helped us to improve our branding skills as well as the marketing process of research about our clients and competitor brands. The creation of our tool gave us the opportunity to explore multiple forms always keeping in mind the main function, as a result we end up with an innovative and attractive design. This projects contributes to our formation as designers by reinforcing our skills such as conceptualization, research, exploration and visual aesthetics that will be useful in the design of future project.
