OFFICER MESSAGES EDITOR'S LETTER BEN BUNYATIPANON
Hello everyone, I'm asking that you please read this Editor's Letter if you never read them as it's very important to me. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to travel to the Mount Olympus Leadership Camp for 6 days with no internet and no service. It was a life changing experience. If you know me, you know that I hate camps and

that I would never go to anything like this out of my free will. Well, within two days of being there my views completely changed. I was surrounded by such a positive, safe environment where I knew I wouldn't be judged and I was free to be who I really wanted to be. I'm dedicating this newsletter to what I learned at camp and spreading the lesson that they taught us and the question they asked us. The question was "What's your why?". Now you're probably sitting there like what the heck is this dude talking about with all this positivity inspirational junk, and that's what I would think too reading this,
flown by with all the events we had this past month, and it will surely fly by in August with what our club has planned for the future. I personally want to thank everyone who participated in a Key Club event during July, especially those of you who have volunteered – you guys are the lifeblood of our organization!
but finding my why has opened so many new doors for me that I've never even thought about. Stop pretending to be someone you're not to fit in. Let go of your grudges and free yourself from that negativity. If you can finally stop thinking so much about what others think of you and instead focus on thinking about yourself and loving who you are, you can go so much further. When you are the best person you can be, you can start a ripple of positivity that will spread and shape others to be the best they can be. It only takes a small action to change a life, and it only takes one changed life to start a ripple. I know how hard it can be to find motivation to do anything over the summer (any other incoming seniors not preparing for college apps??), so I encourage all of you to take advantage of your free time and seek opportunities to get more involved with your community. Let’s make the most of what time we have left!

I serve because it adds purpose to everyday life. Everyone has aspirations and goals they want to pursue in the future, so it’s essential to stay connected with your community while on the journey to success. Volunteering reminds us what’s important in life and to hold those values close, this service allows you to appreciate the little things in life. Granted, adding purpose, connecting with your peers and experiencing new opportunities are just a few benefits from spending a few hours helping out!

I serve because I think theres always something we can do to benefit the community. we get so much from small organizations in the community such as the renton kiwanis club, renton chamber of commerce, rotary and lions club and we can do the same.

I serve in key club because it gives me a chance to socialize with new people as well as give back to my community. Being able to see someone’s smile on their face is worth the effort and sweat that you put in while volunteering. It’s refreshing to know that for just a couple hours of your time you can change someone else’s life for the better.

I serve because there is no other feeling like helping others. It just makes you feel so good knowing that you were able to impact the community positively. I always wanted to help out anyway I can so when there’s a chance I take it. Also, volunteering is a great way of meeting new people and creating new experiences. It’s part of the reason I serve. I do not serve because it is the right thing to do but because I love to serve. Not expecting anything in return. In the end the greatest reward is realizing that you made a change with the best of your abilities.

A
lly's favorite key club moments was writing Halloween cards for a children’s hospital. She says "Not only were we giving to our community, but we were making a few children’s day’s that much brighter".

Ally always puts in her best effort to meet new people and get involved in Key Club. Although she is a first year member she has already been making massive strides as a leader not only in key club but outside of key club too, recently winning a class officer posistion!
Allyson Chelsy is not only an active member of Key Club but also a member of the Hazen High School cheer team! Ally works very hard to keep up her grades while participating in many extraciricular activites, she always is seen with a smile and has the most positive attitude throughout all circumstances Thanks for being a great member of Key Club Ally and an even better friend!
MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT KEY CLUB IS NOT JUST THE THINGS WE DO, BUT WHY WE DO THEM.

CHAT ROOM HOW TO BE YOUR BEST SELF

I've decided to start a new

your true potential and to

achieve more than you
each month. Today, let's talkÂ
thought you ever could.
RECOGNIZE WHAT YOU WANT
Every mission has an objective, a target, or a goal. What is your goal? What part of yourself do you want to better? Without a target, how will you know where to aim? Some personal goals you could set are to see the world with more positivity, to illustrate to your loved ones that you cherish them, or just simply loving yourself for who you are
ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR INTENTIONS
With every what in this world comes a why. Little kids are known for always asking "Why this? " and "Why that?" , but those are truly important questions. Without knowing your purpose, what is the reason in doing what you do? You can work countless hours, but for what reason? A quote I especially love is "When you’re powered by a clear purpose, there is little you cannot do". What's your why?
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVITY
People tend to adapt the habits, actions, and words of those around them. If the people around you are constantly bringing you down, not supporting what you do, and projecting a negative image of you, you will soon begin to see yourself in those ways. You're so much better than what they say you are, don't let negative people drag you down. Surround yourself with people that love, accept and support you for who YOU are, not who they want you to be.
NOT YESTERDAY, NOT TOMORROW, BUT TODAY
Everyone takes different amounts of time to achieve their goals. If you're too busy thinking about how you messed up in the past and worrying about your future, you're missing out on the present. It's important to reflect on the past, but it's also important to let go of it. Plan ahead, but don't forget about how you feel in the present. If you're never in the present, are you anywhere at all?
BELIEVE IN YOUR REALITY
Your best self is created from your vision, it exists in YOUR reality. Don't waste time worrying about other people's visions of how they want you to be. You're only wasting your own time and energy trying to live up to how someone else wants you to be. Create your own reality, and live in it and believe in it until it truly is reality.
LOVE YOURSELF FIRST
Sometimes it can be so challenging, yet it's the key to all of this. It's impossible to spread love, positivity or good vibes without being able to love YOURSELF first. When taking on too many things at once it can be hard to remember to take care of yourself. Forgive yourself for mistakes you've made. Celebrate the little things, you got an A on the test becasue YOU worked hard for it. No one can take that away from you. Be confident in yourself mentally and physically. Let yourself do things you've wanted to do since you were a child. Let go of what other people think because what you decide to do is for you not for them. Love yourself everyday. 8
