FINE ART at hale 28-30 july 2017 As we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Fine Art at Hale Exhibition we reflect upon its humble beginnings, a fundraising event initiated by the Old Haleians Hockey Club and Ladies Auxiliary. The inaugural exhibition in 1993 was a great success and went on to become a highly anticipated event within the school, local and WA art communities. The focus changed over time to support artistic enrichment at Hale. We wish to acknowledge and thank all members of the Fine Art Committees over the years who have volunteered their time to deliver outstanding exhibitions. Special thanks go to the inaugural committee for this legacy. Each year proceeds from the exhibition go back into the Arts at Hale School via funding of an art scholarship for a Year 12 student, funding of a monetary art prize for an additional student as well as financial contributions towards several artistic enrichment projects at the school.

FORLANI, Rob

Rob Forlani has forged a career as an abstract painter, believing that in a sense he improvises a real life situation into art. Just as our moods are in constant motion, Rob wants his art to reflect the changing weather of the soul. Using symbolism to make his marks on the canvas as a starting point, every piece has a meaning as he attempts to precipitate events in the real world into more of a concrete circumstance - a kind of abstract realism. He has had solo exhibitions both nationally and internationally.

JUNIPER, Bec

Bec Juniper studied Fine Art at the Claremont School of Art and completed a Bachelor of Art at Hobart University. This work began from looking at Norman Lindsay's etchings. Bec considered the figure in the landscape and what it means to be a female Australian landscape painter rather than the subject. In the context of the landscape, her Arcadia is not based on a European vision. It's defined as Australian, after five generations on her mother's side. Bec has had several solo exhibitions and continues to explore the Australian landscape and our relationship to it. Recent Sydney exhibitions have received critical and popular acclaim.
