Brief

Implementation of Parklets within the City of Santiago de Querétaro in order to create new public spaces based on the city's need for mobility. It seeks in particular to generate small, safe, green and inclusive public spaces; intended for cultural, educational and recreational activities, open to the public. Queretaro Creativo

01

Parklets Existing Conditions Parklets may be installed on streets that have high pedestrian volume and local business activity, but lack public space for pedestrians

Parklets are public seating platforms that transform parking spaces along the curb into exciting community gathering areas. Parklets, also referred to as street seats or curbside sitting, are the result of a collaboration between the city and local businesses, citizens, or neighborhood associations (NACTO, 2015).

Parklets generally entail the conversion of two or more parallel parking spaces, or three to four angled parking spaces

Cycle racks or physical activity equipment may be incorporated into or adjacent to the parklet.

Parklets in Mexico Parklets in Mexico made their first appearance in Mexico City (2013) under the name of "pocket parks", as a response to the problem of lack of free space for recreation. About a year later, a proposal for a Parklet implementation in another important city, Puebla, appeared.

Well-beeing Light Light has an impact on life. It can improve or disrupt sleep, cognition, and general well-being. It also improves mood, stabilizes the circadian rhythm, brings relief in depression and activates us to have a shorter reaction time. Bright light can intensify emotions Dim light stabilizes them (does not make them disappear). Saturation amplifies emotions. Dull colors can reduce them. Natural light can create a more cheerful environment The artificial can be manipulated to create different emotions and physical reactions. https://www.eluniverso.com/larevista/orientacion/el-impacto-del-color-y-la-luz-en-nuestra-salud-mental-nota/

Color Cool colors are relaxing and can be used to treat anxiety or high blood pressure.

The lilac color is associated with tranquility, sweetness, warmth, restraint and low impact. It is not usually related to negative behaviors, on the contrary, it is associated with sensitivity, empathy, kindness, balance and maturity.
